"All sounds find to me. Heh, as if I'd go anywhere without
Splitter; I was half tempted to bring it Here. As for the cart,
well, I usually park it outside a mine I'm exploring, and come
back each night to rest. If I'm delving Really deep though, like
I had to for that fire-ruby, I bring the usual gear with me."
The crystal mare replied, nodding happily, before pausing in
       thought.
"So.. sounds like you know where we're headed, hmm? You got an
idea of what the other elemental gems we need might be, and
where to find them? Care to share it?" Lapis questioned, craning
her neck forward interestedly, a mildly-excited smile on her
relatively pretty (although marred by the scar beneath her eye)
       face.

"Actually," Sero turned his gaze downwards towards the table,
looking to take on another thoughtful expression at her
questions, "its not entirely clear yet. I've done plenty of
research and have a few ideas on which gems should for the
Durilli, but until we test the fire ruby we can't know for sure
how picky the crystal is when it comes to what gems it wants.
It's possible I just got lucky with the wind walker tolken, so
if that ruby doesn't work were going to have... a lot of earth
and water to search for the other two...
"If it does, than we should focus on earth first for obvious
reasons," he continued, removing a folded map from his saddle
bags, "sorry about showing this during dinner, but the sooner
the better I suppose. This is a detailed map of Equestria. Those
red marks and circles are the areas I think are our best bets
for finding one of the gems for the element of earth. First on
the list is an Erdeben gem, then there's the Quaking Shards, and
finally a Kashumnere Eye. If the ruby works, any of these three
should help us with the Durilli."

Lapis raised a brow curiously as he spoke, and quickly pulled
the map towards her in order to study it, silently.
She spent several seconds poring over the map and his words, and
thinking about other possible gemstones that could represent the
elements of water and earth, as well as where they might be
       found.
As she studied the map, the waiter returned with their meals,
placing two steaming plates of spinach cannelloni before the two
adventurers, before departing again. Lapis was too busy with the
map at that point, and barely acknowledged the arrival of food,
ignoring it favour of indicating with her hoof both alternate
points to find the suggested gems, as well as alternate gems to
those suggested to fill the roles of Earth and Water.

Despite how hungry he was, Sero refrained from digging into his
meal as Lapis continued to speak over his map, him wanting to
wait for her to be finished before eating. Taking note of her
ideas for the Earth gems, Sero only hummed and gave a small
gesture with his hoof at the water gem ideas. "Let's not stress
over that one yet. I've already got an idea for what would be
perfect for that particular element but... its going to be a
hassle to reach... You can swim, right?"

The curious, interested and slightly excited look on Lapis' face
slowly vanished as Sero spoke, and at his last words, it was
replaced by a frown of irritation and distaste, a hint of worry
apparent in her dull golden eyes for a moment, before she spoke.
"Like a brick." The ultramarine mare responded, bluntly as ever,
clearly not relishing a search for the gem to fill the water
       component of their plans.
"For the earth-gem, we're probably looking for something that
forms at a huge depth and pressure, and therefore that is
extremely resistant to damage. So yeah, a few of those ones you
suggested fit the bill pretty well." Lapis commented, still
       frowning.

Doing his best to hide his worried grimace at the news of Lapis'
lack of swimming prowess, Sero tried not to think about that
future hurdle as he nodded at the next thing she said. "Yeah,
I'm thinking we should try to find the Erdeben first. The Shards
are definitely going to be the most dangerous to collect,
dangling above razor sharp spike pits in a chasm constantly hit
with tremors and all, and the Kashumnere would probably be the
most difficult since they tend to be pretty closely protected by
the named pack. A spelunking expedition seems the most
preferable of those to me at least.
"Anyway, we should probably take this one step at a time, right?
And the first step for us seems to be these cannelloni in front
of us. I hope they live up to your recommendation."

"I guess those three should be sufficient, hopefully at least
one of em will work. But yeah, the Erbeden seems like the best
one to start with." Lapis responded, frowning, her frown only
intensifying at the little grimace the pale stallion had tried
       to conceal.
"Right again, Sero. Bon appetit, and all that." The crystal mare
commented, her smile returning a little, and her tone a little
more positive, as she picked up her fork and dug in ravenously,
her smile returning fully as she savoured the taste of her
       favourite meal.

With a smile returning to him, Sero nearly chuckled at the
apparant appetite of the mare, deciding to put his toast to the
future of their partnership on hold as he too began to eat with
an obvious eagerness for silencing his belly. Again, he used his
hooves instead of his magic as he enjoyed his meal, it being
declared as "pretty good" in his mind before having his thoughts
drift towards planning their next step once the bite of his
hunger was dulled and eventually satiated.
A train would be the best option for most of the way... Then a
long.. long hike... After that they'd need to set up a camp get
their equipment ready... Would need to take it slow... Can't
risk the smallest of injuries that far away from help...

Lapis tried not to think about what finding the water gem might
entail, and instead focused on her meal, smiling as she dug into
the hot, tasty dish, clearly enjoying her food greatly.
After eating for a few seconds, she looked up with a curious
grin to see how Sero was doing, and raised an eyebrow as he
       seemed lost in thought.

Then there was the time they'd need to spend underground to even
find the Erdeben, the hazards and such they would probably come
across that were both environmental and living, having to
transport the gem back up through the cave system which meant
possibly needing to cut the gem down when and where they found
it... then there was... outside interference... Hopefully that
       smokescreen was still up...
Glancing over towards the map, Sero caught Lapis' eye, the
stallion then trying to pull himself back out of the depths of
his own mind as he again smiled and said, "Yeees?"
