The Hidden Secrets of Experiments: Chapter 3 ~ Problems

Key Points of Chapter 2:
Aang shows Link, Tink, Sherlock, and John into the mansion.
Link and Tink decide to stay the night. Belle shows them a room
as per her new responsibility, and she is beyond happy when Yom
offers to share her room.
Erza and Sinbad meets and send a signal out, which Aang hears
them and brings them inside. Karon has Aang tell Belle about
them so that she can room them as well.
Edmund ducks outside and drags Duck inside to meet the
newcomers. She and Sherlock get along well, and everyone is
surprised when Edmund gets Sherlock and praises him for it.
Belle leaves to find Padme.
Edmund pulls Fakir into the conversation, but he makes a quick
getaway.
Edmund offers to show Sherlock and John around.
Last Post: "Then you get to see it again!" Edmund called back.

"Course I am!" Duck called after, racing towards the group.
When she reached her black haired friend, she asked "Ed! We
should start at the tower and make our way down!" Before he had
a chance to answer she raced ahead and started pulling Sherlock
towards the stairs. "This way!" she called bright, until she
noticed the broken handcuffs again. "You probably want those
off, huh?" she asked the pair.

"Yes," John said, relieved. Sherlock nodded, and
the two followed Duck.

Hermione shivered even as she ran, cold sweat
dripping off her face, her hair crackling with electricity, her
heart pounding, every nerve in her body screaming, her blood
pumping with adreninlin. Today was not the day she was going to
get caught. She'd lasted this long. She heard heavy footsteps
behind her. She turned, and, running backwards, she sent a bolt
of lightning at the man chasing her. He crumpled as thought hit
by a tazzer. She turned back, and continued running, her breath
clearly visible in the frigid air, the cold making her lungs
hurt and ache, she wondered vaguely if it was a little early in
the year for it to be quite so cold.

Duck found the stairs and raced up them, knocking on the door to
Karon's office. "Karon" she called, "we need your expertise."
The kindly old gentlemen came out of his audience and smiled
down at the red head.
"Yes?" he asked.

Merida closed her door with an exasperated sigh.

She hit the button that created the White Field. Her voice
couldn't be heard, her mind couldn't be read, powers could not
be used to get in the room. Every room was equipped with one,
but powers didn't work inside either, which is why very few
people used theirs, besides sleeping with them.....could be
dangerous.
Her mind flashed to the person Karon had originally had made
them for, and while he couldn't get in, it didn't with Fakir, he
could still sense everyone's emotions.
She cloasped on her bed with a moan. Those two new ones' powers
were nothing special, but they had some very unusual "ripples",
big and beautiful. The "strands" were woven together as if one,
but also splitting out and spreading out so far. She would have
liked to ponder over it, but she needed to focus.
The memory of the dream came rushing back, the fragments of the
blue boy and the dark betrayal. Two separate visions, but they
were always overlapping changing and morphing into one, as each
vision tried to take the fore front of her mind. She didn't
understand. "Someone is trying to send me a message! Is it
because of my power? But why are they sending me both at once,
they must know........NO! Two sepearte people trying to
communicate with me?"

Jack decided it would be okay to come down. He alighted on a
branch and saw a girl with long bushy hair bristling with
lighting running with all of her might. "I bet I know from whom
too."
Sure enough, a few seconds later he saw the Experimentalists
Tracker Squad in hot purist. "Well, then," he thought, "we had
better had cool it off." And flying from the tree he lambasted
them with a icy burst of wind, snow, and dagger icicles. They
deflected it, but it had slowed them down. Of course, now they
knew he was here. '"She's not with them," he sighed with relief.
He was still invisible, he froze their feet and dissapeered
again into the trees,silently trying to find the electricity
girl.

Sherlock stood at Duck's shoulder. It was Karon's
office again.

Hermione glanced behind her, startled to see her
pursuer's feet frozen. The fact that someone else was helping
her flashed through her mind in an instant, but she didn't have
time to stop and think about it. Hermione quickly and quietly
slipped down a side ally, extinguishing her electricity, hoping
to be able to keep hidden. She sunk down, breathing hard,
watching the mouth of the alley. For a second, the thought that
they could have been using her electrical current to track her
flashed through her mind in a moment of panic. Should she be
more careful about using here powers?

Aang and Edmund looked around. "Where'd they go?
I thought Duck and them would be right behind us," Aang said to
the slightly panting Edmund, though he himself wasn't too
out-of-breath.

Edmund tilted his head, listening for their voices, and sure
enough, he heard them aloft. "They've gone to see Karon. Let's
go." He turned and dashed back up the stairs.

CeCe stomped. Not again! Why were they all getting away? Aladdin
would kill her.

Jack froze, as he heard a sound all too familiar. He turned his
head, and saw what he feared. "SHE is with them," he thought as
dread filled him. He became a hundred percent still, like a
rabbit ready to bolt.

Sherlock and John.

As Hermione caught her breath, she began to wonder
who had helped her. ... But, before she worried about that, she
need a place more safe. She got back to her feet and looked
carefully around her.

Karon was deep in thought. "Aang, Edmund," he said. "Perfect
timing. I need you to go and find Fakir for me. And, Duck, I
need a cupof water, mind grabbing one for me?"

Sherlock narrowed his eyes at this strange
request. He also had a feeling that Karon wanted to speak to him
and John alone.
