STRENGTHS: Sousuke has a strong sense when it comes to
being a teacher. He's very thorough when giving lessons and
assignments to his students and sets high expectations for them,
causing many of them to complain about his strict teaching
methods. He's someone that's not above giving out punishment if
he feels one is deserving of it. While he won't physically harm
anyone, considering his students love to try his patience a lot
of the time, he's known for being that one teacher that gives
out many detention slips. He is aware of this and doesn't put
stock into it since he's at school to do his job professionally
as a teacher and not be friends with his students. Outside of
work, he does enjoy going hiking on the weekends or reading an
occasional mystery novel to cure his boredom. Sousuke also has a
vegetable garden which he takes pride in growing given that he
is a vegetarian. He's sociable to an extent but doesn't make it
a point to socialize with his fellow coworkers outside of work.
He will speak to them, even if it's to point out the flaws in
their teaching methods.
WEAKNESSES: Sousuke is an honest person whenever speaking
to people which comes across to others as him being rude even if
it's not the intention. He just has a low tolerance for general
laziness no matter who someone is. It's often hard to tell when
he's having a bad day because the air he gives off when around
others make it seem like to them that he's always in a bad mood
when it's not the case. This was something that was known about
him when he himself attending school and it hasn't since left
him either. He isn't the most sociable person either, preferring
to stay to himself even though he may have wants and desires, he
has always been known for being awkward around others. This is
why many don't know much about him because he doesn't give away
anything for people to assume. Guess maybe, but not outright
know about him. He keeps his personal life to himself,
especially pertaining to his sexual interests that he outright
refuses to talk to about with ANYONE at work. He actively avoids
these topics when they arise around other teachers.

History
Sousuke Leiko is a born resident of Tokyo, Japan. He has an
older brother Shousuke that he doesn't talk about much to anyone
but that doesn't mean he won't talk to him. Like any siblings,
they don't see eye to eye on a lot of things but they in a sense
get along. Their parents never treated them differently from one
another but the two boys often had their competitive streaks
about them when they were kids and teenagers. Sousuke had always
made good grades while Shousuke was more athletic. Their
strengths were the other's weakness but it never stopped them
from trying to prove which one of them was better at something.
Both of them attended school at Juuban as well and it was always
Sousuke that was the more awkward one of the two that just
couldn't socialize very well with others. He took everything
seriously, no matter what it was which many didn't find to be
fun at all whenever he was around. He was even considered a
teacher's pet even though he was never trying to gain favor from
his teachers.
He simply did his work and did as he was told. Though this
didn't keep him from noticing that many teachers at Juuban
didn't take their jobs seriously. When he attended the school,
there was an insanely high number of bullied students and there
were only a small handful of teachers that cared about this and
did their best to help the students who couldn't protect
themselves from those that were clearly much stronger than them
and knowing this, they take delight and amusement out of beating
someone weaker than them senseless. Students that didn't think
Sousuke wasn't boring or a teacher's pet would sometimes go to
him to ask for help which he took seriously and reported any
incidents and problems that were addressed to him. Given that he
was one of the former presidents of the Disciplinary Squad, this
was his job to bring matters to the officials of the school. The
school back then originally had a lazy headmaster and vice
headmaster that were fired by the time he'd graduated from
Juuban.
He may have had very little success but that didn't stop him
from having the desire to do more. So he'd decided once he
graduated that he would go to school to become a teacher. He
attended Todai University whereas his brother attended Kyoto
University on an athletic scholarship and worked his ass off in
order to gain a license and the knowledge of teaching. This
includes how to deal with difficult situations involving
students when they arise which is key. He was never one that was
great when it came to talking to people so trying to talk to
those younger than himself and understand their problems was new
ground for him considering that many kids and teenagers these
days find take everything dramatically when it really isn't. But
he didn't want to be one of those teachers that ignored their
students when they needed help the most. However, he would be
stern and honest with them as well as setting high expectations
of his students when it came to their grades and assignments.
After all, he felt that he didn't need to be his students'
friends in order to help them. He felt it better to be their
teacher but still understanding their troubles.
He finished his degree and schooling at Todai and around the age
of twenty-five, he was hired as a teacher at his former school
teaching the Japanese classes for eighth, ninth, and tenth-year
students. He's also the sponsor of the book club and
disciplinary club as well. Things hadn't changed much between
the teachers and students practically trying to kill each other
for no reason over things that didn't make sense and Sousuke
felt the need to change that. So with the new headmaster and
vice headmistress running the school and trying to get things in
order, he brought up suggestions to them such as monthly
meetings between the teachers to discuss any problems or
concerns they may have and actually using detention for sending
students that are actually being disruptive and destructive in
class rather than sending away students that are simply
"bothering" teachers. They agreed to this despite how annoyed
the other teachers felt about it and finding it to be useless
but the school heads didn't think so and liked Sousuke's
suggestions.
The other teachers got over the changes eventually and just did
their jobs as normal but they knew they had to take their jobs
more seriously if they wanted to keep them. This did put him at
odds with many of his fellow co-workers which Sousuke wasn't
there to make friends with them. Like most jobs, there was
always gossip floating around as if the adults themselves were
back in high school and he found it to be annoying and
ridiculous. It's why he keeps everything personal about his life
to himself. Whatever he likes to do and if he does have a
"romantic interest", he won't tell anyone. This doesn't mean
they don't attempt to pry it out of him though but he doesn't
wish to be given the "gay teacher" stigma. Oh yes, Sousuke is
gay and the only person that is aware of this is his older
brother, which he regrets telling because he has a habit of
attempting to set him up on blind dates with strange friends of
his or just people that he knows who are gay and assumes that
Sousuke would be interested. It's part of the reason why he
dreads it when his brother says he wishes to come in town to
spend time with him. Much to his annoyance.
Things have gotten better at Juuban since Sousuke's been a
teacher there and some of the other teachers have followed suit
in keeping down as much conflict as possible. Nowadays, he deals
with the average lazy students that make poor grades and is
known as the teacher that gives out detention the most compared
to the others. If you're always late, you get sent to detention
for Sosuke expects ALL of his students to arrive on time. If you
show up late without an excuse or reason and he doesn't believe
you, detention is where you go. He doesn't regret his decision
to become a teacher either and while he doesn't often say it, he
is proud of many of his students that have passed his classes
without problems and shows annoyance to those who don't bother
to try and constantly fail. However, he doesn't ignore them
either and just continues to fail them. He does take notice of a
change in work ethic, be it good or bad. He shows concern in a
stern manner that people are used to but he is capable of having
it.
That said, he can be a person when he wants to be for he does
have hobbies. He loves to read, loves going hiking on weekends,
and gardening. For he owns a vegetable garden that his brother
tends to make fun of him for and often tells him that he eats
like a rabbit and that he's hard to cook for because he doesn't
eat meat. So he's not so strange but he is a private kind of
person and prefers to keep it that way.
