Merida cursed. Her arrow had only missed by a fraction of an
inch, but it was enough. There was nothing she hated more than
missing her target, expect maybe that old hag. That enchantress
would pay!
"Merida, it wasn't your fault," Duck told her in a kind voice.
"Her magic would have never let you kill her. And besides you're
vow remeber? You would have missed no matter what," Merida
sighed knowing full well she was right, but still loathing the
facts.
"Come on then! We have to catch her." Duck was about to protest
when she realized where she was heading and to who. Without a
word she sprinted off, her compaion at her heels.

Padme slowly approached the shrine. The giant statue was of her,
back in her glory days. Yes, back then people all around hailed
her as a god, giving her offerings and praying to her.
Unfortunately, that was no longer practiced here. The poor place
had been abandoned from its former glory and set up as a tourist
attraction. The thought of it sickened her. She changed back
into her true form and waited for her fate to fall upon her.

Belle beckoned Edmund over. "She's over here, unconscious."
"What happened?" he ordered.
"Padme," she replied. "She has magic, Edmund. Dangerous magic.
We should be wary from now on."

Fakir followed the two red heads as they chased the young
brunette. He wanted to know what was going on, and had a feeling
that the only way to get that information was to follow and ask
the non-hag herself.

Lucy blinked awake the fuzzy shape of her brother's face coming
into focus. She smiled at him and he looked down at her, his
expression filled with joy.
Then she remebered everything and sat up, it made her head spin.
"Padmae? We're did she get to!" she sounded urgent. And from the
looks on the other's faces, they weren't sure what she ment.
Then her brows furrled. She wasn't suppose to be able to
remember anything, right? Like before? Wasn't that part of the
magic?
She didn't know, but she did know she was furious at her
brother! "Don't you DARE leave me like that again!"

She couldn't help but nuzzle into his warm, secure body. She
knew he ment it in a different way, but the words were soothing
all the same. "I'll protect you. I promise," she whispered into
his shoulder, so silent she was barely sure she had spoke them.

Merida and Duck raced, winding through the streets and ducking
under barriers trying to reach their quarry.
Finally they found her at the old temple, looking just like the
statue that towered above them. Merida felt fear and was at her
bow again, but Duck said, "No." in a quiet voice.
Her fear had vanished, been replaced with determination. "Get
them away," she spoke to her friend. Merida nodded and slipped
away.
"Padmae!" Duck called in a loud clear voice.

Fakir pulled his sword from its sheath and peeked around the
doorway at the women, prepared to simply watch.

She smiled into his shirt, he would never change.

Smoke was eminating from somewhere and people wear leaving the
area quickly. Duck smiled, Merida having done her job so
quickly. When the dark fumes cleared away a few moments later it
was only the three of them in the pavilion and with a flash of
light Duck disappered.
In her place stood a taller fairy creature. Dressed in
shimmering white feathersand pink lace with small gold wings
petruding from the small of her back - she was a sight to
behold.
"Please," she implored. The voice that eminated from her was a
softer, gentler, more regal sound than that of her duckish
coutnerpart.
Merida's bow was out again.

Padme saw the young girl's transformation, and recognized her as
a spirit not unlike herself. "What is it you want?" The
enchantress implored. "I am waiting here to accept the fate I
was given as a child. Are you trying to stand in my way?"
Marethyu had hinted that this might happen. He gave no other
information on the subject except that it would possibly happen.
Foe the first time in a millennia, Padme was unsure of what to
do.
