First & foremost, to be a strong player the outpost comes first.
Ranking up units, buying tons of mega’s is all good but you
can’t shy away from the basic necessities. Stop building units &
promoting them up as you will need the resources to perform
necessary upgrades.
1. Build on every iron, oil, coal, wood & stone deposits
available on the outpost & immediately upgrade them to maximum
level without delay. If you have abundant nanos then convert
them to advanced with nano decorations for output boost. I don’t
have too many nanos so all my tier 1 resources are the regular
type but I have placed nano deco’s with iron, oil & coal.
2. Steel, concrete & lumber is next. If you can, I highly
recommend getting one advanced of each type, however you can
also survive with the regular buildings. Minimum requirement
should be no less than 2 fully maxed buildings for each resource
. The 2-3 hour build-time is most beneficial for extremely
active players, otherwise 6-7 hour job is acceptable.
3. Minimum of 2 LVL 15 Vehicle Factories (VF’s) and Barracks
are an absolute must if you are to produce units at a healthy
rate. Maxed out VF & Barracks will save you much needed
resources & time.
4. Repair Bay (RB) & Hospital cannot be anything less than LVL
10 so don’t be lazy & stingy. It would be best if you can add 1
advanced structure of each type as it will only help you in
healing faster while saving resources.
5. For non-nano players, large warehouse is the only option so
make sure you create a balance or you will run out of
population. Nano players can easily go for High Capacity Vault’s
(HCV) without worrying about population. Storage should be no
less than 15000 and this is bare minimum. A good range is 25000
to 30000 but too many large warehouses will utilize a lot of
population. I would only recommend this for LVL 55 players and
above. Do not forget to add a Permit Building (Housing) and
upgrade it to LVL 3 at the very least or 4 if you can spare 25
nanos.
6. Refinement Facility (RF) plays a crucial role as it
provides the much needed Widget. I would say that 3 is a good
number to start with, until you have the means to get more but
overdoing it will cost valuable population. Do remember that you
will need Gears for conversion to Widgets (5 Gears to 1
Widget).
7. R6 Wimp has become a compulsory requirement for all guilds.
It is by far one of the most crucial units in the game as it
will serve as primary fodder for SP trading as well as frontline
infantry in battles. When trading Wimps it important to have R6
Troopers in abundance to support the Wimping. I would also
recommend R6 Sandbags & Portable Walls. Wimps are also an
essential for easy boss strike points.
8. Currently the Hvyr Tank is the unit of choice when it
comes to mass production but only if it’s equipped with a
machine gun to target air units. You will need Widgets to
produce this non-nano superior unit so make sure you are
prepared. R6 Trebuchet equipped with Raptor Launch is a
must-have unit as it can inflict enormous amounts of damage. The
Trebuchet requires a healthy amount of Lumber to produce so you
will surely need to occupy some Ponds. Lumber Mill’s alone
cannot cope with the production.
9. Whilst you are doing all this make sure you are regularly
killing raiders, boars, raptors, etc. as it serves a dual
purpose. One is gold & the other is SP. You can use mini-boost
that uses merits or nano boost prior to the killing spree. This
should be daily routine and you should be fighting as much as
possible or you will face a severe gold shortage when promoting
units. My gold reserves never fall below 10 million.
10. Trading wimps is something no player can do without so
wimp your guild-mates as much as possible and vice versa. If you
can build an extensive number of LCT’s & LD’s then you can
perform high SP trades but this is not a priority.
11. The question about how many tanks should one have is
something of a personal choice. Since Boss Strike (BS) has
become the primary purpose of the game. Some players choose to
build a small army of elite nano units and others mass hundreds
of non-nano troops & a strong non-nano vehicle force.
12. Keep your base neat, tidy and in-order. Players don’t like
to visit untidy bases as it becomes a problem to search for
buildings to assist. So do yourself a favour and organize your
base. Build a help zone and signs pointing at it.
13. Be social, be active and always be generous. Having
strong guild-mates will benefit the whole guild including you.
15. Once your outpost is at optimum level of efficiency you
can start mass production. I recommend that you stockpile all
resources first and then start producing so you don’t run out in
the middle and have to stop any point. A good base is one where
you are train troops 24/7
16. To help & assist guild-mates you should make 2-5chemical
plants, 16-20 ponds, 5 trees, 16-20 propane, 4 silo’s, 2 VF, and
a Spec Ops. Organize it in such a manner so that players don’t
have to search entire outposts looking for an occupation corner.

Mac Edwards useful tip: As quarries and concrete plants only
require lumber and gold to upgrade, I'd recommend players to
start upgrading quarries and then concrete plants, once you have
a good production of concrete, then you can start upgrading iron
mines, steel mills, coal mines, oil pumps, wood camps and
finally lumber mills as all those will require concrete to
upgrade.
