Lamplight nods. Of course they couldn't just leave Nightingale
out here by herself. Still, if the filly really hates the
orphanage that much she'll be loathe to force her to go back
there in her current state. She turns to look at Nightingale,
who's slowly attempting to crawl away from them. While what the
filly had said about them not wanting to be responsible for her
might have been true, it doesn't stop Lamplight from wanting to
help the little unicorn out. And she still feels like dragging
her back to the orphanage against her will won't really do that.
Besides... "I don't know where the orphanage is." She says to
Agilene, looking back at the pegasus. "And I don't think she'll
be willing to take us there." She takes a few steps after
Nightingale, easily catching up to the filly, who seemed to be
singing to herself quietly, though Lamplight can't make out the
words. "Um... How about this. I own an inn, so we could take her
back there for a while until she calms down?" It was really the
only thing the orange mare could think of, other than maybe
taking her to the guards. And she really doesn't want to have to
do that.

Agilene nods in approval of Lamplight letting Nightingale into
her inn, "If you feel that would be appropriate shelter, then do
as you wish." She turns and looks left and right, figuring out
where to go next. "Shall we proceed, then?"

Focused on her own world and trying to get away from the two
ponies she thought were heckling her, Nightingale didn't seem to
hear or pay any attention to the scheming the two were doing
nearby. She continued to sing weakly instead, putting one hoof
in front of the other as she kept on crawling away in defeat, in
shame. It wasn't until after Lamplight suggested they take her
back to the inn, and Agilene agreed, that Nightingale addressed
them once more, her tone still indignant and wounded. "What do
you want?" she whined pitifully, changing course to crawl
towards the nearby hill so she could try and roll down it to get
away from them faster--apparently not keeping in mind that they
had functioning legs and could easily keep up. "Why are you
following meeeee?"
The little filly, in her current state, would be very easy to
pick up. She'd try and kick and buck her way out of any kind of
hold but it would be to no avail--even while she was carried,
she'd attempt to push herself off, or roll back off onto the
ground, though she'd either make little progress or be very easy
to stop.

Lamplight nods and walks closer to Nightingale, who's still
attempting to crawl away. "I just want to help..." She says,
putting her hoof across Nightingale's shoulders again. "You can
come back to my inn to rest for a while, um..." She looks back
at Agilene, a bit unsure what to say. The filly really doesn't
seem like she's going to be cooperative, and they definitely
can't just leave her out here... The orange mare sighs. Not a
whole lot of options here. "We can't just leave you out in the
street..." She says, grimacing slightly. "Sorry, but we need to
go..." She wraps her hooves around Nightingale and lifts her off
the ground, keeping a firm grip despite the young unicorn's
struggles. With a bit of effort, She manages to deposit
Nightingale on her back to carry her more easily, and prevent
the filly from climbing or falling off with some help from her
magic. She turns back to Agilene. "Well... I guess we should get
going then?"

AGilene watched Lamplight store Nightingale into her bag. She
was doubtful whether the bag would be enough to keep her in
there, but it seemed it was all Lamplight could do. "Do you
think you require assistance? Otherwise, I can leave it all up
to you."

Then, Nightingale felt herself lifted into the air, both
inquiries of her completely ignored. She whined pathetically
once more at the further humiliation, her limbs flailing
futilely in protest as she tried to climb off the back she was
now being carried on... Or, do anything, really. "Let me goooo,"
she pleaded, unwanted tears coming to her eyes again as the
humiliation began to set in. Then, the pegasus said something
about her requiring assistance and Nightingale responded with,
"Y-Yeah! You can assist me off her back!"

With a small sigh and a bit of shifting to make sure Nightingale
was on her back properly, Lamplight turns in the direction of
her inn, though she keeps her head turned toward Agilene. "I can
handle it for now. You're welcome to come along though." The
orange mare looks at Nightingale for just a moment before
looking away. "I really just want to help..." She mutters, most
likely too quiet for the filly to hear. She starts walking, and
after a few minutes turns her head so she can see Nightingale
again. "What are you doing out here so late anyway? It's past
midnight..."

Nightingale stared expectantly at Agilene after suggesting
Agilene could assist by helping Nightingale off Lamplight's
back, before twisting her face into a teary-eyed sneer when
there was no apparent response. "Beh! You're no help!" she
grumped in the pegasus's general direction before glancing
sideways to Lamplight when the mare asked what she was doing
outside so late. She continued to wear her sneer for a moment
before the previous grumpy pout came back to her face and she
hung her head in defeat. "I was... I... The thing is..." she
floundered as if trying to stall for a moment in order to think
of a proper response, before eventually failing and simply
admitting, once again, "I h-hate that place so m... much... It's
boring! I-it's depressing! It's always 'you c-can't do this,
Nightingale', or 'you can't do that, Nightingale'! We do wh-what
they tell us to do when th-they tell us to do it... So I sneak
out sometimes 'cause I like being in control of something... And
I messed that up too..."

Lamplight looks back at Agilene again when the mare falls
silent, then glances at Nightingale when the filly hangs her
head. She looks forward again, and frowns as she keeps walking,
listening to Nightingale explain why she was out here tonight.
It sounds like a pretty terrible place to Lamplight, she
wouldn't want somepony controlling her whole life either, and it
sounded terribly boring. She sighs slightly and stops walking,
though they're still a ways from her inn. With another look back
at Nightingale the mare crouches low to the ground, so
Nightingale can slide off her back easily. "I'm sorry." She says
with another sigh. "I still think you should come rest at the
inn for a while, but I'm not going to force you."

Nightingale blinked in confusion when Lamplight slowed to a stop
and crouched down to the ground, then eyed the road beneath her
when Lamplight said she wasn't going to force her to go. After a
brief amount of thought, Nightingale sighed and shook her head,
having to concede reluctantly that she'd get nowhere in her
current state. "Fine..." she mumbled, most of the fight in her
drained now if the tone in her voice was any indication. "I'm
not gonna be able to sneak back in like this anyway and... it'd
be nice not sleeping in one of those hard beds for once."
Once Lamplight started walking again, Nightingale remained
silent for a few minutes longer before finally speaking up
again, tone hesitant. "...Thanks. I'm Nightingale, by the way.
You own an inn? What's it called? How come I've never heard of
any inns in Ponyville before? Is it fun?"
