John glanced at Sherlock uncertainly, wondering
if he was telling the truth. Sherlock nodded at him in
confirmation. Sherlocked then looked into the blue eyes. "It
seems you're telling the truth," he said, somewhat suspiciously.
"Still can't be too careful." he added. John shrugged, and the
fire above his hand went out, as if blown out by a nonexistent
wind. "Well, in that case..." John said, offering a cautious,
but helping hand to the blond stranger.

Link took the stranger's hand thankfully. When he stood, he
brushed himself off and re-settled the pack on his back. He then
looked at the two and stuck his hand out, a smile on his face.

Sherlock lookeed cooly at the hand proffered by the
stranger. He'd feel much better once he knew more about their
new acquaintance. John cast Sherlock a side-ways glance and then
let our a hopeless aand exasperated sigh, taking the hand
himself. "Nice to meet someone who's not a crazy experimentalist
after our powers. I'd tell you my name, but we can't be too
careful. It's only a matter of time before they come looking for
us in the woods." The green man betrayed uncertainty in his blue
eyes, looking at them as if they might be escaped convicts.

For once, Link wished he could speak. He tried his best to make
the strange men understand that he was harmless to them, but he
felt like he wasn't getting anywhere...

John looked at him, confused. "He can't speak,"
Sherlock said quietly. Comprehension dawned on John's face,
"Oh," John leaned down, grabbing stick. He straightened and
handed the stick to the guy, gesturing to the loose dirt.
"What's your name?" he asked. "Sh--um, he will be able to help
you with the rest if you just gesture a bit, and give some
expressions..."

John smiled and nodded, "Nice you meet you, Link,"
he said. "Um... do you have any... special abilities?" John
asked hesitantly.

Link lifted an eyebrow and turned to his bright little
companion.
Not that I know of... the little fairy shrugged.
Link shrugged back, then stopped. His face lit up and he pulled
out the sword from his belt, holding the blade and offering the
hilt to the new strangers. What they didn't know- or perhaps
they could sense it, either way- was that the sword Link was
offering to show them was indeed the Master Sword, imbedded by
the three goddesses with the bane to destroy evil.

Sherlock reached out without a word and took the
sword, his eyebrows raising at the fantastic weapon. "This is
certainly special," he said cooly, aloof, but he felt a bite of
jealousy. He smiled inwardly, without a twitch of his face,
thinking that he didn't need a sword to have a weapon.
Sherlock reluctantly stopped examining the sword as John stood
impatiently, waiting for the sword himself. John looked at the
sword himself, his eyes widening, "Wow..." he breathed as he
took the gleaming goddess sword. John gave Link his sword back.
Sherlock adjusted his attention back to the stranger. "You've
obviously been on a long journey," he said simply, scrutinizing
the stranger. John cut in before Sherlock could continue, "Where
are you headed, then?" he asked, "We might be able to help... we
can't stay too long ourselves," John glanced nervously at the
rim of trees that lead back into the town where he knew the
experimentalists must be hunting for the two of them.

Aang flew on his glider, thinking. There was no
better place to think when you were high above the world,
everything seeming so much smaller, including his problems. His
question-- How to ask her out? They were good friends, and he
didn't want to ruin anything. Then it came to him.

Link gladly took the sword back and re-sheathed it. When the man
mentioned his journey, he nodded.
Grabbing the stick from the ground, he wrote again in the dirt.
