White Wind took a look around while the two discussed. She
didn't pay the conversation any mind, as it didn't concern her.
She observed a set of swords on the wall, when Ironfire caught
her attention with his greeting. "Good day" White Wind greeted
back, taking a quick glance at the other unicorn, who went to
check out the wares set on display, before turning back to the
blacksmith "Ironfire, i assume." White said, extending her hoof
for a quick, formal shake. "White Wind. You were the recommended
smith to come to with weapon maintenance, and a little bit more
exotic commissions." White took another glance at the other
unicorn in the room, before asking "Am i interrupting something?
I can wait, if you two were in the middle of something"

"Sorry, yes, I'm Ironfire," he smiled, accepting her hoof in a
shake, "and I do like to dabble in a bit of everything when it
comes to smithing. Certainly seems to give me an edge over a lot
of others," he nodded, confirming her information, "it's nothing
that can't wait, I assure you. Just getting to know one another,
he's already placed his order, will take a couple of days yet,"
he said by way of an explanation.
"So, you mentioned 'exotic commission', that anything to do with
you're little bundle here?" he asked, motioning at the wrapping
on his counter.

"understood" White nodded "As long as your work is as good as
i've heard, you will have another satisfied customer." At Iron's
question, White grabbed a rope holding the bundle together in
her mouth, and pulled the knot open. She gave the bundle a push,
this causing it to roll open, while keeping it's contents quite
organized. First in the line was two sheathed swords. White
picked one of them up, and unsheathed it. "First things first. I
need these two sharpened. And preferably re-bind the handles.
Like they are now, these parts left bare." White pointed at two,
bare spots in the handle, that showed scraping marks on them.
The handle was only binded in the middle. White returned the
sword in it's sheath, and returned it with it's identical twin
on the table.
"Then we have this." The mare picked up quite beaten up blade
from the table, that was clearly broken in half, the tip of the
blade was nowhere to be seen. The rest of the blade had many
notches in it, but the finely crafted decorations were still
visible on the hoofguard, and the bottom of the blade "Think you
can do anything about this one? It was found recently, and we
hoped it would still be restorable."

As was usual for him, Ironfire nodded along, listening to the
request and jotting notes for future reference. When the broken
blade was shown, he made a pause before scribbling a few brief
notes, dropping the charcoal stick, and taking a better look at
the broken weapon.
"This is some serious damage," he commented, inspecting the
break and the wear of the blade, trying to judge the materials
and just what would be needed to fix this, "the easier option
here would be to reforge the second half of the blade. It would
involve replacing the core in the remaining half, probably to
something stronger this time around, and then forging the
remaining half as I would with a normal sword," he explained,
still looking over the designs and decoration, "if if must be
these two parts, then I can do my best. Again, core replacing,
but with the second half not directly forged as a part of it,
it's strength wouldn't be as strong as it could be," he offered,
" suppose it would depend on your own preference and the planned
purpose for the sword," he finished off, looking expectantly for
an answer.

"As of now, it would only remain as a decorative weapon. From
what i was told, it is an old ceremonial blade of somekind. It's
origin and purpose are unknown to me, however. Do as you best
see fit. But the weapons look, in this case is more important,
than it's durability."
White considered it as an accepted order, as she moved on to the
next item on the unrolled cloth. She picked up a rolled up
parchment, untied a small string around it and rolled it open.
"This, was found alonside that old blade. I got the text roughly
translated." White pushed the parchment towards Iron "This
weapon's design fascinates the Royal guard. If we understood
this correctly, the blade is supposed to channel both fire and
ice. What do you think?" White offered the parchment to Iron.
The parchment's original text is written in some weird language.
It had later added scribbling on it, some sentenced written here
and there, and in the corner was list of materials the blade
could potentially be made out of. The list had listed both ice
and fire crystals as possible options, along with ice and fire
imbued metals. In the middle of the parchment, was a drawn
picture of the weapon. There was no mention about enchantments,
this indicating that the sword is supposed to get it's power
from the materials it's made out of.

As the two discussed their business, Foxtrot remains in the
background, browsing arms and armor displayed in the forge.
Remaining silent, his ear does tilt slightly in the direction if
the conversation, simple curiosity being piqued. As his eyes go
from one set of armor to the next, he takes a single glance at
the wares the guard presented; satisfied with just a look over,
he avoids any contact with the guard, the last thing he needs is
more interaction with the authorities.

"If it's to be decorative, then I'll fix it up so you can't tell
it was broken at all," he assured her as they moved onto the
next piece. Ironfire let out a low whistle at the thing, looking
over the parchment offered to him, "fire and ice is an
interesting combination, that if what you said is true. The lack
of magical enchantments is certainly different," he paused,
inspecting the designs, "would have to be something strong and
resistant to extreme temperature changes, else the constant
shift would've made the weapon unbelievably brittle causing it
to break very easily," he considered the options available,
"since I assume you'd like me to remake this, I'll have to do
research. It's shape will be easy, and I'm aware of a few metals
and alloys that could withstand the type of wear and tear this
would go through. Producing the fire and ice with no enchantment
will take a little research," he pointed at the drawings,
"especially if that is what appears to be a blue flame as the
ice aspect. Only heard rumours about that myself, so this will
be an interesting piece to work on," he couldn't quite keep the
excitement out of his voice as he spoke. Unusual items and
magics like this were some of the highlights of his work,
especially compared to what a lot of ponies would call the
mundane, everyday stuff he usually works on.

White Wind listened as Iron talked about the weapon on the
parchment. She wasn't sure, if the smith was talking to her, or
just generally thinking out loud. White could hear the excited
tone in Iron's voice. "Sound like i did come to the right smith.
I will gladly leave that project to your hooves." White says,
pointing at the parchment. "Don't overwork yourself with that
though. It's not in a hurry." White turned back to the table.
"These two should preferably be maintained as fast as possible."
She pointed at the two twin swords on the table.
"How much do i owe you for these?"

"Those three," he indicated the worn and damaged weapons, "the
sharpening and rebinding will run about 150 to 200 bits. The
broken sword is looking more towards the 4 to 500 range,
depending on how easy or difficult to core decides to be on
replacing it,"
With those, he looked over the parchment and once more took
ahold of his notebook to make further notes, "for this... I
don't know," he admitted, "there's too many things I'm unsure of
about it's construction to even begin to estimate the price, and
most of that is centred on it's twin element ability," he
explained, "without knowing the exact means of it's workings,
it'll be hard to judge work and material costs," he continued,
"but, as I said, I had a few metals in mind for that type of
temperature resistance, so to give you an idea," he gave another
pause, this time jotting down numbers for the required volumes
of metal and then flicking through several pages to look up
prices on obscure metals that weren't all that often used,
"hmm... probably 872 bits range. Though that's just the
materials," he look apologetically at her, "give me a couple of
days to conduct some research and I'll be able to come to a more
accurate figure to account for labour and whatever the elemental
control is," he smiled, hoping he had provided satisfactory
information, though he himself was annoyed that he hadn't come
across a weapon or device like this before.

White Wind listened Iron listing the prices, giving a nod as
confirmation that she accepts it after each number was spoken.
At the unsure answer on the exotic request, White just shook her
head. "Don't sweat it. I already told you that it's not in a
hurry. I can hear your estimated price when i retrieve these
three. How's your schedule? When do you think you can get these
three done?"
