Belle reached out and grabbed her hand, smiling. She'd have
someone check her memories later, and erase them if she was
lying. "I'm sure you'll look better once you get a bath. I'm
Belle, by the way. It's nice to meet you, Padme. Come on."
Belle pulled the brunette along behind her as she ran into the
bushes. Her wrist pager blinked three times and a grand,
Victorian style mansion appeared. Belle had counted, and there
was one hundred sixty-seven rooms and two hundred windows. The
best part, there were only about a hundred or so residents, and
some of them shared rooms. The building was painted a forest
green and the land around it was cleared of trees and bushes.
The grass was even cut. Anyone flying overhead would see a
clearing, and anyone who walked by it without a pager would get
confused and go the other way. Belle's smile widened. If
anything, Karon was a genius.
"Welcome to Causer House: Home for the Wayward Experimented."

Padme gaped in awe. She could have sworn she had passed by a
clearing, and she had been in this very forest, but had never
seen anything like this. She turned to the winged creature.
"This is where you live?"

"Me and about a hundred others. Come on, I'll introduce you to
Karon."
Belle started running into the house, only to be stopped by a
dark haired, dark skinned boy with a ponytail and a frown.
"Belle," he growled.
"Fakir." Her eyes narrowed, catching the flicker of suspicion
and annoyance in his eyes. "Best control those emotions of
yours," she said, pushing past him and up the stairs. She found
Karon in his room in the attic reading a book. "Hey, Karon," she
said. He raised his head, grey hair falling over his fatherly
face. "I brought a new friend."

Padme smiled warmly. "Hi, I'm Padme! Is this your house? How
many people live here? How big is it? Have you hidden it
somehow? I don't remember seeing it earlier..."

Karon chuckled. "It's nice to meet you, Padme. My name is Karon,
the authority of this house. I built it myself. We have over a
hundred people here between the ages of seven and eighteen. And
it's cloaked, so no one can see it. So why are you here?"

Padme suddenly grew serious. "There have been people chasing
me...bad people. They want to use my...gifts for their benefit.
They do awful experiments..." her eyes grew distant and pained.
"Anyways, I just want a place where I can be safe. That is when
I saw Belle. She has such a pretty aura, and her wings are
gorgeous...watching her fly through the clouds was amazing." She
smiled.

Karon sent Belle an unreadable look and gave her directions.
They were dismissed.
"What was that?" Padme asked.
"Directions to your room."

"Oh?" Padme was beginning to get excited. Perhaps there was hope
for her after all.
Link sighed, then rolled his shoulders. He had been traveling
for days. Goron mountain seemed so far away, and he hadn't even
left Kokiri forest yet! The little blonde fairy by his side
twinkled, and he turned his attention to her.
It seems as though there is an invisible force up ahead...I can
sense it, but only just barely.
The blonde elf-boy set his brow in determination and nodded,
then slowly moved to where the fairy was pointing.

Belle could feel the air buzzing. The path led them past her
door, and Belle made sure to point it out. The next one was
Padme's.

Nice job, Fakir congratulated himself. Belle triggered his
anger, again, and nothing blew up. Don't get angry in the first
place next time.

Padme walked into the room and her eyes widened with surprise.
"It's beautiful," she gushed. She turned back and looked into
Belle's eyes, her own turning blue crystalline once more for a
moment, then returning to brown again.
Link approached the clearing warily. But...there was nothing
here? He looked back at Tinkerbell, a look of confusion on his
face.
