The fences looked like they had been hastily repaired by someone
who knew plants but was a complete ditz around mechanical tools
involved in repairing, fixing, or building things. "In the
morning is when I usually start harvesting the peppers." He said
casually as he began to lead her through the rows of pepper
bushes, pointing out the various "Mature" peppers. "Always go
for the bigger peppers, the smaller ones are still growing, and
the ones that are medium sizes aren't quite ripe yet." He
motions over to the bush with a hoof. "You should try to harvest
them like this..." He said leaning forward, he would nip just
above the yellow pepper's top, cutting pepper off from the rest
of the bush, gently he laced it in his little rucksack on his
back. "Though I bet it'll even be easier for you having magic
and all." He teased her a little as he considered. "In the
afternoon I usually go around and treat the base of the lants
and leaes with a pepper-water mixture that keeps harmful insects
away." he said with a nod. "Or i'll go into town and see if
anyone is interested, y'know, gotta make bits somehow." He said
with a soft chuckle, moving thorugh the bushes and introducing
the various pepper types that he grew, before he stopped infront
of one. "This is the ghost pepper." he indicared to a plant that
didn't..particularly smell strong, the pepers on it were
universally red nd looked dehydrated and shrivelled. "Don't let
their appearance full you..they are quite the devilish little
things, they taste wonderful but have to be carefully prepared
before they are sold to any pony."

Ryo took mental notes as Pepper gave her instructions, doing her
best to memorize various pepper's introduced to her. The mature
peppers were pretty easy to identify from the smaller, still
growing ones. Ryo paid close attention to how Pepper cut the
pepper from the bush, the process seeming to be pretty simple,
so Ryo didn't think she'd need to "demonstrate" that she could
do it correctly. It was also good to know that using magic was
allowed. Then again, they were only peppers... At least they
looked like just peppers... Ryo gave Pepper nods every now and
then, to show that she understood the instructions given to her.
"W-will you still take care of the s-selling the peppers...? Or
am i s-supposed to go to the m-market too...?"
Ryo stopped, as Pepper began to tell her more about one specific
pepper type he was growing. Ryo gave the peppers in question a
somewhat confused look. They sounded a little bit dangerous from
Pepper's description, but still looked almost like any other
pepper on the farm. "A-are they dangerous... W-without a proper
preparations...? I-i mean... I-if they're d-dangerous... M-maybe
you s-should h-handle those peppers..."

Pepper canted his head to the side which sent his fluffy mane
over one eye. "Oh they are quite safe to handle! Just...don't
pop them into your mouth." He chided playfully. "If youw ant to
go to the market with me you can...but I'll take care of the
selling." He said leaning over and ruffling Ryo's mane with a
hoof before he turned around, looking over the pepper plantation
before tapping his muzzle thoughtfully. "Was there anything else
you would like to know?"

Ryo leans closer to the ghost pepper bush, giving it a sniff,
before pulling her head back, having not really smelled anything
special about the thing. Then again, she probably wouldn't be
able to identify a pepper by it's smell in a long time. Ryo got
a bit confused by the mane ruffling, it causing her to look up
and try to see if there was something in her mane. She stopped
staring up and returned her attention to Pepper when he spoke
again. "Uhm..." Ryo took a quick look around, not really sure if
she had anything to ask. "W-when do you start w-working...? I-i
mean when should i a-arrive here in the morning...?"

Pepper blinked, tapping his muzzle with a hoof. "Oh....not tooe
arly, just around six in the morning, if your not an early
riser, seven would be fine." He said with a nod, gently nudging
a bush with his muzzle, and ending up with a caterpiller on his
nose. "Well hello there mister pepper-juice drinking
caterpiller!" The caterpiller, oddly enough had similar
coloration to pepperspray.

"Six sounds good... E-early mornings are n-nothing new to me..."
Ryo looked at the caterpillar, Pepper's reaction to it confusing
her a bit. Was this a good bug, or a bad bug? That will probably
be all clear in due time, hopefully... For now, Ryo celebrated
the fact that she managed to find a job for herself. She'd need
to make a good impression, be precise, and always in time. She
had been silent for few minutes, thinking.
After a minute or two of probably awkward silence as Ryo had
zoned out, she snapped back to reality and turned to Pepper
"I-is that all? A-anything else i should know?"
