Wild Roses Chapter 2: The Start of Something New

Last post: On her way out of the prince's room for the third
time that day with a load of rodents, the maid happened upon
Link talking to Dean. It seemed that he'd spent all day talking
with Padme. Well, that explained why she hadn't seen him in the
kitchen that day. She smirked and started humming.

Right within hearing distance of a certain prat prince. He
frowned. So, she's still full of herself. Probably thinking of
more ways to humiliate me. Must put a stop to that. His mind
continued to prattle on uselessly as he watched her. Though he
would not admit it to himself, he liked her spunk, no matter how
much it annoyed him. He even mistook it as disgust. He decided
to let his frustration out on the practice field.

Dean had his head hung and looked up at Link. "Let's not talk
about it okay? How was your day with Padme?"
Tiana was frustrated about how the day went. She really wanted
to head out with Dean but she got held up at work. Her loyal
friend and co-worker Sasha saw that she had looked upset.
"What's going on Tiana?" she sighed and stopped working for just
a second to tell the story "I had a date tonight but they needed
me to stay longer and an hour longer turned into now 3 hours
longer....it looks like I stood him up." Sasha patted her on the
back. "just talk to him I'm sure that he will understand" Tiana
began to work again and muttered to herself "I hope so..."

Link sighed. "It was alright. Actually...it was amazing. I got
to talk with her for what seemed like days...and..." he gave
Deana look from the corner of his eye, "I stole a kiss."
Padme's heart had skipped a beat. She watched Link walk away and
went back inside, smiling like an idiot. As she got herself
ready for bed, she sighed. She would have to tell Belle all
about this tomorrow.

Dean was excited for his friend and gave him a sly smile "you
little player!" he teased. He was going to ask for more details
when there was a knock at the door. Dean opened the door to find
Tiana standing there looking exhausted and still a little
roughened up from work. He glared at her, he didn't understand
why she would be at his door when she had just stood him up.
He seemed to have looked right through her "yeah?"
Tiana could see that he wasn't pleased with what happened but it
wasn't her fault! "I wanted to let you know that-"
"no wait. let me guess," Dean interupted "I wasn't good enough
for you to spare just 30 minutes or so talking to right?"
Tiana wasn't about to get lectured after working over time for
three hours, "you know what? Forget it." she stormed off wanting
to still explain but she wouldn't do it exhausted and upset.
Dean slammed the door and turned to link, took in a deep breath,
"so are you and Padme going to see each other again?"

"Probably."
Link gave his friend a look, and began his own lecture. "Did you
even see her? The lines under her eyes, her hair, the way she
stood? She was exaughsted! How could you have treated her like
that? Besides, she was trying to tell you something. Doesn't
that mean anything to you? If she was going to stand you up, she
would try to avoid you from thereafter. Trust me."

Belle was walking back to the dorms when she saw Tiana sitting
in the garden by Padme's rose bush. She decided to forego sleep
for a little longer to see what was wrong.
"Tiana?" she ventured, sitting next to the cook. "What
happened?"

Dean was ashamed of what he had done. But he was hurt... "I'll
talk to her in the morning"
Tiana sat in Padme's rose bush. She heard someone call her name.
It was Belle, she didn't want anyone to see her like this tired,
best up, and shut down. "There's just been a misunderstanding
between Dean and I" a tear of frustration fell down her face
"and we both just didn't handle it well...but I'll be okay" she
looked up and smiled.
