"Sell out every game for their coach. ... Just live for their
pressure defense and they're very good at it. ... Use their
athleticism to their advantage. ... Need to work on strength in
the goal. ... Really buy into defensive philosophy. ... Not
ready to be in the top 10 just yet, until they prove they
deserve to be there. ... Spallina brings aspects of men's game
to his team. ... I would love to see them actually play somebody

team."

Stony Brook women's coach Joe Spallina tweeted Monday
morning, "Been asked about this a lot lately: personal feeling
is February 1st should be universal start date for NCAA men's
and women's lacrosse."
USC at No. 16 Stony Brook, 6 p.m. Feb. 20
There is no question that many people, myself included, want to
know what else USC can do after taking their season opener
against one of the most historically challenging teams in
Northwestern down to the wire. The Trojans are officially on
everyone's radar as a possible sleeper team that could make
waves with junior attacker Caroline de Lyra at their disposal.
She finished with five points against the Wildcats.
Meanwhile on the opposite coast, Stony Brook may sweep the
America East conference with top midfielder Michelle Rubino
leading the charge, but come May, the Seawolves could be a
bracket buster.
These two seemingly sleeper teams that could shake the nation
will square off in what will likely be an exciting battle of the
two coasts.
nice 7-4 win over USC. only gave up 2 shots in the entire first
half.
