Awake With A Snake

(So, just to clarify and straighten out the space time continuum
a bit, this thread takes place between Going Off The Rails and A
Good Day For Combat. Me and Niv decided to do a thread in
between those just to clarify what happened in between them,
obviously.)
Potato Ponie woke up with a yawn on the train. What time was it?
The train couldn't be more than 5, maybe 10 minutes away from
Canterlot. Potato looked over at the seat next to him to find
Niv wrapped around him, her upper hooves wrapped around his neck
and her head rested on his shoulder. Potato was in a similar
position, his hooves wrapped around her chest and his head
rested over Nivalia's. Caprica was also wrapped lazily around
Nivalia's neck in a sort of coil. Well... This is awkward. Not
sure how this happened. A couple more minutes of this and PoPo
would probably move Niv off him.

Nivalia nudges herself closer to Potato Ponie, her eyes still
closed as she mumbles in her sleep. Caprica is the first one to
wake up and shift her movements around. The slithering slowly
stirs the mare awake, Nivalia shifting her head around until her
eyes part. She looks over to the caped pony, her hoof unwrapping
around his shoulder and wiping off a sliver of drool from her
mouth. "Oh.. Uh hey." Nivalia yawns, pulling off her other hoof
to rub her still blinking eyes. "Sorry about that. I guess I
dosed off a lot heavier than I thought." Caprica slithers off
her owner and rests on the space between her and the window. "I
guess we're here now?" Although he definition of 'here' isn't
well established, Nivalia continues to turn to the window to see
their destination closing in.

Potato gently removes Nivalia from himself as she wakes up.
"Yeah, don't worry about it." Potato responds to Niv's apology.
If one were to look closely they might see a very snall blush
upon PoPo's cheek, but he would never admit it.
"Yeah, we're only a couple minutes away from Canterlot. Though,
bad news, I don't think that thief is still on board. I looked
everywhere and he wasn't there. He probably got off before the
train left. I'll have to catch him some other tine. No big deal
though, really. I have things to do here and chances are I'll be
seeing him again." PoPo says to Nivalia as the train approaches
the station.

Nivalia stretches once more, reaching her hoofs high above her
head. "Oh, he got away? That's terrible; but if you say you'll
take care of it then... yeah." A drop of her legs and the mare
looks over to her pet, "Little Capri sleep well?" The python
turns around and looks at Nivalia, her tongue flicking ever so
often to taste the air. The mare scoops up her snake and nuzzles
it, further messing up her hair, "Who's my cute lil Capri? You
are." After cuddling with her reptile Nivalia looks out of the
window, spotting the city nearby. "So, what are your plans when
we get off this train?"

Potato looks at Nivala with a strange look as she cuddles her
snake. "Sorry, but that's private." Potato responds rather
brashly to Niv's question. "Also, if you don't mind me asking,
where did you get your snake?" PoPo asks as the trains starts to
slow down.

As Caprica slithers around Nivalia's shoulders to get in her
usual spot, the mare goes over her things to make sure nothing
has fallen out. When she gets her answer the mare merely shrugs,
"Fair enough. I should get back to my search, Canterlot's
actually the last place I have to look." Glancing to the city, a
slight concern grows in her mind. Nivalia snaps out of her
thoughts when she's asked a rather familiar question. "Oh
Caprica? I found her a few years ago." She begins to stroke the
python's head, the snake looking up at her with the same blank
stare it always has. "She's was a newborn; my goodness she was
about six inches long, the skinniest little snake you've ever
seen. She was fighting off a bird twice her size when I walked
into the scene." A rather devious smirk appears on her face as
she continues, "I kicked that feathered jerk right into the
closest bush, scooped her up and ran off. Caprica was thin
though, she hadn't eaten in weeks and was very ill; I wasn't
sure she would actually live, but she did. And since then she's
been with me ever since." Nivalia nuzzles the python once more,
"Ponies I meet wonder why a mare would ever save a snake of all
things, but I have my reasons. I would tell you though..."
Parting from the animal, Nivalia gives a teasing glance to the
caped passenger next to her, "But that's private."

Potato looks at Nivalia with a curious look on his face. "So by
"its private" do you mean that I have to tell you why I'm in
Canterlot before you tell me why you saved your scaly friend
there?" PoPo asks, motioning to Caprica. By this time the train
had stopped and Niv and Potato were merely waiting for the crowd
of leaving passengers to clear a bit.

Nivalia shrugs, "No, not really. I just wanted to sound as
mysterious as you are; but then again not stating your schedule
for the day isn't so much mysterious as it is being...
reclusive." The mare gets up, seeing the passengers have all but
left by now, "But that is your business and I won't pry into it
if you don't want me to." With most of the passengers gone,
Nivalia begins to make her way to the train's exit, the sound of
bustle coming from the station outside. "Well Potato Ponie, I
guess this is where we part ways. I do hope your plans go well
and you catch that thief in the end of it all."

"Well, I like being mysterious. Makes me interesting." Potato
says with a smile as he gets up from his seat.
Potato frowns a bit as Niv announces its time to part ways.
"Yeah, I guess it is." PoPo says with a sigh. He did enjoy Niv's
company. "Well, I guess I'll see you around." Potato then says
to Niv as he starts to trot away.
After both ponies had gotten a couple meters away Potato
suddenly turns around and trots back towards Nivalia. "Hey,
look, if you're curious as to what I'm doing in Canterlot you
can come with me to do that if you want and accompany me on
anything that happens in between." Potato says ince hes caught
up with Nivalia. "I mean, if you want..." Potato adds a little
awkwardly, shuffling his hooves a bit.

Nivalia chuckles a bit inside as Potato Ponie trots over to her.
She glances at him as he shuffles his hooves, "Well, I suppose I
can travel along with you for a little while longer. Who knows,
I might even finish my errands through it all." She raises a
hoof to her chin, "Alright, I'll come along. But I want to get
something to eat along the way; I'm becoming quite peckish right
now." Caprica looks around to meet the gaze of the ponies
trotting by and giving the three of them rather peculiar looks.
