"Never knew 'er." Brash states as she seems to have finally
sorted through the gems, "My father never spoke of her and I
       never inquired."
Brash gives the ceiling a look before continuing, "Although,
I've given a mare room here so long as she acts as a guardian
should any situation occur that I require one."
Brash looks over the gems and begins closely examining them,
throwing a few back into the sack.

Nightingale simply gave a quiet "hm" to Brash's response that
she never knew her mother. So it seemed she was an orphan just
like her. Then why the hay wasn't she at the orphanage, too?
Lucky her didn't have to deal with the matrons all day long.
But... She survived this long on her own, she must've had
something going for her. Maybe this wouldn't be a bad place to
crash. Assuming Brash would be easy to deal with in the future.
The mention of another mare acting as a guardian made
Nightingale arch a brow in response, though because of how long
she'd been sitting there, her impatience growing as a result,
she didn't really feel like questioning about that any further.
Eventually, when she reached the point of her sanity,
Nightingale groaned and shifted on the couch before saying, "How
much longer is this gonna take? I'm so booooooooooooooored."

"Huh? Oh." Brash peels away from her gems and heads into her
basement for a moment, returning with a bag of bits that she
places before Nightingale. "Your part is done, just a bunch of
measuring and weighing left for me to do."
Brash scratches the back of her head awkwardly, "You helped me a
lot, even if it wasn't much effort on your part. Any progress on
this project is worth more bits to me than I have to offer, so
make sure to come to me with something I can help you with
someday. I'd rather not feel I'm in your debt."

Nightingale blinked when Brash left the room and disappeared
somewhere else, the filly left stunned for a moment as she
wondered what just happened. She considered trying to go after
Brash, but figured it'd be more trouble than it was worth--she
was probably going to be back, since this was where all the gems
were. Her hunch was correct, and moments later the filly
returned, a small bag brought with her. Nightingale's ears
perked as she sat more upright on the couch, curious to see if
those were her bits. Once the bag was dropped before her, she
immediately snatched it up and began counting through the bits,
gaze flicking up only briefly when Brash requested Nightingale
come find her if she needed help with something. "Yeah, yeah.
We'll see," she responded before hopping off of the couch. "I'll
be back around every now and then--lemme know what else I can
help with for more bits when I do. 'Later," she said before
trotting excitedly out of the house, thoughts racing as she
tried to figure out where she should stash her new-found
       fortune.
