The mock battle ranged all over, and they eventually aquired an
audience. After the initial shock, both boys were an even match
and Belle's role had to be taken over by the instructor. He was
a middle aged man with startling white hair and smart blue eyes.
Belle, however, could care less who was standing next to her and
prattling about how she should move. No, she was watching the
fight avidly. Before, she was having trouble seeing what
Tinkerbell had been talking about when she described him. Now
she could see it, plain as day, shining in his eyes. He was
determined, and the clear victor, far as she could see. It was
only a matter of time.

As the battle raged on, Link felt his weariness kick in. No
sleep the night before and a fast, determined, and very
persistent fighter battling you will wear you down. Link decided
that he only had a bit of strength left, and he could either
hold his own and go down slowly or go out with a bang. He
smiled, and instantly knew which he preferred. When he went
after Ed, he purposefully left himself open. As Ed lunged in for
the attack, Link spun around him and kicked his leg under the
boy's feet, making Ed hit the ground. Unfortunately, the brown
haired boy got up faster than Link had planned on, and he beat
the blonde boy to the ground. Link was on his back, looking up
at Edmund, a sword at his throat. The two were frozen, and
suddenly a smile crept up on Link's face.
"Well done," he said, "Looks lik you have me beat."

Edmund returned the smile, removing his sword and helping his
friend up. "You didn't make it easy," he replied, moments before
the crowd around them burst into applause. "What the...?"

Link followed Edmund's gaze. "Oh my...guess we put on quite a
show, huh?" He lightly punched Ed's arm. Tink and Beya were
looking at the two fighters with incredulous faces, making Link
burst out into laughter.

"That was magnificent!" Belle exclaimed, nearing the two
fighters. "You put on quite a show."
"Indeed," Edmund grunted, and turned to Link. "Think the
instructor will be pairing us up differently from now on?"

Link laughed again. "I don't know...perhaps."
Tinkerbell eyed Link, who was sweating and had tears in his
tunic. When he caught her staring, he looked himself over.
"Oops...guess we made quite a mess. I'll have to repair these
holes, and wash out the dirt..."

"To our room, then the laundress' then," Edmund suggested. Link
nodded his approval and they started walking.
Belle was reassigned to a group of two and got a chance to spar.
Though, she ended up on her back each time. On the way back to
her room, she was suddenly struck by a marvelous idea. "Tink,"
she said, "I think I know how to force Edmund into interacting
with me more."

Tinkerbell saw the look on Belle's face and gave an exasperated
sigh. What kind of trouble are you going to get yourself into
now? she teased. Belle laughed, then replied, "Shut up! You are
starting to sound like my mother." The two giggled, and Tink
listened in closely while Belle told of her new plan...
Meanwhile, Link and Edmund were wearing their nightgowns,
waiting for their tunics to dry. Link decided that now would be
a good time to strike up conversation. "So," he began, "what do
you think of the new girl? As pretty as the princess you adore
so much?"

"No," he replied, not bothering to deny his attraction to the
unattainable female. "I doubt anyone could equal her. Though,
Beya is an interesting character in her own right."

doodling while listening to his friend talk.
