       pulse oximeters

I would like to raise a concern about oximeters. From our
observations at Lifebox, oximeter performance (SpO2, motion
resistance, perfusion, battery life, probe life, robustness etc
etc) varies very significantly between devices.
Unless oximeters placed on the catalogue are independently
assessed, it will be difficult for purchasers to know precisely
what is being purchased. I would strongly recommend that some
kind of verification is included to ensure maximum clinical
value is gained for any purchaser

Thanks for raising this concern, Iain, which is related to
similar comments about oxygen concentrators. As you will see in
a response on that thread, the argument for testing is very
compelling and we agree it is very important. We will make this
an agenda item for the next TRG meeting and raise the issue with
       our donor.
       Regards,
       Bev
