       De-fund police

What are your thoughts about this ? If politicians go forward on
this would you live in a city where they are de-funded ? Do you
think that the politicians who choose to go forward on this
should loose the secret service and all taxpayer funded security
       ?

I don’t want to live in a place in which the police have been
defunded. Unfortunately, I can’t necessarily move frequently,
and continuously selling/buying houses could be a huge cost.
I have suggested people start researching things so they can
make good choices when things go haywire and I believe I need to
expand my own research. That needs to include places to be and
not to be for this reason, for example. To avoid having to move
multiple times, I would need to choose a place less likely to
       defund.
It would be hard for me to make a blanket statement on losing
taxpayer funded security because I’m ignorant on the subject. If
the police are abolished in an area and that area uses these
services to “make up for it”, in other words change/increase
their role, then I am against it unless it applies to all
citizens in that area. Don’t take away the police then use our
money only to guard you and your family.

ha you touched on one of the things I guess that bothers me
most. Equality. So for me De Funding is not an equal thing. I
am willing to place a bet that most people weather they are
property owners or renters do not agree with this. In other
words it is a minority of people that want this.
No most people myself included can not just pick up and go but
will your property be of any value in an area where there is
little to no police presence ? This and many other things should
be taken into account before a Mayor or Governor signs such
legislation. This is problematic when a political party makes
moves to please one group rather then to work with both sides
and come to a decision that can be fair and equitable to all. I
guess this goes back to me saying people have forgotten how to
sit down and talk and work together. That is very evident in
       politics today.
