Clair's ears first quiver in irritation, then set themselves
forward in anger while his hoof clutches Misty's shoulder
slightly harder as he rides her emotive taxi. Then he relaxes
when she returns to happiness. Such a pleasant emotion to be
around. He's glad he didn't wear any shoes, it's hard enough
for him to stay balanced without something between his hooves
and the grass. And such a nice sensation it gives on his
       hooves, too.
Dancing lessons? That...could be fun. Did he need her to do
it, though? He's sure Clarity wouldn't mind, although he knows
that her preferred dancing is...a little bit more energetic than
he can pull off. He shrugs noncommitally. Maybe he could ask
mom when he got back to her.
And then the song ends, stamps of applause rising from the
dancers and non-dancers alike. Clair removes his hoof from
Misty's shoulder to join in, slightly unsteady from the rush of
accomplishment he gets. He got through a song without falling
over! He grins, showing his somewhat misshapen teeth framed by
       his lightly scarred lips.
"Alright, I hope you're ready to move for the next song! In two
minutes, the Vandala Trio is coming up to sing You Set My Heart
Racing," comes a voice from the speakers.

{He's so cute.} Clarity smiles as the dance ends. {Okay, I can
go now...Don't let Clair stop dancing, I don't care if you have
to dance with him yourself, but-} Wait, who's that going up
onstage? Three stallions, all dressed identically. She groans.
{Not those guys, they sound terrible. Now I'm glad I can't
       hear them.}

Misty waited a little bit for some kind of response from him,
though he seemed content on staying silent for some reason.
Thinking about it, he hadn't really said anything at all ever
since she met him... Even though he seemed like he wasn't really
feeling all that nervous. He was willingly dancing with her and
all, right? So he should've said something by now... Still, she
settled for a light shrug instead, and hugged herself a little
tighter to the stallion she was dancing with, content on just
focusing on him for the rest of the song.
Then, when it was over, she joined him in applause before
grinning back to him, only to pause when she heard the name of
the next song. "Alright, that one's probably a faster song, so
unless you wanna try dancin' to that one, let's go back to your
mom," said Misty as she turned to lead the way back to Jazz and
Clarity, a toothy grin on her face the entire way back.
"Clairdude's such a good dancer. Why didn't any of you tell me
he'd be so good?" she asked light-heartedly as she approached
them. "Anyway, that was fun. Thanks again for the dance~."
Giggling to herself, she leaned over to Clairvoyant and pecked a
kiss on his cheek after speaking, then gave him a pat on the
shoulder before looking back over to Jazz and Clarity.

Deciding she'd rather not interrupt the dancing by shouting so
Clarity can hear her, Jazz uses the same system of taps and rubs
to answer her daughter. {Don't worry, Thyme should be here in a
few minutes to pick you up. Do you feel up to walking?} She
says, watching as Clairvoyant and Misty finish their dance and
head back over to her and Clarity. "And spoil the surprise?" She
jokes, giggling as Misty kisses Clairvoyant on the cheek. Well,
that was cute. Turning back to Clarity, she again taps out a
       message on her shoulder. {Oh come on, they're not that bad.}
Granted, she'd only heard them once before, and they hadn't been
amazing, but they hadn't been bad enough that she wouldn't want
to hear them... she thinks anyway, it's been a while and she
       doesn't really remember...

Yeah, probably a good idea for him not to be joining in on this
dance. And wasn't that the group that Clarity tried to get
banned from performing ever again? Because it was so awful? He
nods and walks against Misty back to the others, confirmed by
Mom's speech to be their location.
       She kissed him.
She...she kissed him. No...nopony outside his family had ever
kissed him before. And...she had called him her friend. He has
a new friend. He has a new friend! Who kissed him. If he
could squee, he would, but he has to settle for a silent giggle.
His grin becomes super wide and his cheeks super warm with
blush as he lowers his head, going weak at the knees. He leans
back up against Misty and puts his head to her shoulder, his
ears fluttering as he swallows nervously, forgetting about the
rock candy he had in his mouth.

Clarity nods her head. {I think so.} She begins to climb
shakily to her hooves until her brother and Missy start coming
back. What? No. He's supposed to keep dancing. Not come
       back.
And now they're talking too quietly for her. Perfect. Why
can't they- right, for the same reason she wasn't talking right
now. She hopes it isn't serious. It would be awful to-
       And then she kissed him.
She...she kissed him. Nopony outside their family had ever
kissed him. He looks so happy...but that just means that she
could hurt him so much. Her face grows indignant and she almost
starts yelling at her before she remembers that it might draw
unwanted attention. And Clair doesn't like attention. So she
settles for telling Jazz over taps that she should get that
hussy away from her brother before she hurts him, thinking
       irrationally.

Misty plops her flank down on the ground as Clair leans up
against her, one leg resting over his shoulders and following up
his neck to rest her hoof gently on the top of his head. She
gently gave his head a friendly pat while she sat there, her own
grin tossed back to Jazz at the mare's joke. "Well if I'd known
I could've at least started the dance with the skill to match
his!" she said back, not really noticing Clarity's reactions to
her. "So, Mrs. Jay, what d'you do for a livin'? Your special
       talent isn't chaperoning, is it~?"

Jazz helps Clarity to her hooves, giggling quietly at
Clairvoyant's reaction to the kiss. This cuts off suddenly at
Clarity's message, and the white mare frowns at her daughter.
She taps out a chastisement, giving Clarity a long, disapproving
look before turning to answer Misty's question. "I give music
lessons, and sometimes I go play at bars or restaurants." She
says, her smile returning. "I play the sax. I was going to play
later when Clarity sang, actually, but... that doesn't look like
it's going to be happening." Her voice takes on a note of
disappointment, and she glances over at Clarity for a moment.
Maybe if things go fast at the hospital and she's okay they can
get back here before the dance ends...

Clair accepts Misty's praise with a lowering of his head and a
slight increase to his already-ridiculous blush. If he blushed
much more, he was sure Canterlot would experience a heat wave.
Not that he really did much. Seriously, what did she have him
do? Walk in circles and put his hoof on her shoulder. While it
wasn't exactly something that was the easiest for him, he'd
relearned walking years back and was probably right up there
among the foremost authorities on walking. Could probably get a
doctorate in it, even. {I just walked.} he taps to Mom
       modestly.
His ears droop slightly with her talk of Clarity's song being
cut. Aww, but he really wanted to hear it. He always loved
hearing his family sing or play their instruments, especially if
       they let him join in.

Clarity shakes her head at Jazz's reprimand. {Fine. Whatever.
I notice that Clair's not dancing.} And then she sees the group
onstage begin playing, which she knows sounds awful. {Though it
might be for best for this song. My head hurts. Is Thyme here?
Do you have any aspirin?} She leans her head against Jazz's
shoulder, too mixed in irritation, fatigue, and pain to feel
       like keeping it up.
