Link's face was competely red. The new woman laughed and held
out her hand. The other woman just sat on the bench, looking at
him in surprise, her mouth open. He looked up and took the hand
of the new woman, hoisting himself up from the ground. Maybe I
can play this off.. he thought to himself, then started laughing
along with the brown-haired maiden and her friend, who had
joined in shortly after. He smiled. "Sorry to disturb you,
ladies," he said, "I was just climbing this tree to get to some
fruit..." he ventured, trying to sound as normal as possible.
Padme giggled. "Here, have some of min," she offered to the
strange boy. He took it gratefully, face red. The poor kid must
be so embarrassed, she thought. "I'm Padme," she said to the
boy, "and this is Belle." He smiled back, face still red, and
bowed lightly. "I'm Link," he said. "I work in the palace
assisting the cook."

"Really?" Belle said, finally able to breathe again. "That must
be fun. Cook is really nice."

Link remembered then where he had seen Belle. "You work as a
maid, don't you?"
His eyes glanced back over to Padme. The only time he'd seen her
was when she came to the courtyard to tend to her roses and
read. What did she do...?

"Yeah," she replied. "I mostly work the halls, so I move around
the castle a lot." She noticed his glance at Padme and smiled.

Link then excused himself and walked away, toward the throne
room to pick up the order for the royal family. "They always
want something different every night," he muttered under his
breath.
Padme turned to Belle when Link was out of earshot. "Something
tells me he wasn't up that tree for fruit," she said with a wry
smile.

Belle glanced at her friend. "Nope. Probably not, seeing as it's
a maple tree. But he didn't harm anybody, so there's no reason
to make a big deal. We'll care if he unexpectedly appears
again."

Dean noticed Link walking his way and he stopped him and put him
in a head lock. "I saw that epic failure little bro!" Link
struggled to get out. "You really need to stop bein' a creep you
know that" :P
Link finally got out of the headlock. Dean chuckled and patted
him on the back "Sorry I just couldn't resist! Why don't you
just ask one of them out or something?"

"That's a lot harder than it looks!" Link replied, chuckling.
Even though Dean wasn't his brother by blood, they might as well
be. They had known each other since they were kids, even if Dean
was a good two years older than Link. "Besides, you keep eyeing
the cook, and I don't see YOU asking HER anything." he stood
with his hands on his hips.

Dean chuckled at Link's rebutle. "Don't turn this around on me!
At leastI don't hide in a tree to see her!" :P
He took Link by the shoulders and turned him around and started
pushing him back to the two women in the field of flowers. Link
tried pushing back.

Dean had caught Link off guard. "Whoa- wait! What do you- where
are we- OH NO!" He pushed back, desperate to flee.
Meanwhile, Padme saw her new friend stand up to leave. "Heading
back to your duties?" she asked. Belle nodded, and Padme smiled.
"Good luck! Perhaps I'll see you here tomorrow!" and with that,
she was left alone in the courtyard.
