"Hmm.. So I guess the only way to know for sure is to find it,
huh?" Lapis asked, scratching her chin interestedly with a
crystal hoof, frowning in thought.
It certainly seemed like an interesting venture, and it also
didn't seem like Sero was all that keen on actually keeping the
Heart for himself. If he wanted to do it for the History, he was
welcome to it, she herself would be perfectly happy with a
giant, magical gemstone. Even if it turned out it wasn't real,
they could always split the profits of what they Did actually
find.
"Alright then, now for question three: You got room for another
on your little quest, Sero?" Lapis asked, grinning now, leaning
over her pickaxe with a determined look on her (scarred, but
otherwise pretty) face, appearing confident, and rather
interested in his investigations.
"If you Do let me assist you in your venture, I guess we should
discuss cuts, and the issues of expenses, funding any trips we
make, and such. Maybe.. we could discuss these things over
dinner? How does l'oignon heureux sound? At 8?" The crystal mare
asked, her grin of determination and interest shifting into one
that was ever so slightly more flirtatious.
If there's one thing that Lapis appreciated in a stallion, it's
that he was interesting, and Sero certainly seemed to be going
places. He was polite too, clearly intelligent, with an interest
in mines and crystals, and he wasn't bad looking either, Lapis
thought to herself, her grin widening just a little as she
awaited his response, the crystal mare having noticed his own
obvious attempts at flirtation before then, but chosen to ignore
them.

"Yup," Sero replied, eyes finding their way back to the symbols
being casted onto the ceiling, "no solid clues until we've got
it in our hooves." As Lapis went on to ask her questions, Sero
went back to examining the Durilli of Trasa, ears always kept
focused on the mare though to show that he was indeed listening
to her. Her first question brought his smile back to his face,
him not surprised that the promise of adventure or treasure had
yet again drawn a pony into wanting to be a part of what he was
doing. The thought of having somepony with the clear expertise
she possessed around as he traveled did sound helpful. "We just
met and you already want to run off with me, Hm?" He said with a
playful tone, "Bringing someone along, especially when they know
what you do, doesn't sound too difficult. That pick of yours
would probably come in handy as well I'd think."
Then she went on to the next questions... And an offer to
dinner. Eyes moving back up to the mare as his confident smile
took on a lightly flirtatious shade of its own, he leaned
forward a little himself, though he was doing so over his
crystal, hooves reaching out and taking the Durilli as he
replied, "Dinner? That sounds like a good idea. Would also be a
good time for me to learn more of your expertise, as well as get
you more up to speed on what I've found so far. I'll see you
there." As he finished speaking, the stallion used a hoof to
gently push and guide the token baring and floating section of
the Durilli's ring back into place, it looking to fuse with the
rest as the token was simultaneously ejected out of its slot and
back into Sero's hoof, the glow of the crystal dying down along
with its hum that slowly became silent just as the light faded
completely.
"Until then," he went on, taking it upon himself to remove one
of the shades over the windows in order to have better light,
him pulling out then shuffling through a small stack of notes
before finding the one he was after and setting it down next tot
he Fire rubythat once again shone brightly, "I've already looked
into the proper shapes that the various gems should be cut into
for the Durilli. That right there is what I've got for the Fire
element. Should give you a better idea on how we may need to...
trim the ruby down once we get moving. I should probably get
back to my place and start reading. Make up for some time I lost
on my way back to the city." Slipping the unneeded papers back
into his pack along with the Durilli, Sero made his way over to
the entrance of the shop to leave, him pausing as he opened the
door. "I think I was right in my initial assumption when I found
your shop, Miss Lazuli." He said, looking back over his shoulder
to the mare, "I look forward to dinner." With that he began to
trot away, the gears in his head already turning as his mind
went back to focusing solely on the research that awaited him.

Lapis remained silent as Sero concluded his business and
departed, the ultramarine mare deciding that nothing else really
needed to be said, as she watched the pale stallion depart with
interest, before turning and beginning to pore over the designs
he had left behind, to reshape the fire ruby.
It hurt a little to sacrifice her fire Ruby, but the crystal
mare was ready to do it, if it meant finding this Heart, and the
immense wealth it was worth. Still, whether or not she actually
went along with his plans and joined him, depended rather
heavily on how well negotiations would go down that evening at
the Happy Onion, in the space of a few short hours.
