Vinyl Scratch
By: Vinyl Scratch Date: January 7, 2014, 2:33 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Name: Vinyl Scratch.
Stage Name: DJ-Pon3
Race: Unicorn
Gender: Female
Age: Unspecified
Physical Description: Vinyl's coat is colored a yellowish white,
and her mane is a moderate cobalt blue with brillaint cyan
stripes. She is rarely seen without her trademark glasses, which
hide her cerise eyes. Her cutie mark is a mirror image of two
bridged eighth notes.
Special Talent: Unspecified. Related to music, and her
occupation as a disc jockey.
Extra Details: Played by Erpplejerk
Example post:
"So, miss Scratch. Let's get this interview under way,
shall we?" The stallion sitting in the chair across from Vinyl
asked, a polite smile on his lips. Vinyl perked her ears up a
bit and glanced over to him as if she hadn't been paying
attention while waiting for the interview to actually start,
then spoke up with. "Uh, yeah, sure! Happy to be here, thanks
for having me, yadda yadda yadda. Hey, wasn't I supposed to get
some water?" she asked, glancing around her immediate area as if
looking for a glass.
The stallion across from her waved to another pony nearby who
promptly left, presumably to do just that and get Vinyl her
water. "Of course, somepony's getting on that right now. Okay,
I'm just going to jump into this, miss Scratch. One common
concern I've seen circulating about the music you create, is the
longevity of it. How long do you think it's going to be around?"
Vinyl scoffed at his question, and shrugged as she leaned back
in her chair. "First off, just call me Vinyl. And whaddya mean
'the music I create'? If you're talking about the memories and
stories my music helps fuel, then that's gonna last as long as
ponies remember it. If you're talking about EDM in general, I
don't know--I can't see into the future. But I don't see it
dying any time soon. EDM is on the rise."
After jotting down a couple extra notes, the stallion nodded and
continued. "On the rise? Can you tell me what you mean by that?"
Vinyl rubbed at her snout for a moment or two before responding.
"I never was all that good with interviews. Don't get me wrong,
I love my fans and I love explaining stuff to them, but I just
suck at these things. When I mean 'on the rise', I mean more and
more ponies wanna feel the bass drop every week." She paused as
the pony who'd left came back with the glass of water for her.
She offered a thanks before tilting her head up and taking a
drink of the water inside. "To me, you can just do a lot more
stuff with EDM than you can with instruments. I think more
ponies are starting to realize that, which makes them explore
that aspect of music too. Plus it's a lot more fun to mess
around with."
The stallion across from Vinyl hummed as he wrote more notes,
then glanced back up to her. "Your shows are often acclaimed as
some of the most energetic out there, but with all of the laser
shows and pyrotechnics that go along with it, how involved are
you with your own show?" Vinyl rolled her eyes at that question,
her voice taking on a more sarcastic tone. "Oh! Not at all! I
just wait for the show fairy to get it all done. I mean, who
would I be to not give those ponies a show worth their bits?"
The stallion paused for a moment, taken aback a little bit by
Vinyl's sudden sarcasm, before writing down a couple other
things while Vinyl chugged down the rest of her water. "What can
you tell me about the infamous bass cannon? How often does that
make an appearance in your shows?" Vinyl grinned as she hopped
out of her seat. "Aw yeah, I love when you guys ask that
question. Be right back, nopony can ever resist asking about
that!" With that, she left the room... Only to return moments
later, wheeling in a large box with four speakers in the front
and a red button on top.
Looking a little uncomfortable now that he'd actually caught a
glimpse of the creation, he held a hoof up as if to try and stop
her. "Uh, that's okay, Vinyl. I think I changed my mind. You
really don't have to show me the--"
"--BASS CANNON!" Vinyl finished for him as if she'd been waiting
for that, before slamming her hoof down on the cannon and
activating it... Thereby ending the interview rather abruptly as
everypony in the room recovered from what happened
next.
I enjoyed that. The end certainly made me chuckle. Unless anyone
has any complaints...
