Crescendo

Name: (Inexorable) Crescendo.
Race: Pegasi.
Gender: Stallion.
Age: 22
Physical Description: Years ago, Inexorable Crescendo was a
dull-grey coated stallion, with bright ice-blue eyes hidden by
thick glasses, and a soot-black mane carefully cut short and
combed down into an almost bowl-like shape. The very picture of
a shy, withdrawn young colt that obeyed his parents' every wish,
which, at the time, he was.
Over the course of several years, he underwent a slow, but
clear, change, in an effort to distance himself from his
foalhood self. Now, although his coat remains the same dull grey
as before, his mane is spiked and chaotic, achieving a state of
messiness that could only be gained via careful cultivation.
He's also added bright blue streaks to his spiked mane more
recently, which, while he claims to have done in order to match
his eyes, was more likely done in order to emulate his musical
idol, Vinyl Scratch.
He no longer wears glasses either, instead relying on contact
lenses (although he still owns a pair of glasses), and his size
(muscle-wise) has increased (as the result of a moderate amount
of training) as well, leaving him ever-so-slightly more athletic
than the standard pegasus stallion his age.
Special Talent: The creation of electronic music of various
genres and a multitude of styles, represented by the pair of
bright-blue, over-ear headphones on his flank, the cable of
which is tangled up in a jumbled, indecipherable mess. While his
talents may actually lay with the creation of music, Crescendo
reluctantly works in a small music shop that sells both music
and the hardware necessary for it to be played.
Likes: Using his talent to make music, sharing his music with
others, cooking on occasion, being independent, techno music of
various kinds, Vinyl Scratch's music, upbeat music in general,
parties and partying, drinking and meeting new ponies, flirting
with mares (when he can work up the confidence/is drunk enough).
Dislikes: His day job, overly harsh criticism of his music,
ponies that blindly follow musical trends, endless remixes of
the same songs, death metal and overly moody music, not being in
control of his life, too much work.
Strengths: Crescendo is rather creative and perceptive, as well
as being a skilled musician and a dab hoof with technical tasks
like cooking, or repairing musical equipment and other devices.
He's slightly more physically impressive than the average
stallion, and likes to think of himself as handsome, albeit in a
slightly over-the-top way, due to his.. distinctive hairstyle.
Weaknesses: Although he might act, and often seem, confident,
Crescendo's confidence and party-loving attitude is sometimes
less than genuine, and acts to cover up the awkward shyness he
would ordinarily be displaying, which can sometimes shine
through, evidencing that he's not quite as far from his foalhood
self as he thinks.
While he might be rather athletic and toned, and moderately fast
in the air, Crescendo's not the most graceful flier, which has
caused a few accidents in the past, particularly in enclosed
spaces (like rave parties), and especially once he's had a drink
or two.
Fears: Ponies realising that his social confidence is at least
partially false, losing his ability to provide for himself,
having his music be hated or denounced by his musical hero;
Vinyl Scratch.
Bio: Crescendo grew up with wealthy parents in Canterlot, who
expected him to follow in the family's hoofsteps, in terms of
their preference for classical music and high culture. Although
he initially tried his best to accept his family's wishes and
play the piano, he was never particularly successful, and
secretly hated what he perceived to be the cold, unforgiving
formality of the music, and the culture that came with it. He
earned his cutie mark after he snuck away from his family during
a trip through the city, and spent an hour or so fiddling around
in a music shop, playing with the synthetic music-creating
devices (magical or not) until he had created a bizarre, upbeat
techno tune, and promptly earned his mark. Crescendo remained at
home with his clearly disappointed parents, until he hit a
rebellious streak not long after turning 17 (and discovering the
music of artists such as Vinyl Scratch), which quickly resulted
in his exodus from home, and moving into a small Canterlot flat,
as well as his current job in a nearby music shop, and
occasional work in creating songs of his own, although they have
achieved very limited success so far.
Extra Details: When he has to wear his glasses, he prefers to
wear them in the form of a pair of simple, yet stylish glasses
that react to sunlight by tinting a dark blue, and shading his
eyes from the bright light, effectively acting as a pair of
reasonably effective sunglasses.
