Ruby Henshin Pen - A ruby colored henshin pen decorated in pink
jewels is the item that Daphne possesses that allows her to
transform into "Sailor Ruby" by calling out "Ruby Power, Make
Up!". She throws her arms upward and twirls around in a burst of
sparkles as her sailor fuku appears on her body in a swirl of
pink energy. Her gloves dissolve onto her hands, the same with
her boots, and tiara, then concludes her transformation by
performing a few acrobatic flips before landing on her feet and
placing her hands on her hips and flashing a smile.
Ruby Bell - The Ruby Bell is the item that takes the form of a
pink heart with a bow on top and a yellow bell in the middle of
the bow and this very bell allows Sailor Ruby to perform the
attack "Ruby Beam Illusion".
Ruby Beam Illusion - To perform this attack, Sailor Ruby uses
the Ruby Bell to create a huge red light of power that blinds
her enemies for about a second and creates an illusion of
herself to confuse her enemies by tricking them into thinking
that they're attacking her when they're really attacking a
hologram version of her. This attack gives Sailor Ruby a chance
to perform sneak attacks when her enemies least expect her to.
Ruby Beam Illusion - To perform this attack, Sailor Ruby uses
the Ruby Bell to create a huge red light of power that blinds
her enemies for about a second and creates an illusion of
herself to confuse her enemies by tricking them into thinking
that they're attacking her when they're really attacking a
hologram version of her. This attack gives Sailor Ruby a chance
to perform sneak attacks when her enemies least expect her to.
Hand to Hand Combat - Daphne is physically and capable of
defending herself in a fight against someone. Having
participated in acrobatic performances with her mother as a
child, she's used these very moves in physical fights against
her enemies. They usually consist of jumping, punches, kicks,
and kick flips. This isn't to say that she isn't a strong
fighter. Her moves only work against weaker fighters but she
could easily be bested by someone who is more skilled.
APPEARANCE:
Daphne is 5'2" with crimson colored eyes and dual colored green
and crimson hair that stops halfway down her back and the top
part of her hair sticking out in a downwards pointing spikes all
around her head with the exception of one short upwards pointing
spike of green hair. She wears a pendant that her mother gave
her on a string around her neck, a buckled choker and a pair of
golden goggles with orange lenses on her forehead with a blue
star obscuring the right lens. As a simple person who doesn't
care the least bit about fashion, her attire is simple and
usually consists of her wearing an orange t-shirt with a thick,
silver buckled brown belt over it and green shorts with magenta
sneakers as well as crimson wristbands. She also wears one of
her sister's old white school uniform jacket that's lined with
the colors of gold and red over her shoulders like a cape. She
doesn't like to wear feminine clothing, feeling vulnerable and
embarrassed in such attire so she would mostly wear either
shorts or pants with sneakers. As "Sailor Ruby

/>her appearance does become more elegant and feminine much to h

dislike but it makes hiding her civilian identity easier. The
colors of her uniform consist of three: crimson, green, orange.
Her v-neck color is crimson colored with one white stripe going
around it, the bow being orange, her skirt green, and her boots
are also crimson colored. Her gloves go up past her elbows along
with a golden tiara on her forehead with a crimson colored jewel
in the center. Her goggles aren't part of her uniform when she
transforms but she tends to wear them over her eyes anyway to
add to the mystery of her identity.

CHARACTER HISTORY:
Daphne Scarlet is the youngest daughter of parents Erza Scarlet
and Dennis Scarlet and younger sister to Daisy, Dawn, Dorothy
and Delilah. Daphne's parents met as children who were abandoned
in an orphanage by their parents and relied on each other to
survive. It was an orphanage in the states that took care of
their children well but many people that wanted kids, didn't
want older children. Erza and Dennis were in their early preteen
years and as time has changed over the years, so has the
mentality of teenagers. Many aren't easily trusted by adults
which caused them to be constantly overlooked by those wanting
to start a family. Erza made her own job to keep and eye on the
younger kids in the orphanage who always looked up to her. She
was someone that Dennis would describe as originally being shy
and often crying a lot but grew up beautifully the older she
became. Two years into their teenage years, they were old enough
to start applying for work and was encouraged by the orphanage
workers along with others around their age to start trying to
gain some work ethic.
Dennis was a more calculated and smart person that won over
others easily when it came to finding work while Erza wasn't so
lucky. Her approach to others was aggressive but it wasn't
intentional, thus she was often overlooked for even the easiest
of jobs. But she was quite a determined person that kept her
hopes up high. Being around so many kids, protecting them and
entertaining them, she never realized it before that she had a
knack for making people smile. Sometimes the adults at the
orphanage would smile as well and applaud Erza anytime she would
do little tricks, act out lines from movies in a comical manner,
or even perform cool semi-acrobatic moves such as doing hand
stands and back flips. She found joy in doing this and it was
from this that she decided that she could do things like this as
a profession. It started with just being simple entertainment
for kids parties in various neighborhoods and families would pay
her to entertain their children. Doing this allowed her to
finally establish some work ethic somewhere which made her happy
and Dennis was happy seeing her this way. However, it was after
leaving a birthday party that Erza's life took a strange yet
unexpected turn.
Never before she would've believed it herself if it'd not
happened to her but she'd seen a woman running and screaming
frantically for her life and being the type of person that she
was, she was obligated to help the woman. What she figured to be
some burglar trying to steal or have his way turned out to be
some largely deformed creature that was sucking out the life
force of those it came into contact with. Erza had never seen
anything like this before and had no idea what to even do but in
her heart she knew that she couldn't allow that thing to hurt
someone innocent and just as it was about to suck out the
woman's life force, she stepped in front of her, becoming the
creature's target instead. She told the woman to run as far away
as she could, which she did while Erza was having her life
drained out of her but what saved her life was the appearance of
a powerful small pendant appearing before her and seeing this,
it was as if she knew that it belonged to her. She wasted no
time grabbing it, having done so she became the Sailor Guardian
known as "Sailor Ruby", a warrior represented under the crimson
colored stone. She fought the creature using the power she'd
gained and defeated it while wondering literally "what in the
hell just happened?".
The first person she told after this happened was Dennis who
didn't believe her at first until she showed him the pendant and
used it to transform. There was no lies in her story when he saw
this but wondered just why she was specifically given such
power. Admittedly, he wasn't going to deny that seeing her like
that, made her more beautiful to him but he was often rather
reluctant in admitting his feelings to her. However, he was
willing to help her keep her secret whenever she went out late
to fight. With the new power, she also gained more flexibility
in her moves which were helpful during fights but she knew she
needed to build up more endurance. The city she lived in was
constantly having people getting attacked and she knew it was
her duty to protect them but often wondered was there more out
there like her and if there were, did they have answers to the
many questions that arose. She only told Dennis about her
concerns but he was the only one that knew. As they grew into
their adult years, Erza and Dennis finally did get together,
both of them starting their own lives outside of the orphanage
but they would never forget the place in which they grew up.
Both of them got jobs, Dennis having became part of the Army for
a little while and then later a lawyer and Erza decided to stick
with entertaining people. She became a famous acrobat that was
widely known around the world and often did shows with other
performs.
Erza and Dennis didn't start having children until much later
which started out as one became four girls with different
personalities of their own. They named their daughters Daisy,
Dawn, Dorothy, Delilah and Daphne. Daphne was the youngest who
adored her mother very much and became quite inspired by her
mother's performances that she too wanted too wanted to become a
performer. As a child, Daphne was your average little girl that
often cried when something happened and she didn't know what to
do. Erza often gave her advice in a comical and aggressive
manner but one thing she always told her girls was to always
wear a smile no matter the situation. She knew how hard it was
to do that sometimes as things could often go from good to bad
but she wanted Daphne to grow up having fun and smiling for
others when they can't. This advice has often helped Daphne
through her troubles, especially during her school days. Her
older sisters were far more successful and smart whereas Daphne
wasn't. Daphne was smart in different areas but it wasn't
something that her parents looked down on her for. Her sisters
would often tease her but not in a manner that made them look
like they didn't like their baby sister. They loved their baby
sister. Well, they loved playing dress up with her more than
anything.
Yes, if there's one thing that Daphne's older sister gained from
their mother was her love of sweets and cute things. Daphne
didn't like wearing dresses all that much because they made her
feel so vulnerable. She was a lot more modest about her body
than her mother and her sisters who showed no discomfort in what
they wore around others. They saw no problem with this but it
didn't stop them from dressing their sister up in cute little
dresses when she was younger. Daphne also didn't have a problem
interacting with other kids her age either and a lot of them
were aware of who her mother was as a famous acrobatic perform,
having seen her shows and many would comment on how awesome she
was which made Daphne so happy to see so many people attending
her mother's shows. It was from that she became encouraged to
try and entertain her classmates which would usually end in her
doing something that was usually embarrassing but as long as
others got a kick out of it, she didn't care how embarrassing it
was. She wasn't good at trying to act out anything she'd seen
from shows and movies as she did it so poorly that others found
it funny or cute when she tried to do so.
Her teachers weren't as thrilled and believed the child needed
to find a new hobby that wasn't so disruptive. It was clear that
there were some people who didn't like her mother or had never
seen her mother perform so beautifully on a stage that could
just put a crowd in awe. She wasn't a bad child but it was felt
by her teachers that she needed something more stimulating to
occupy her time and mind that didn't involve doing things what
they found to be silly and childish. Daphne was having fun and
she didn't see anything wrong with that. Her parents encouraged
her to not let others take away her smile. Not everyone will
like what she does but there will be some who will. They just
told her to be careful to do it when it was appropriate so
teachers wouldn't become upset with her. She followed that
advice but her teachers still found her antics to be childish
and annoying. This way of thinking for her teachers followed
Daphne even in middle school. It wasn't as easy entertaining her
classmates but that didn't stop her from trying. Around this
time, she was old enough to participate in her mother's shows
which she enjoyed having that opportunity to do so because it
was fun. Sure it made her look childish but she didn't care and
would often ignore her teachers and classmates who didn't want
to smile to entertain the ones that did.
It's pretty safe to say that her grades weren't up to par either
but the money earned from her parents jobs put her and her
sisters in schools they wanted to attend to do what they liked
doing and wanted to pursue as a career. Daisy became a doctor,
Dawn became a model, Dorothy became a race car driver and
Delilah joined the Marine Corps. They all had their dreams and
were pursuing them. Oftentimes they'd tell Daphne that she needs
to decide on a more serious career to follow which she of
course, ignored. Overall, they were still a pretty good happy
family together. That is until tragedy had struck them
unexpectedly. Erza and the rest of the performance were offered
the chance to perform their shows overseas, which meant they
would go outside of the states and put on various shows. Her
family was of course invited to join them as guests to watch but
Daphne's sisters were too busy. Dennis had decided that he
needed to take some time off and wanted the chance to watch his
wife perform for a change and Daphne got to go along with them.
They'd traveled to three countries before setting up a show in
Japan in the Tokyo Dome in the most amazing and beautiful
country ever. Daphne was more intrigued by the different types
of food and all the anime based cafes within Tokyo than
anything. She'd ask for her father to buy her shirts she thought
were cool and other things for her to take back home and show
her classmates as souvenirs.
What was supposed to be a fun trip turned into disaster. Erza
still had her powers as a Sailor Guardian but never told her
children about them. Someone was being attacked and she was
quick to jump into action. By then, she'd become a much stronger
Sailor Guardian, her powers having evolved which made the very
first attacks she gained to be much stronger than they were
before. But they weren't strong enough to fend off against an
enemy she'd never fought against before. A creature that
originally was in the form of a seedling took form from the
energy nearby and began to attack those that were within its
vicinity. A powerful plant type creature that drained her energy
each time it attacked her. But it wasn't just this one but two
more taking form, feeding off the energy of the first creature
and all of them attacking Erza at once. It was during this fight
that she became severely injured. Not only at the hands of the
bizarre creatures but someone who clearly had strong control
over them that appeared. The shadow of a young woman that was
obviously enjoying the fact that she failed to defeat what she
addressed as "her babies". She didn't reveal her name but had
revealed to her that no matter how strong a Sailor Guardian
would be, they would NEVER defeat the "Princess of Disaster".
Erza was found and rushed to the hospital, her husband had been
notified and he quickly rushed him and Daphne to the Jurojin
Hospital where she'd been taken. Dennis had often feared that
Erza would become so badly hurt but kept those worries to
himself and believed that she would always return to him safely.
Daphne was also worried about her mother but not for the same
reasons her father was. She just wanted her mother to get better
soon and stayed by her side. The one moment that Daphne had left
the room, when she was awake she told Dennis what happened. That
there was someone out there really trying to harm people. The
darkness she felt from those creatures that attacked her was
from someone who was deeply hurting and pouring all of that hurt
into them to hurt others. Her injuries had broken quite a few of
her bones, not to mention she'd been stabbed in various places
with the creatures vines that left visible holes in her body
that were covered with bandages. Erza knew that she wasn't going
to make it and so the last thing she did was give Dennis her
henshin pen that allowed her to transform. She wanted him to
give it to Daphne and to find those that were also Sailor
Guardians and fight to protect them from the "Princess of
Disaster" and stop her from further hurting people. Dennis
didn't want that for Daphne but he wouldn't hate her or be upset
with her if it was what she'd decided to do. Erza had died two
days later from her injuries.
The group in which Erza performed for had a special service for
her, dedicating it to her and her family for they were deeply
saddened by losing one of the best performers they ever had and
her fans were also deeply saddened as well. However, no one was
more saddened than her family. Daphne was angry that someone was
allowed to simply just get away with hurting her mother and not
doing anything about it. Someone hurt her mother and she wanted
to know who it was. Dennis comforted her while at the same time
being conflicted on what to do in regards to what Erza had asked
of him. He knew there was no specific person that did this that
could be given a name and he knew that his daughters would want
to know if they found the person responsible. He had hoped that
once returning home, things would return to normal but their
home was just riddled with sadness. He wanted to change that and
he knew that Erza wouldn't want their daughters to be sad. She'd
want them to know that she died protecting others but she'd
known that only Daphne would be the one that'd want to finish
what she'd began. So he eventually told his daughters what
really happened. His oldest daughters thought he was joking and
making a mockery of their mother but upon taking out Erza's
henshin pen, he'd handed it to Daphne.
He told her that Erza wanted her to have it and to find other
Sailor Guardians that were out there but he knew that for that
to happen, they would have to go back to the place where she'd
died. He didn't want to put them through that but Daphne had
taken the henshin pen and while holding it up she declared that
if this is what her mother was doing then she was going to
continue doing it too. To stop all the bad things from
happening, to keep people from getting hurt and to protect them.
She wanted to go back to Japan in hopes that maybe she'd find
some answers there about these "Sailor Guardians". Her mother
knew of none where they lived but it was possible that there may
have been some that lived there in Japan. Daphne wanted to be
sure and thus it turned into their lives being uprooted from
living in the states to living in Japan. Doing research before
returning, she'd found out about a school surrounded by rumors
of similar things happening that happened to her mother. She
wanted to attend there and see for herself if any of it was true
and if she'd possibly find out if any Sailor Guardians attended
there but were just hiding who they were. Of course since Daphne
wasn't a guardian herself, Dennis was weary of this but trusted
his daughter and moved them both to Japan. As for her sisters,
they were used to traveling around the word but their own jobs
kept them busy. They would either come to Japan to visit or if
their jobs extended them the courtesy of going that far.
Admittedly, Daphne thought her sisters were being selfish but
she understood partially that they couldn't just change their
lives over to something different on the spot because of
something their mother did and said. She hated leaving her
friends behind but she wanted to find out more answers in
regards to her mother's death and just who the Sailor Guardians
were. Upon her return to Japan, Daphne was enrolled into Tsukuba
Academy as high school student that lived in campus. She was
pretty amazed that there was some students that knew about her
mother and saw her performances. Then there were those that did
who made the mistake in trying to make up lies regarding her
mother's death which she would immediately shut up anyone that
dared. She was surprised at how large the school was and how
many students were housed within it. She kept her true
objectives of why she was there to herself but for the most
part, found it to be a pretty normal school and was starting to
doubt the rumors that circulated it. That is until she'd
actually witness two students getting attacked by someone.
Someone that was not human apparently. She wasn't sure what to
believe they were but no normal person was born with wings and
would eat on people unless it was just some weird fetish they
had.
Whatever they were, she wasn't going to just stand by and let it
happen and of course she didn't think out just what she was
going to do to stop it. It was a demonic humanoid that liked to
eat humans at night while taking on the guise of being a regular
person during the day. It wasn't any specific student that she
knew but it was clear they did go there and was using the school
as its feeding grounds. She became its next target and it'd
taken a bite out of her leg, leaving its teeth prints behind for
what saved her from losing her leg and any other limb was her
mother's henshin pen. It'd appeared before her, glowing due to
her determination to protect the students that were being harmed
and like her mother she took it and was able to transform into
the new "Sailor Ruby". She wasn't sure what to make of it the
transformation but she fought long enough to allow the students
to make their escape. She almost didn't escape herself since
she'd never fight against some other worldly creature before.
She didn't take it out but she did injury it enough to make it
retreat and go into hiding. This wasn't the last of the strange
occurrences that happened on campus for her. They weren't
related to her mother's death but they did raise more questions
as to why a school like this was allowed to stay open and
running with so much danger surrounding it.
She knew that trying to warn someone that had no idea or didn't
believe in such things wouldn't work so she wouldn't say
anything and would just observe from the shadows of anyone that
may have been aware of what was going on there on top of still
working on her own mission as well. She knew her mother wouldn't
want her sad so she would keep on smiling for her sake. She'd
also work hard to stay a student in a school that was clearly
above her educational level but like her mother, she wasn't
going to give up. Whatever evil was going on, she was going to
put an end to it and try her best not to flunk out in school. It
wasn't easy trying to find where she fit in at, at Tsukuba but
the president of the host club seemed to take an interest in her
talent and asked of her to join which she couldn't say no to.
The club had its own strange way of entertaining those that
visited the club but she became to understand how things were
ran little by little and became a hit. This also allowed her to
see that there were a lot of students that were a mixture of
human and non-human which was also strange but Daphne wasn't
someone that judged others. If they weren't bothering anyone
then why would she bother them.
She hadn't been There long but she was learning more about the
students, her classmates, and the school itself. She did like it
there and she felt obligated to protect everyone. Daphne desires
to follow in her mother's footsteps and become an acrobatic
entertainer and making people smile. She uses her newly acquired
powers to do that and finds being a Sailor Senshi to be fun but
still takes the fights seriously enough to avoid denying or
getting too seriously injured. That said, despite the loss of
her mother, she tries to keep her believes alive and make people
smile.
