Aurora Noctem
[spoiler][IMG]

Name: Blossom Gale
Race: Unicorn
Gender: Mare
Age: 22
Physical Description:
Blossom is a pinkish/salmon coloured mare with a darker
pinkish-red mane and tail. Her mane is cut to medium length, and
tends to stick out of her helmet in certain places when she
wears it. Her cutie mark is a spear piercing a barrier. Her
armour consists of less plating than her counterpart’s in favor
of a more maneuverable scale mail. Her eyes are a light purple.
Special Talent: Piercing defenses.
Likes:
Long walks at sunset, her duty to the princesses, competitive
activities with her counterpart, fighting for the greater good,
discussions of battlefield tactics, outsmarting her opponents.
Dislikes:
Separatists, revolutionists, heretics, hypocrites, liars,
cowards, those who aren’t patriotic, those who would seek to
disrupt the activities of the crown.
Strengths:
Unlike her stallion counterpart, Blossom is light on her hooves,
able to out maneuver most opponents as she attempts to gain an
upper hoof in positioning. She is very capable at wielding her
guisarme with a short sword, making her a big threat at both
close and medium ranges, and even more so when she positions
herself behind her shield-bearing counterpart.
Weaknesses:
What skill she has in dexterity is offset by her actual physical
strength, which is below average. If her speed and dexterity are
denied to her, or she is caught alone in a close space, she will
lose all of her defensive capability. This also applies to any
situation where she is outnumbered.
Fears:
Failure in her duties, loss of a comrade close to her, something
happening to the princesses.
Bio: Blossom grew up in the city of Prance, a city renowned for
its rich culture and various ponies who have become high ranking
officers in the Equestrian Military. Blossom’s family included
one of these high ranking officers in the form of her father, a
lancer of great renown and skill. Wanting to uphold the honour
in her family gained by him, she started to practice with him,
wanting to grow up to be just like him. Everypony expected great
things from her, including her own father.
She was not able to pick up the skill immediately, much to hers
and her family’s disappointment. Stumbling along most of the way
with such an awkward weapon was the best she could do, as her
form was nonexistent, and the more that she attempted to
practice the less confidence she had in fulfilling her expected
role in replacing her father as the successful military leader.
Nevertheless, she kept at it, as it was the only thing that her
family would let her do, and she was not about to renounce her
family’s honour and duty to the royal crown.
One day, she accompanied her father to a military ceremony in
Canterlot where great heroes and even the princess came to speak
for the rank and file, their words moving the crowd with great
feelings of patriotism, even moving Blossom to the point of
tears simply by being so inspired to defend her country and its
citizens. With a new conviction, she went back to her training,
performing her strikes and forms with a new vigor as she held
the words of her heroes close to her heart, remembering what
they said whenever she faltered to be able to stand back up and
try again with twice as much conviction to get it right.
As soon as she turned eighteen, as her father did before her,
she enrolled in the Equestrian Military, attending Basic
Training with many other recruits, including Bastion, whom she
paired up with to complement each others’ skills, and quickly
became fast friends. With both of their combat abilities paired
up, they became an unstoppable force in sparring arenas, and
rose to the top of the class easily where they were both offered
a position in serving as the princesses’ personal guards, a
position even her father has come to envy her for.
Extra Details:
Blossom has mastered a temporary invisibility spell, allowing
herself and a few other ponies who are in close proximity to
achieve a near perfect invisibility. This spell becomes more
difficult to maintain the more ponies she is trying to hide, as
well as the greater the distance they are from her. If another
individual were to look at them closely while they were
invisible, they would be able to see mirage-like shimmers where
they are, making the invisibility not perfect. Due to the amount
of concentration required, the spell is impossible to maintain
if either her or her subject are fighting, or moving any faster
than a trot.
Her weapon of choice is a guisarme adorned with a banner bearing
the royal symbol, complemented with a short sword.

Re: Aurora Noctem || Bastion and Blossom Gale
By: Bastion Date: January 25, 2014, 5:28 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Name: Bastion
Race: Unicorn
Gender: Stallion
Age: 22
Physical Description: Bastion is a relatively large stallion
with an orange coat, yellow eyes, and a rust colored mane. His
short mane tends to be somewhat disheveled and small strands
often stick out from underneath his helmet. His cutie mark
consists of a tower shield deflecting a spear and an arrow. His
size helps him easily wield his shield, and withstand many
blows.
Special Talent: Protection.
Likes: Friendly competition, proving himself, being a hero,
defending those in need, his duty to the princesses.
Dislikes: Treason, blasphemy, attempts at shaking his
conviction, mind tricks, unnecessary cruelty, rushing into
action.
Strengths: Unlike his mare counterpart, Bastion has been
described in the past as an immovable object. His size helps him
remain rooted in one spot even amidst blows that might otherwise
be considered crushing, partly in thanks to the shield that he
has grown so skilled with. As such, he has a high tolerance
towards pain, able to shrug off most anything that comes his
way.
Weaknesses: What strength Bastion has is offset by his
noticeable lack of speed. He can turn and advance, but it is
agonizingly slow when he has to remain rooted in place to fend
off blows for himself or other ponies. His swordplay also
suffers when he ‘turtles up’ behind his shield, meaning that
without Blossom nearby, he is only good for keeping himself and
others out of harm’s way. When he isn’t standing ground against
attacks, his ability to defend suffers, and he becomes a much
easier target.
Fears: Being unable to keep somepony out of harm’s way, whether
it be a comrade or one of the princesses. Also fears being stuck
with a door guarding job his entire life.
Bio: Bastion grew up on the outskirts of Dodge City with his
grandparents, meaning he grew up with barely any other colts and
fillies that he could interact with and call his friend. Because
of this, Bastion often enjoyed interacting with his grandfather,
both by helping him around the house and with his various
errands around the city, as well as by listening to the many
stories his grandfather had to tell.
Many of Bastion’s favorites were the stories about the mares and
stallions that Equestria called its heroes, of how they defended
against threats the country faced--whether they be real or made
up by his grandfather for the sake of the story--and of the epic
struggles each hero had to face to earn his place in history.
These stories of suspense and intrigue fueled the young colt’s
mind, planting many ideas of fame and fortune in his head, and
when he wasn’t with his grandfather, he was elsewhere,
practicing with a makeshift wooden sword and shield, the weapons
he thought were the most noble and grand that any of the heroes
he’d heard about had wielded.
Letting his imagination run wild, Bastion slew dragons, raided
castles, rescued maidens, uncovered plots of treason, executed
spies, saved towns from bandits and necromancers and vampires…
About anything that he could think of. His dream of becoming a
hero like those his grandfather had told him so much about
resulted in him enrolling for a place in the Equestrian Military
the day he turned of age, where he almost immediately befriended
another pony that was in Basic with him: Blossom Gale. They
quickly became infamous for their ability to work in tandem, and
this helped them secure jobs as Royal Guards when they got the
opportunity. Since then, they have dubbed their ‘team’ as
‘Aurora Noctem’, in honor of both princesses they held
allegiance for, and continue serving faithfully to this day.
Extra Details: Has mastered a ‘silencing field’ spell, which
prevents any sound within a five yard radius around him from
escaping. It doesn’t silence the sound completely; it only
prevents anypony not in that radius from hearing noises from
within. This spell also works in reverse, meaning that while he
cannot be heard from outside, he also cannot hear from inside.
Due to the amount of concentration required, the spell is
impossible to maintain if he is fighting, or moving any faster
than a trot.
His weapon of choice is a kite shield that spans the length of
his body which bears the royal symbol, complemented by a long
sword.
