       "Dear sister..."
By: Golden Gear Date: April 8, 2015, 12:52 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Golden trotted down the market street in Canterlot, doing her
grocery shopping, and picking up some small knick-knacks from
foreign merchants all trying to push their good to ponies. She
stops by a stall selling carrots, then picks up some nails.
After that she moves to pick up couple loafs of bread, and a
bottle of milk. Golden played oblivious to a shadow following
her, causing huge confusion in the merchants, as this shadow hid
under their stalls, behind their goods, or in some other way
used their property for hiding purposes. After picking up a box
of cookies, Golden left the market street, turning to a smaller
alleyway. She waited right behind the corner, and extended her
hoof for the purpose of tripping the next pony that would enter
the same alleyway as she did.

Spring Flower followed the brown mare all the way through the
market square, intending to surprise her with a little family
reunion. Little did she know, that Golden was well aware of her
presence. Spring constantly had to apologize to the merchants,
as she knocked down few things with every transition of hiding
spot. Wearing her full armor, minus the helmet didn't help her
at all. After apologizing for knocking over a pyramid of some
kind of magic trick cans, Spring spots Golden leaving the market
street, and runs after her. She takes a sharp turn to the left,
only to get tripped by something. After scrambling forward for a
moment, and falling down, Spring turned to look around, to see
the pony she was chasing. "Hi Golden... Long time no see..."

"The pleasure is all yours..." Golden answered a little bluntly.
"And if you're here to invite me to that filly scout club of
yours, the answer is still no..." She walked past Spring,
lifting the other mare up with her magic, but Golden didn't say
anything, just continued walking. Spring hopping after her,
despite the little trip caused Golden to groan. "What do you
       want...?"

"Awww... Come on sister... Don't be like that..." Spring dusted
herself off after getting picked up by Golden. She wasn't done
yet though, and hopped after Golden, as if nothing happened at
all only few minutes ago. Spring happily chirps Golden her
answer "I'm here to invite you to join The Sorrow's End vanguard
unit as our team's engineer. A pick recommended by me, and
approved by the captain! Assuming you can pass her test... That
is... But, i swear, that no filly scouts are involved in our
activies. We can even refrain from buying their cookies, if that
is what it takes to get you in" Spring finishes her little
speech by leaving a wide grin on her face

Golden stopped on her tracks halfway through Spring's speech.
She groaned again after her sister was done. "Very funny
Spring... I can barely stand from all the laughter... Now go
away. The answer is still no, and you know why. I get more bits
from my current job, than i would as a guard."

"Glad you like it! I came up with it myself, on the spot!"
Spring chimed, causing Golden to wonder, if the earth pony got
her painfully obvious sarcasm at all. "Oh, but dear Golden. I'm
here with a new offer. After our last discussion, i told the
Captain your reason for declining, and she told me she would try
to pull some strings, and she managed to arrange this." Spring
opens one of her many pouches, and pulls a rolled parchment out,
       offering it to Golden.

"You just had to tell it to everypony...? Well? What is it...?"
Golden picked the parchment with her magic, opened it and began
to read. She remained doubtful for first few lines, then her
eyes widened. "A place in Canterlot's Royal Hospital???
       H-how...?"

"They deemed it worth it, if you can provide us the level of
skill i have told them you have. Which i'm sure you do, and you
have." Spring said proudly. "We can get the paper work done at
once, if i was able to change your mind." Spring pulled a paper
form and a pen from her pouch, holding them out for Golden

"Of course i take it. I'd have to work ten years for that"
Golden takes the form from Spring "This is real, right?" Golden
was beaming at the offer, but she was still suspicious. "This is
not a lie to get me to sign this?" Spring wasn't known to be a
liar, but the offer just sounded too good to be true. Golden
picked the pen from Spring, and signed the already filled form.
"So, when is the hospital spot ready? When can i get Cobalt
       moved to the Royal hospital?"

"It is real, not a lie" Spring assured. She smiled as Golden
signed, finally getting her sister aboard the vanguard. "Cobalt
will be transferred, after you have shown what you can do to the
captain. We still need her signature to this paper." Spring took
back the paper and the pen, placing them back to her pouch. "But
the spot is already prepared." Spring turned around, to head to
her next destination. "Captain ordered me to take you to a
smith, in case i'd be able to get you to join. There you will
get your own armor made for you." Spring began to hop away, the
usual spring in her steps. "Oh, and Golden. "Welcome to the
Vanguard" Spring did a salute, waiting for Golden to follow her.
