Sun & Surf (Usagi)

The weekend had arrived and with it came a sense of excitement.
The weather had stayed beautiful and it seemed to be that
nothing had interfered with the prospects of enjoying a nice day
out at the beach. The last few days had meant that Faust tried
to keep in contact with Usagi. Be it by getting to walk her home
and hear about her day or be it from just calling a little
before bed time and seeing if she needed help with her school
work. Faust personally sometimes was having to ask her for help
as well especially on anything pertaining to Japanese language
or culture. But now it was the weekend and that meant it was
time for some rest and relaxation.
Faust had done his best to try and prepare and pack a hearty
lunch. It might have been a bit more than was needed but Faust
wasn't quite sure about Usagi's appetite. He also wasn't certain
if they would be staying out all day and into the start of the
night and need it for dinner. He found that a slightly larger
cooler was a better choice than a picnic basket. It didn't look
as cute but it kept the food at a better temperature. It also
meant keeping sand out was a lot easier. Faust had kept the box
across his back and carried his surfboad under his arm. It
wasn't a given that Usagi would feel like giving it a try but if
she did then it was available.
At the beach he had laid out the blanket and made sure to get
everything situated. His attire was simple but appropriate which
to start was a sleeveless hunter green shirt matched by a pair
of black shorts with a neon green line along the hip. Just the
smell of the fresh air felt revitalizing for the young man and
he really knew he'd have to make more regular trips out here.
Even if he had to do so at night and for only a moment by his
hoverboard. But here was to hoping that it wouldn't have to be
too often of sneaking around. He looked over to Usagi as he sat
on the cooler.
"Well do you feel like eating first? Or going for a swim?"

Usagi had been looking forward to this day for weeks. She
was so over studying, and it's not as if her grades made a major
improvement or anything from it. If only by a little, but it
wasn't enough to avoid being grounded for still bringing home
low scores. She honestly doesn't know how her siblings find
studying so interesting that they don't fall asleep. It's so
boring. But, she was able to escape it all this weekend by being
invited to the beach by her classmate Faust. He was genuinely a
nice guy, and he gave her sweets he made that tasted amazing.
She couldn't get enough of it. But she also knew that she
couldn't get too excited since he confessed his feelings to her
a few weeks ago, and ever since then, she'd been avoiding
answering him. He wasn't pressuring her to answer him, but the
blonde felt as if she owed him an answer. Usagi didn't dislike
him, but she was conflicted as she also had feelings for a
certain masked man.
She was also the Sailor Guardian, Sailor Moon, and she didn't
want to put Faust or anyone else in danger by having her true
identity revealed. She knew that there were enemies lurking in
the shadows, sending out youma creatures to attack innocent
people and steal their energy. Usagi didn't agree with this, but
she had no choice. She had to protect the world, even if it
meant sacrificing her own desires. But today, as she walked to
the beach with Faust, she felt a sense of normalcy that she
hadn't felt in a long time. She was just a regular teenager,
going to the beach with her classmate and potential love
interest. Luna, her talking feline companion, had been against
the idea of Usagi getting involved with anyone who could
potentially become a target for their enemies. But Usagi had
assured her that everything would be fine.
She had brought the essentials for their outing, including a
traveling cat backpack for Luna. To her surprise, Faust didn't
seem to mind Luna's presence and treated it as normal. Usagi was
relieved and continued to act as if everything was normal while
Faust set up their spot on the beach. As she began to set her
stuff down, she took off the traveling backpack and unzipped it
to allow Luna to get out so she could stretch her legs and move
around while staying nearby. She couldn't exactly tell Faust
that Luna could talk, so as long as nothing happened today, she
should be fine with no reason for her to have to tell Faust
anything about her Sailor Guardian duties. She wanted to have
some fun and not think about anything serious, so that's what
she would strive for today.
After releasing Luna, Usagi had been asked if she wanted to eat
or go for a swim. The moment food was mentioned, the blonde's
stomach growled. She blushed, slightly embarrassed, as she
sheepishly rubbed the back of her head. "Let's eat first, and
then we can go for a swim," she said. She wasn't exactly ready
to go in the water just yet. Although she was wearing a
two-piece bikini, it was covered by the long pink tank top and
jean shorts she was wearing. They had all day to go in the
water, so she saw nothing wrong with filling her stomach first.
As for Luna, she made herself comfortable on the beach towel,
perched in cat bread mode. Her eyes were scoping out the area to
ensure no negative energy was brewing. So far, there was
nothing, but she didn't know how long that was going to
last.
