Perhaps a new Lost Island ?

Hey guys,
GOOD NEWS:
Lost Island will once return again with a fresh new source.
Updates will be posted on the site here:

I know Lost Island has taken a hit recently. Our player base
has dropped dramatically. I've been thinking a lot about maybe
building a new Lost Island.
About the old Lost Island
It has been a great run. I had a great player base and I
enjoyed coding for you guys. I've gotta say, I am positive that
I had just as much fun coding it as you guys playing it. I
learned a lot from it and I now know what a good server needs in
order to be successful. I personally thank everyone of you for
playing the Lost Island, and building a great community we used
to have.
Important news, perhaps a new and fresh Lost Island with major
changes?
Like mentioned before, I have great ideas for a new Lost Island.
I looked into building a brand new server, and I figured out
that with about 5 hours of work/day (I do work 40 hours a week
at my programming job) I was able to build a better and a more
stable runescape private server. Now, If I were going to do
this, I would offer my old players to test out the beta (You
would keep your items on release to public), and I would
eventually rent out powerful servers to stabilize the server to
the max.
I am posting this basically for my old players to give a bit of
a feedback. A lot of you have tried to contact me but I have
been so busy that I was, most of the time, unable to have a chat
with them. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY.
If I get a good amount of support from you guys, I definatly am
going to think about rebuilding a better, more popular, and a
more stable private server.

EDIT:
The new Lost Island would be a server based on skilling and PVM.
It would have similar features (Like slayer) and new features
that you have never imagined could have been coded before.
(Updates that you have never seen on other servers, I can
guarantee it.)

I think alot of players really like the drops from the slayer
monsters. please keep it so you can get good drops from slayer
monsters. :D this server is the best server ive ever played.
(sorry for bad spelling) :D

Dear Smitty, The player base has undeniably taken a huge fall,
however I believe I know a way to bring a few players back in to
make lost island stronger than ever. From time to time i see
players log in just to check on the server and are looking for
certain updates to happen. They constantly ask questions like
"when will the reset be" etc. The idea of a new server is a
great one, but I believe it is an extremely wise idea to allow
the regular players of lost island to play the current version
of lost island after deleting the bank files. Then while the new
lost island is being constructed, the player base will rise once
again and spark excitement for the "New" lost island. Just food
for thought. -Carl

new lost island would be good for now but i really need all the
mod commands since most people now dont care if a mod logs in so
most people break rules anyway other then that everything else i
am ok with it and this is scarhunter6 btw.

I think this is an awesome idea. this server is already unique
but adding more stuff will make this server the best server out
there. I also think that you should get at least 1 mod in
different time zones so one will be on at all times and give the
mods more commands. I love the slayer skill and the achievement
skill. you should definitely keep those skills when you make the
new Lost Island.

If all goes well, slayer and the achievement skill will be the
same.
(Different npc's and drop rates though)
