Hello all,
Let me introduce myself. I am Loveandpower of Mopar/R-S and Luv
of RL.I have been in the RuneScape scene since around 2002-2003.
Around the RSPS scene since around 2005-2006. Also, around the
programming scene (various languages ) since about 2009-ish.
A little bit about my personal life, I am 24 years old. I have
an associates in Early Education and an associates in Computer
Science. I also hold a couple of certifications in
Virtualizations(mostly do stuff with Linux Virtualization). I
worked in the education field for about half a year as a
volunteer/intern. I enjoyed the environment but I find it very
biased and well..governmentilized if that is even a word... I
then got into the IT field. I enjoy computers and learning new
things about computers. I haven't really found a job I like in
the field yet though. I am currently working as a virtual
engineer for a large company.
Some (bragging rights ftw ) information about my runescape life.
As stated earlier I am quite an old player of Runescape. I have
been a proud owner of all quests completed/cape owner since
around 2007. I am also proud of doing EVERY quest WITHOUT a
guide. I find guides to destroy the natural reason of there
being quests but anyway. I am very proud of my 200-ish ranking
in Fist of Guthix (like 37k rating), at one point I was ranked
about 100 in the game. I am currently aiming for 50k rank
overall but only reached 75k rank thus far.
A little about my RSPS/Programming life. The first server I ever
joined was made by this guy named Danny. I found out later it
was an Exion leech but anywho...Later on I became really good
friends with this guy named Dan(who I later found out is Xx Weed
xX of Mopar) he had this server ( really good but sadly not up
anymore ) called Runexero. The release can still be found
somewhere and I have copy on a mediafire account probably as
well ;). After those two bad experiences I decided I wanted to
learn how to program. I learned how to be a java developer and
after about six months of tutoring myself I was offered a
position on this really old server called Final Judgement. They
wanted me to convert their old Delta base to PI and so I did. I
was the head developer on there for another six months before
they finally closed. (jagex pretty much closed us down) so I
released the server on Mopar. As many of you who are in the RSPS
community scene I am sure you know that my source (sadly) turned
into "torvascape" by Austin Cadle of Mopar. About a year and a
half later (I had quit for a while/came back/quit again/ etc ) I
was offered a temporary position on Myth-Scape V1. The server
was going great and it was profitable(very!). Once we hit V2 I
was promoted to Lead programmer and I was very excited. I wrote
a custom hunter skill and fixed a lot of bugs that were in the
V1 client. Sadly Jack(aka Meeper of Mopar ) wanted to try to RAT
all 60 or so of our players. And well yeah..that ended that
relationship/server fairly fast. Then, I decided to make my own
RSPS community. As I was also the web developer for Myth-Scape I
had access to the Vbulletin license so I was using that to host
a community called "Freecoding". Several veteran members of
Mopar had joined up with me and we were making great progress to
a new community. After several failed attempts at finding a
dependable host I just quit trying and gave up on it. After that
I pretty much went back to RuneScape besides doing a couple of
small projects that offered enough money for my services.
Which leads me to now..
I plan to try out Lost Lands, the advertisement while it really
didn't impress me I am interested to see how the server is
growing/if it's any fun for those random times when your bored.
