Name: Samareai Patches Zephyr
Race: Unicorn
Gender: Mare
Age: 41
Physical Description:

Patches is a medium sized unicorn with a light grey coat and
black mane and tail. Her mane hangs straight and long past her
shoulders, topped by her wicker shader, which rests firmly upon
her head whenever she is seen outside, nearly obscuring her
emerald green eyes if she tilts her head at the right angle. Her
cutie mark is that of two patches, one light pink, the other a
dark magenta. On her right leg, there is a copper bracelet that
clings lightly to her coat, able to stay where it is even when
she moves about rapidly.
Special Talent: Repairing and tailoring garments of clothing,
and remarkable dexterity with a needle and thread in order to
fix what had been undone.
Likes: Simplicity, spending time with her family,
self-reflection and meditation, tailoring, listening to her
daughters play their music, and upholding her honor and
namesake, partaking in discussions of Samareai philosophy.
Dislikes: Loud and sharp noises, those who would threaten her
family, anyone who shows off or does not show restraint, those
who would disturb the peace, timberwolves.
Strengths: Patches is fully trained in martial arts and the Ways
of the Samareai. While this includes weapons training, this also
includes many philosophies and old techniques of keeping the
peace. She is a very collected thinker, seeing different
situations from any and all angles available in order to come up
with a compromise or solution without the need to resort to
violence.
Weaknesses: Due to an unfortunate birth defect, Patches has a
condition with her eyes that keeps them from dilating properly
in even indirect sunlight. When she is exposed to anything more
harsh than an unaltered candle, she will feel an intense pain in
the back of her head, and will become blinded and disorientated.
Her incredibly protective nature with regards to her family can
also be seen as a weakness, as any direct threats towards them
would result in the need for her to abandon her philosophies of
peace and take action, and should the threats be something that
she cannot answer in any way, she would become completely
incapable of taking any action, and could then be manipulated
through her family.
Due to her having lived in the Everfree Forest for some time, as
well as the fact that she carried a weapon and acted so
strangely in the presence of light, a good deal of the residents
of Ponyville tended to shy away from her out of fear of the
unknown. While many have become used to her presence, she is
still avoided by a few. After having found her mate, this issue
no longer plagued her as severely as it had before.
Fears: The unthinkable happening to her family, dishonoring the
name that she carries, timberwolves, not being there for her
daughters.
Bio: Patches Cloth was born to a married couple in Manehattan,
both of her parents seamstresses and tailors themselves. She was
raised as any other child up until the age of two, when her
family decided to go camping too close to the edge of the
Everfree Forest. The beginning of the second day of this camping
trip, Patches watched with wide, terrified green eyes as her
parents were taken from her by a hunting pack of timberwolves.
When she was finally able to overcome her paralysis of grief,
she wandered deeper into the forest for a few more days, coming
close to starvation, dehydration, and lack of will to continue.
She was found and saved by a strange hermit living deep in the
forest, a stallion named Master Samareai Keen Edge , the last
living member of the Samareai clan. Having no other option left
to her, she was adopted by the master, and as soon as she could
hold a knife with her telekinesis, she was quickly enrolled into
the brutal and unrelenting training to become a Samareai
herself. This life in the Everfree Forest lasted until Patches
was the ripe age of eighteen, and she was finally able to best
her master in her final test. On that day, she was given
something that she keeps to this day, a katana forged by her
master, not only to congratulate his student for finally
finishing her training, but to symbolize the burden that she
would now carry for the rest of her life, that of upholding
peace and defending those who could not defend themselves,
taking on the name of Samareai Patches. A few days after she
graduated from her long years of training, she and her master
were ambushed by the same pack of timberwolves, her master
sacrificing his life to save her.
Barely escaping with her life, she retreated to a small town on
the edge of the forest called Ponyville, and sought treatment
for her wounds. Upon recovering and being released from the
hospital, she developed a reluctance to return to the forest
because of all the things that it had taken from her. In one
final bid of desperation, she got in touch with a lawyer pony in
order to see if she had anything left to her old name, Patches
Cloth. She received her long overdue inheritance from her
deceased parents, and started up a small tailoring shop in
Ponyville to suit her talent and hopefully make enough money to
live off of. After a few years of solitude, she literally ran
into the love of her life, Slash Zephyr,. Friendship turned to
relationship, which turned into romance, and then marriage, and
she took on the name Samareai Patches Zephyr. Two years
afterwards the two of them had successfully converted the old
tailoring shop into a hybrid Tailoring and Smithing shop, and
had their first daughter, Rose Bramble.
To this day, she continues to live in the shop with her husband
and her two daughters, who have both now grown up. She has
carried on the tradition and the namesake of the Samareai by
training her youngest, Honey Dew, the same way that Patches
herself had been trained.
Extra Details: Still has the katana that was given to her as a
gift from her former master; it now hangs on a special rack
where it is crossed with her husbands shortsword. She will only
take this katana down when she feels she needs, otherwise, she
carries two kamas with her if she needs to travel.
