The U.S.S. Vespergon Chapter one: An Interesting New Phenomenon

"Mr. Holmes, please report to the bridge." Sherlock's eyes
opened sleepily and he groaned. This was John's kind of thing,
not his. So, grumbling, he turned over, pulling the blankets
back over himself. A few seconds later. "Mr. Holmes, acknowledge
please." the first officer's voice was starting to sound
annoyed. Sherlock decided his "acknowledgement" would be a very
loud groan. It wasn't like he slept often... Why did they have
to wake him up the one time he was sleeping. "Mr. Holmes,
please. I'd like to avoid sending security to your room to
escort you to the bridge." Sherlock sighed, exasperated,
deciding it was pointless he sat up. "Acknowledged," he sighed
annoyed. "Thank-you," Commander Lucy finished, and the comm
clicked off. Sherlock looked at the time, and supposed it was
rather late in the morning, reading 10:23 hundred hours. He
slowly got into his normal clothes, and sleepily entered the
world of the Novar ship.
How did he, not a member of the Novar, end up on a
Galaxy Class Starfighter? Well, obviously it was because of
John. The two had gotten a flat share years and years ago. John
then decided to join the Novar Academy. Sherlock of course, had
accompanied him. First there were protests from authorities, but
pretty soon everyone had just accepted the fact.

John rolled his eyes as Sherlock stepped off the
Turbovator, stumbling slightly and sleepy. He smiled, shaking
his head slightly, as he turned back to his control panel, back
to his job. He smothered his laughter as Sherlock demanded why
he had been called to the bridge when, for one he wasn't a
member of Novar and, second he had been sleeping.

Hermione sighed as the Consultant, or at least, that
was his equivillant, asking insubordinately about why his
presence was required. She was rather annoyed herself that he
was needed at all, and rather wanted to know the exact reasoning
for his presence on the bridge.

Aang just smiled knowingly at the deep, annoyed
voice of the all too-well-known Mr. Holmes, as he clicked at his
navigators panel, glancing up at the big screen, where yet
another strange anomelly was presenting itself.

Lucy's bright blue-grey eyes met the consultant's deep grey
ones. A million witty remarks danced on the tip of her tongue,
but she held them all back. She knew he'd understand them all
anyways.
"Please, Mr. Holmes, your expertise if you don't mind," Lucy
said in her cool, high voice. It ringed with just a touch of
excitement however, at the discovery of a new phenomenon.
Her golden curled pony tail swung as she turned back to the view
screen. A few soft ringlets bounced off her forehead and face as
the shadow of smile crossed her features.

Jack Frost simply stared up at the image before him. With the
ship in full stop, there was little for him to do.

Duck had been reading in her office, when Dr. Watson had been
called to the bridge. She flipped on the Visual-Audio
Information Learn or the the VAIL. Essentially, she was able to
hear and see what was going on in the bridge and the view
screen. They could only be found in Sickbay and Engineering, and
only then a few with high clearance could access them.
They were put in place so that those who needed to know what was
happening without having to leave and go the bridge.
She scratched at her feathers as she stared in wonder.

Sighing slightly and quietly, Sherlock turned his
attention to the screen as well, on full alert. He raised one
eyebrow in speculation.

Padme turned around from where she was sitting in Ten-Four. She
abandoned the delicious jasmine tea and made her way to the
bridge. It felt as though trouble was brewing, and she had a
feeling Mr. Holmes had something to do with it...
Link continued playing his harp. A beautiful woman had been
sitting near him only moments ago, but she had left so suddenly
that he didn't have any time to ask for her name. She seemed to
really enjoy the plucking of the harp he had in his hands, so he
concluded she would probably be back to hear more. He relaxed
his shoulders and switched from a major key to a pentatonic
scale, giving his music an oriental air.

(Didn't know exactly how to jump in so . . . here goes nothing
:D)
Uryu sat in his office when the commotion began. It seemed there
was something going on at the bridge. He contemplated whether or
not he should go as well. After a few moments he settled on not
going unless his presence was required. So he sat back down and
continued to work.

Toph could feel the awe sifting through the air as people gazed
upon the screen. On days like this she wished she could see.

Sherlock peered at it. "It appears to be a
large space worm," he said. He wondered vaguely why they needed
him for this. Shouldn't John and some of the others be able to
handle it? Maybe it was just a precautionary. If it was,
Sherlock was very annoyed he'd been woken up.

John nodded. "I'm getting strange readings from
it, Captain," John said, looking at the readings. "Sherlock
appears to be right. The only question is how it's surviving."
John said, turning around to look at the main view screen. "I
can assume it may be creating it's own heat, considering the
glow it's emitting."

Aang turned around to face Dr. Watson and the
Captain. "Yes, it would appear that Dr. Watson's hypothesis
would be correct, since I'm reading a strange electrical field
from it."

A worm huh? That's what this is all about? Toph shook her head
in disappointment. She'd expected more, after going through all
that commotion. Unless it could be . . . you sly dog, she
thought, a grin played at her lips and she slipped out of the
room, unnoticed.

Hermione gazed at the beautiful and
fascinating worm on the screen. A million questions ran through
her head. It was beautiful, as it curled and twisted in space.
She had to get a better chance to study it! The worm had many
legs, and glowing strangely and blue, it pulsed. "How does it
get oxygen?" she asked aloud. "We also need to determine if it's
sentient or not," she finished, still watching the giant,
fascinating space worm. This was too good of an opportunity to
pass up.

Captain Edmund Pevensie listened quietly to the buzz of
commotion around him. The rest of the crew members seemed to
know what to do without his guidance. Good. That sort of thing
was important. "Can we determine it's origins?" he asked.
