I’ll wait for the sbu vs sju thread, but I did look back and
send Dean Noll did very very well against Dingle back when they
played each other. With our veteran squad I think we hold our
own vs a non veteran squad.

St. John’s men’s basketball opponent preview: Stony Brook

Lot of misinformation in this, including AC not returning. But
not like St. John’s fans really care about stony brook anyway
lol

This is going to be one embarrassing game for this University. I
think 25 points is being generous for SBU. I say they lose by 40
to St. Johns.

At Michigan State on December 21. Awesome. Initial post updated.
With the current schedule and the 18 conference games accounted
for, we have room for two more games to hit the max of 28 plus
an MTE. That'll be a home game, per Heilbron, between December 6
and 13 (possibly/probably Bryant), and then another either after
our first game or after Thanksgiving, I'm thinking.
This puts us at five games against non-conference teams that
were ranked in the top 100 by KenPom. If I have it right, that's
our most since 2006, when the conference schedule was lighter
and random OOC games in February were a thing.
I feel like we let football have its day today and come out
tomorrow with our non-con sked.

That’s the way you do it. That’s the way you schedule.

The road schedule is great but disappointed that the home
opponents are practically indistinguishable from an America East
team's.

I agree with you on the latter point. I didn't think it was too
much to ask one mid-major team like Fordham, La Salle, St.
Joe's, Temple, Georgetown, et al, to come here, which would be a
step up from what we're accustomed to but not to be. What's the
last non-conference, non-NIT opponent we've had in our gym that
you've been really hyped about seeing?
But then you look at the other CAA teams, and is anyone's home
schedule decidedly better than ours other than Charleston? I'll
take the seven games and the strong road sked.

SBU has a small arena that doesn't fill. It's hard to draw a
serious team that plays in a much larger environment. It's why I
think we should be investing in getting the Nassau Coliseum for
2-3 games a year. One Hofstra game, and two big name away teams
to come in. It'll put SBU basketball closer to its NYC and
Nassau alumni and create the potential for ticket draw to make a
bigger program like Georgetown interested.
