       What has been the impact of the invasion on this conflict and,
       more generally, on relations between Ukrainians of Russian
       origin and the rest? Putin's invasion has severely damaged
       relations between the Russian and Ukrainian peoples, but at the
       same time it has brought about a kind of consolidation of
       Ukrainian society. After February 24, even people who had some
       political illusions about Russia's progressive role became
       convinced enemies of Moscow.

       the western part of Ukraine are ready to
       help the refugees from the east and are showing their support
       with concrete actions. To be sure, some people have pursued an
       exclusionary and extremist agenda, claiming that
       Russian-speakers are "Putin's agents." We know that Russian
       culture will be associated with the culture of the oppressors
       for a long time (until Putin's regime is overthrown by the
       Russians themselves). But we are ready to oppose any kind of
       linguistic or cultural discrimination and we hope that
       solidarity will prevail.

       We have also seen that ordinary people in the self-proclaimed
       Donbas republics are tired of Moscow using them in the war
       against the Ukrainians. Of course, most of them consider Russian
       their native language, but they also do not want to give up
