Sherlock's lips puckered into a slightly
sour face. "Reader, adventurous, defiant," Sherlock sighed, "Bit
too typical for my tastes," he said with a bit more bite than he
usually did.

John frowned, and tilted his head slightly. What
was this guy doing? Reader? Adventurous... what was all that
supposed to mean?

"Rude, tactless, holder-than-thou attitude. Very typical," Belle
rebuked. No way was some know-it-all get the better of her just
yet.

Sherlock raised his eyebrows and looked at here
more closely. "Lost love," Sherlock tilted his head slightly,
taking in every bit of her appearance, "Was mutual, but he got
scared and angry, rejected you," Sherlock continued, "Then you
retracted even further into your love of books, didn't talk to
people of much, except when you had to, started working in a
place where you could wall yourself in with books, a library"
From her angry and astounded expression, he could tell that he
had struck gold.
(I know she works in a bookshop, not a library, but
sometimes Sherlock gets the minor details wrong, like whether a
sibling is a brother or sister, and other small details)
He looked back at her. "Now it's your turn," he
sneered. "What do you see?"

She looked him up and down. "Limited friends. Unsteady
relationship with family. Make up for it by flaunting you
intelligence. Want more, Curly?"

Sherlock scoffed slightly. "Better than most, but
still a bit obvious. I'd love to see what more you could tell
me, miss Belle," he said her name almost as though it was an
insult.
_______________-
John narrowed his eyes, but smiled slightly at the
sparring of the two with words. He was rather amazed at how much
the curly-haired man, Sherlock, knew about this girl just by
looking at her.

"I wouldn't be surprised if you were abandoned," she snapped.
"You're friendless, helpless, hopeless!" She turned and stormed
away. Being around him much longer would make herror burst. And
yet, the character profiler in her could see the good in him.
Why else would he be here.
__________
"All right," Fakir said. "Time for you to go. This is a
sanctuary, not a colleseum."

Sherlock watched her go coolly. "Abandoned," he
whispered quietly. He hadn't exactly been abandoned. But, his
mother had rejected him. His brother was his enemy: He'd always
pushed his brother's, Mycroft's, worry and care away. Lestrade
was the closest thing he had to a friend, but he was really just
an associate. He didn't feel upset exactly. No, upset wasn't the
word. He knew he'd touched her nerves by telling her about her
lost love. Now she had done her best to touch his nerves.

John didn't know what to think. They seemed more
exciting than the nothing life he'd been leading and a lot safer
than a band of crazy red goblins.
