Padme entered the bridge silently, stopping to watch the
viewscreen in awe. She had read about space worms in books and
seen hologram projections at the academy, but it was nothing
like seeing the creatures up close. There were so many swirling
colors and shapes...but one color stood out to her. She
approached the viewscreen to get a closer look, then turned to
Edmund. "Captain, the creature is in pain. It seems to be dying-
and not by any natural force."

Hermione looked with concern. She hated any
creature in pain. She hoped she and the doctor would be able to
help. And maybe the communications officer could contact it if
it was sentient.

Merida watched the creature. There had been no signs of it being
hostile, but as head of tactical; she was in no means ready to
let her guard down.
She hoped something more interesting would happy quickly,
watching a worm inch through space, even a bright glowing one
living in the vacuum of space.

Everyone gasped at once. Jack was in awe. The worm had suddenly
started to change colors, varying in every hue and shade
imaginable. And it wasn't just glowing anymore; it was sparkling
- like the stars it lived between had suddenly become it and
where glittering within the very soul of the being.
There were no words to describe it. Jack couldn't believe his
frosty eyes, he couldn't ever remember seeing something so
magnificent and beautiful.

Lucy had been trying to figure out what to do, what orders to
give. What questions to ask.
She stopped when it started singing.
The music could be heard throughout all of the ship, she had
never heard anything like it.

John listened as the sound filled the ship. He
looked at his readings, and saw that it was transmitted from
sound, light and radio waves, back to sound as it hit the ship.
He had no idea creatures could even do something like this. His
eyes widened and softened as the music flowed through them. It
was more than just music. It somehow reached into the very core
beings of their souls. He felt saddened, and in pain.

Aang looked at the beautiful creature, heard the beautiful
music, but it wasn't a beauty that defined happiness, such as
gazing upon beautiful mountains, or a sparkling, gurgling river.
It was a painful beauty. "It's a lament," Aang said quietly, but
everyone heard him, even with the beautiful, sad lullaby
thrumming through the ship and their own bodies.

Duck didn't know what to do. "Should I tell the Captain that I
know that melody? Should I keep it a secret? I feel like its
somehow for me. How else would anyone know this song?" Duck
didn't have a clue, but she did know, she had to dance.
So against every once of common sense she had, which wasn't
much; she began ballet. She didn't care that her shoes weren't
right, or that she couldn't move like she wanted in her uniform.
She just danced feeling the music and her moves becoming one.
As she pirouette, shasaed, and glided around her little office;
she began to feel something.

Aang suddenly stood up. He had a sudden,
overpowering impulse, but he had to give a good reason for it.
"I... have to go see Junior Lieutenant Duck." He said to Captain
Pevensie (Sorry... idk how to spell that :/ ) He couldn't give a
good reason. He didn't even know his reason, but he knew it was
extremely imperative he did so. "I must consult her. Permission
to leave the bridge, sir?"

Padme nodded at Aang's previous comment. "The creature is crying
out in pain, but I have no idea why. Perhaps it is too far from
home? Lost? Being attacked?"

Now Merida's interest was perked, maybe a bit more than perked
if truth be told. A distraught creature would mean two things -
it could be dangerous, and they would have to help it.
"And if Duck's in trouble...." Merida nibbled on her lip as her
explosion of a ponytail swayed.

(I really don't know what to write so this is going to be short)
As soon as the tune hit her ears, all her suspicions were
erased. The music was beautiful, but strangely saddening. It was
as if Toph could feel the sorrow and hurt in the music. But
where was it coming from? There was something she was not
understanding and it was going to linger in the back of her mind
until she could figure it out.

Uryu glanced up startled at the sound of the music that began to
sound throughout the ship. Now his curiosity was perked . . . it
was time to join the commotion on the bridge.

(Idk what to do with my other characters right now so . . . I'll
just stick with Toph and Uryu for a little while)

In the Med center Tifa suddenly grabbed the edge of a metal
examining table to keep from falling over as the music blared
over the PA.
"Tifa, What's wrong?" Han put his hand gently on his wife's
shoulder.
"That-that's not possible-" Tifa whispered under her breath,
"You died a long time ago!"
Han turned her face until her eyes met his, "Tifa, calm down.
What's not possible? Who are you talking about?"
Tifa jerked away from his touch and fled from the room. She had
to find where this song was coming from!
