Wow, per Zach Braziller, we're at St. John's to start the
season, and the Rick Pitino era.

       Will be a tough ticket.

Three new games, including two pretty good ones at Nebraska and
       at Duquesne.

Do you guys think we will have any other decent opponents for
non conference or will we just play st joes, Farmingdale or a
miami Hamilton team again? Would love to get another decent
       opponent at home

It feels like these non D-I games at home are a given at this
point, and if you look around college basketball, everybody's
playing them – even more so than I thought. For me, zero is
ideal, one is more or less the standard, and it's irksome beyond
that. Here's the CAA breakdown from last year, showing the
number of non-con games and number of OOC home games in
       parentheses...
       0 - Monmouth (4), Northeastern (3), Towson (3)
       1 - Charleston (9), Hampton (4), Drexel (6), Delaware (6)
       2 - Stony Brook (5), UNC Wilmington (5), William & Mary (7),
       Elon (5)
       3 - North Carolina A&T (4)
You look at a place like A&T, which had four true non-conference
home games last year, but only one was against a Division I
opponent. Now that's unacceptable. I think we can bank on one
lower division opponent at home but hopefully not a second. To
me, a good goal would be to get one team from a superior
conference in to play us, even a lower tier A-10 team like GW,
La Salle or, in most years and because they're local, Fordham.
Nothing yet on that. In terms of quality so far, I'm guessing
St. John's is our only Quad 1 opponent at this point. Maybe
       Nebraska and Yale get there.
What works against us, at least in terms of non-conference
scheduling, is that we lose the week from Christmas to New
Year's because the CAA season starts sooner than the AE season.
We're guaranteed the nine CAA home games, but then have to
squeeze everything else in before Christmas pretty much.
I feel like five non-con home games will be the norm, with
anything more a bonus and anything less a disappointment.

Cornhusker Classic dates are set. We have St. John's, Duquesne
and Nebraska all on the road in the first nine days, with a home
game against Brown in there too. I like that these are road
contests where we can reasonably expect to at least compete,
especially as a veteran group going up against teams that may
still be finding themselves early in the season. To have had
these "roster additions" – Noll, Phillip, Clarke and Frey –
around the team last year while sidelined is a big plus.

That’s what I’m hoping that happens vs St. John’s. Do I expect
to win ? No. But I hope we keep it respectable and maybe even
the first half close. Especially with them not having any
experience together. I looked back 2 years ago and it seemed
that Noll had a great game vs Dingle who will be sju best
       player.
You can add Bryant to the schedule for a home game. So far I’m
pleased with the home OOC schedule. I think we should expect 2
more games to be added as well, 1 being a non D-1 game.
I also noticed Clarke is in a walking boot, hopefully it’s
nothing serious. The good thing is we are 4 months away.

The Brown game has been moved to December 29, so we'll see if we
get somebody else – ideally at home – between St. John's and
       Duquesne.

Nothing groundbreaking with the release of our conference
       schedule:

Let's see if Charleston at home moves the needle at all. We're
now up to seven games against teams who finished in the top 100
in KenPom, with a few more OOC games trickling in here soon. I'd
say there's a chance there's another whopper in there, but more
likely that we'll backfill with low major/sub D-I teams.

If true, wonder who this can be.
