A closer look at Gemflower's bush

Once the night has settled and people retire to the rooms
provided at Mara's inn, Gemflower slinks out his window and
makes his way to the tree Tali is sleeping in. Once he has found
the appropriate tree he begins digging a whole nearby in
preparation to grow his bush. A few minutes after he has
achieved full bloom a large vine slowly begins growing out of
the base of it with noodle running out a few seconds later and
hopping on to calmly ride as it begins snaking its way up Tali's
tree. Once fully up into the tree it begins snooping around the
branches looking for Tali, noodle patiently sitting a few feet
back from the end of it. As it finds her the vine curls around,
bringing noodle and itself in front of her, and begins nudging
her shoulder in an attempt to wake her up.

Talishale feels the pressure on her shoulder and mumbles,
"That's not the code for trouble, Fitty." She rolls over and
tried to fall back to sleep. She feels the same pressure on her
shoulder again. Talishale opens her eyes and is surprised that
it is not Fitty. "Noodle?" Her eyes land on the vine on her
shoulder. "Gemflower?"

Seeing her begin to stir, the vine pulls back a bit and waits
patiently for her to fully awake. After Tali addresses them,
with understandable confusion, the tip of the vine begins to
curl back towards itself, much like a finger gesturing for
someone to follow. It then begins slowly retracting itself back
down the tree and towards the twenty foot bush that previously
wasn't there. Once it returns to the side of the bush, it turns
to point towards Tali and curls back towards itself once more.
Then Noodle and the vine slowly sink into the foliage,
disappearing from view.

*I'm being invited into the bush right?* She scrunches her nose.
*Are you sure?* She shakes her head. *Nah, I think it's a great
idea.* She rolls her eyes, and peers over the edge of the tree.
*You can tell me I told you so later*
"Fitty!" Talishale yells as she drops from her tree. "Protect my
tree." With a giant smile plastered across her face, she steps
within the bush. No hesitation.

The leaves begin to give way as Tali applies pressure, allowing
her easy passage within. After passing through only a few inches
of vegetation she finds herself inside a hollow dome of plant
life. The air is fresh and cool with the scent of wild flowers
and berries, and the sounds of wildlife are ever present, almost
as though it was in the center of a deep forest. At the top of
the dome a swirling mist collects that gives the image of a
vibrant starry night, with waves of color coursing through it
like a prismatic tide, illuminating the area with a soft
colorful glow. Near the center Gemflower reclines in a mound of
plants roughly resembling a LAZY BOY chair. Next to him a small
folding table sits with a collection of small books and one
rather large one. Hanging from the back of his makeshift
recliner is a large flower pod that begins shaking curiously
moments before noodles head pokes out the top of it for a few
seconds, and then quickly sinks back inside. Gemflower smiles at
Tali and waves excitedly to her.

Talishale's eyes widen and begin sparkling. "Wow!" she gasps as
she takes in all the magical beauty. *We need one of these.* Her
heart beats faster as a tear fights to form in her eyes. "This
is-" She shakes her head. "This is the closest to my home I have
seen in years." Her voice is low as she examines every inch of
the dome.
*Why don't I know this nature magic of his?* She huffs and rolls
her eyes. *You keep saying that, buuuuut-* She waves her hand at
their surroundings.
"This is absolutely amazing Gemflower." She smiles as she
approaches his recliner.

Gemflower leans forward in his seat with a look of curiosity and
begins trying to speak. "W-w-where... is... h-home?" The words
are very forced and each one seems to take a large amount of
concentration and effort for him to get out.
While speaking he holds out a hand to his side and off near the
wall of the dome a large patch of grass begins to thicken and
bloom numerous little flowers.

"I-" Talishale hesitates. Was that you or him? Her eyes widen.
Really? A large smile spreads across her face.
"I don't know what the world calls it." She continues as she
watches the flowers bloom. "I call it Nmerwarr. Deep within the
forest there is a large sprawl of untouched lands. North of
here. Or South. Or West. I don't remember. I can barely map
where I am now."
A sadness falls across her face. "I remember the quiet, and the
endless wilds. Untouched. Our homes were made within bushes and
trees. No noise or buildings. Just us."
She shakes her head, her smile returning. "Thank you. For
inviting me here."
"Where do you come from?" Talishale asks, a crack in her voice.
She bites her lip. "You don't have to answer."

Gemflower smiles as he listens to Tali describing her home. Next
to the growing flower bed a small sapling begins to rise up out
of the ground. When she asks him where he comes from his eyes
begin to wander as he contemplates the questions with a puzzled
look on his face. Finally, after a minute or so, he leans
forward and puts his hands together in front of Tali. "A
s-similar... place." He slowly separates his hands and in
between them an image begins to form. Like a small window into
another world, the image seems to pan over a large waterfall
pouring into a clear lake. Surrounding the lake is a dense
forest of very old trees, and all around there are tiny humanoid
creatures frolicking about. Some flying with insect-like wings.
Others swimming with the speed and agility of a school of fish.
Gemflower smiles happily as he watches the image, but suddenly
contorts his face, as though struck with sudden pain. The image
falters and blinks in and out. The misty stars above begin to
fade erratically and the leaves of the dome shake and snap.
Gemflower quickly shuts his hands and looks away with closed
eyes. He remains frozen for a moment and slowly everything
returns to normal. By this time the sapling by the flower bed
has grown to about 5 feet and produced willow branches which
hang in a circle around the bed, creating a leafy curtain.
Noticing this, Gemflower turns back to Tali with great
enthusiasm and excitement, as though nothing had just happened.
"Your... r-room!" He gestures towards the flower bed.

Talishale watches the beautiful image within Gemflower's palms
in awe. A smirk plays on her lips as she watches the story
within. When Gemflower falters her eyes stay glued to his face,
watching and feeling the emotions hidden within. We all have
demons, don't we Thraxes? Talishale nods.
When Gemflower gestures to the tree and calls it her room, she
freezes. "For, me?" Talishale stares at the beautiful willow,
confusion across her brow. This is the nicest thing any one has
ever done for me. She smirks and suddenly hugs Gemflower.
"Thank you!! For everything." She pulls back and twirls, "I
think we have a lot more in common than we know." With a giggle
and a clap, she skips into the willow.
