While everyone is talking Mara just rushes to Gemflower and
pulls him into a very tight hug

Gemflower feels Hexor attempting to contact his mind and
immediately shuts him out. He looks to hexor and says “None of
that now. I’ve had too many voices in there for far to long. If
we are to speak, let it be out in the open. I’ve been quiet for
far too long!”
He steps forward and places the Deck of many things in Hexor’s
hand. “Be careful with these. You never know what might
happen...”
Stepping back with a wink and a smile he holds up his hand that
had been holding the deck, and held between his fingers are two
more cards, freshly pulled from the deck.
And then is tackled hugged by Mara :P

Hexor rocks back on his heels for a moment.
Of all the people to distrust me . . .
He rests his arms across his chest and wait to see how things
play out.

The first card revealed is Ruin. Gemflower knows, without a
doubt, that any and all physical property he had owned no longer
belongs to him and his pockets grow light with the lack of gold.
The second card, when he looks down at it, is The Fates. He can
feel the power hum through him, building and building until it's
aching to be released.

Once Halan is clear of the charm, he says "No way that whatever
this is, is Gemflower. None of this makes sense. But I doubt
anyone will listen to me, will you? Serves us all right."
Then instead of pursuing the issue further, he walks off a few
dozen feet and you see him muttering and moving about for about
ten minutes, apparently casting a spell.

Kiran stands side-by-side with Hexor, having watched the
exchange and the magic with interest. He nudges his partner and
taps his temple, so they're not overheard. Can we be sure it's
really him? Or, if it's not... how much trouble could that mean?

After returning Mara’s embrace, gemflower steps back to take in
the meaning of the cards. There are a few moments of silence
while Halan sulks away and gemflower looks very contemplative.
“Haha!” Gemflower bursts into laughter, throwing his hands into
the air and sending out a palpable wave of energy. “Lucky,
indeed!” He then runs and leeps onto Mara’s arms, dirty dancing
style.
He lands and turns to regard Halan. “You worry too much about
what does and doesn’t make sense. The very nature of Gemflower
was never one that made sense, but you let him watch you all
sleep.” He then turns to the rest of the group. “He’s right
though. I’m not Gemflower. My name is Tamlan, and I’m a scholar.
A cryptozoologist of sorts.” He pulls a book out of his bag and
points to a name on the bottom. “I, quite literally, wrote the
book on Fey!” The name reads Tamlan Amakir. (Anyone who speaks
elvish will know Amakir is the elven word for gemflower.)

Halan finishes his incantation and a griffon appears next to
him. "This should then be right up your alley, Tamlan Gemflower.
You never watched my sleep alone but as long as the others
trusted you I had little reason not to. But the situation has
changed a smidge, hasn't it? So what are you, what happened to
you that made you that way and how did you get out of the
magical stasis?"

"Oh the situation has changed more than a smidge. And it's going
to change a lot more. But I guess there's no reason not to
satiate your curiosity anymore, so how about we play a game?" He
swings his arms out, gesturing to all of you, while spinning
over and sitting on the ground cross legged next to Tali. (who
has been oddly quiet this whole time. She must be having a hard
time marrying all this new info in her mind ;) )
"Each of you can ask me as many questions as you like. And i'll
answer them! But the cost of each answer is one secret of your
own. If the secret is good enough, then you shall have my full
and honest answer." He claps his hands together excitedly. "Lets
get to know each other!"
He looks to Halan and cups his hands together at his chest.
Green flame begins to rise from his hands, bathing him in
sinister looking shadows like a camp counselor about to tell
scary stories. "As a show of good faith, your first question is
free, Halan. What am I? I am Tamlan. A scholar. And I guess you
could say I'm Gemflower. Or rather, Gemflower is me. He was a
construct of my mind. The nickname my fairy friends gave to me
long ago, and a fail safe I created to ensure I could one day
find my way home. You see, I'm not sure how many of you have
undergone academic training, but when you transport a large
source of energy from one location, through an intermediary
object, to another location, that intermediary object is known
as a conductor. And if the conductor is not strong enough to
hold that power it will burn to a crisp and be ruined. So you
need a regulator. Something to make sure only so much power
enters your conductor at one time. Do you follow? I'm a
conductor! And Gemflower is a regulator. He made sure my soul
never burnt away, leaving behind a husk of chaotic energy." He
shifts the flames to one hand and gestures, invitingly, to the
ground in front of him. "Who's next?"

Hexor cast a side long glance at Kiran and replies mentally - I
always felt there was more to Gemflower, hidden somewhere away.
I would advise caution, little dove. While this may be look like
Gemflower, I do not believe that it is the same person we've
traveled with.
He will then move to stand near Tamlan, pacing a bit in the
space in front of him. "Well met then Tamlan. It seems you have
much to speak of, but a secret for a secret, and only you get to
judge their worth, hardly seems a even bargain." He pauses to
think, his eyes flaring bright blue as he manifests his own
power in reply, hand gripping the blade that currently houses
Vexor's soul.
"A failsafe? So you've created a whole fragment of your mind to
safeguard yourself. It is actually quite impressive, wholly
insane and incredibly dangerous, but impressive." He stops
pacing and sits with Tamlan, reaching into his bag. He pulls out
a Dragonchess set, swiftly laying the game boards out, and
setting them up with practiced ease.
"I so rarely get a challenge these days, though Jego is
surprisingly adept. Shall we play? For each captured piece, we
each must answer one question, though we can use our question to
field to the other members of the group. Agreed?" He finishes,
both speaking and setting up the board.
