Kit blinked and then nodded. "Ah...a metal worker?" She mused.
"There are lots of those in manehatten though I don't think they
work metal in the same way as out here." She said with a chirp,
before shrugging. "I like it here though, I can hear more than a
thought at a time in my own head." She said with a soft snort as
she clicked her beak gently. "Oh no thank you, I ate not long
ago..." She said with a soft chirp. "But thank you for the offer
anyway." She said, her wings fluffed gently as she peered
around, meandering over to anything shiny that caught her eye,
her cat-tail waving expressively as she explored, attempting to
       stay out of Kindle's way.

"Oh, so you moved from Manehattan?" Kindle asked. She had
visited the city a few times with her brother and parents, and
vaguely remembered extremely tall buildings and an incredibly
large number of ponies moving about. She wouldn't have wanted to
try and set up her candle business there; the atmosphere
definitely favored larger and more famous businesses over
smaller ones. "Yeah, having just moved here from Canterlot, I'm
amazed by how much quieter it is in Ponyville. My brother
probably wouldn't be able to stand it here - he loves all the
loud noise in the big cities," Kindle said, smiling to herself.
She finished levitating the last tool into her cart and ceased
her magic. "Okay, that should be everything. If I've forgotten
anything, I can always move it over later," she told Kit. Kindle
moved outside her house and started scanning the sky for a
pegasus carrier to ask to move the work table.

Ryo trotted out from the town hall. She had been running around
town, asking about possible job offers from variety of stores
and ponies, with varied success... Ponyville was still very new
to her, and she wasn't able to find half of the places she
wanted to go to. Ryo decided to leave a small note on the town
hall billboard that she was looking for a job and decided to
wait and see if that would work.
But as she walked farther and farther from the town hall, her
surroundings got more and more unfamiliar. Ryo steadily slowed
her pace and after few more buildings stopped completely. She
muttered a silent "Uhhh..." and looked around, trying to spot
something remotely familiar from her surroundings. Spotting a
familiar looking house, or at least she thought it was familiar
looking, Ryo turned to a bit smaller and almost empty street,
hoping to find a place she knew from the other side.

It was just one of those things. A random twist of fate, or
perhaps was it a quirk? Either way. The gryphoness has moved
so that her body was in the middle of a street that exited onto
the street Kindle and herself occupied. Her wings fluffed
however as she felt, rather than saw a body push into her from
the side. Old manehatten anger bubbled within her butr she
stifled it down with a chirp of surprise before she turned to
look at the oddly colored pony.
"Why, look at this Kindle!" She said her tail swishing about as
she called Kindle over. "Isn't she adorable? What's your name,
adorable?" The smallish gryphon with the black fur and red ruff
of feathers around her neck and head clicked her beak gently,
seemingly taking no offense to the bodybump.

The sun shone brightly; Ponyville's weather team must have
finished clearing away clouds for the day. There were fewer
pegasi flying above the town than Kindle had expected, but she
could always wait to hire one to bring her work table over. She
had spent most of her first week in Ponyville making candles,
and probably wouldn't need to make more large batches any time
soon. For small projects like Kit's cherry candles, any table or
bench would do. Kindle took her eyes off of the sky above her
house to see who Kit was talking about. Next to the griffon was
a blue mare that she hadn't met before. Given that she only knew
a few of the ponies, plus one griffon, in Ponyville, Kindle
assumed the unicorn stranger was just another townspony to get
acquainted with. "Hi there," she said cheerfully, eager to make
more friends. "I'm Kindle, and this silly griffon is Kit. We're
       both pretty new to Ponyville."

Ryo didn't really pay mind to the ponies on the street, but a
peculiar looking house to her right caught her attention. It
looked like a costume shop, or maybe a prank store. It was hard
to tell without actually going inside to take a look, but before
she had change to possibly decide to go inside, Ryo bumped into
somepony... Or something... Ryo quickly turned her head to the
"thing" she had bumped to, and found herself looking at a
       griffon. A griffon...
Ryo's legs were visibly shaking as she looked at the eyes of the
"evil predator". She had never seen a griffon before, and the
one in front of her looked very menacing to her. Both Kit's
words and Kindle's introductions went to deaf ears, as Ryo
eeeped, ducked down on the ground and covered her head with her
       hooves "P-pl-please... D-don't e-ea-eat m-m-me..."

Kit raised an eyebrow at the blue unicorn. She had had many
different reactions ranging from indifference to her presence to
welcoming but never one of fear. She turned a curious eye to
Kindle before she fluffed her wings and let out a soft chirp.
"And what my blue friend makes you think I'll eat you? I dare
say if I was a pony eater I don't think I would be allowed in a
town full of then." She said playfully tail swishing as she let
out a little purr at Ryo. "Please do stand up little mare, Might
       I know your name?"

Kindle looked dubiously at the cowering blue unicorn. She
supposed Kit's large talons and claws could look somewhat
threatening, but where had the mare gotten the idea that
griffons ate ponies? "I promise she won't hurt you," Kindle
said, offering a hoof to help the mare off the ground. What
could she do to try and reassure the poor pony? Kindle
remembered that she still had a lavender scented candle in her
saddlebag. Lavender was supposed to be soothing, right? She
levitated the candle towards the mare and lit its wick. "Hey,
would you like a free candle?"

She... wasn't going to eat her...? Well it kinda made sense...
If the griffon would have eaten ponies, she wouldn't probably be
allowed to come in Ponyville... Probably... Ryo peeked from
between her hooves and looked at the griffon and the pony in
front of her. After Kindle's words, Ryo uncovered her head
completely and grabbed the offered hoof, pulling herself up.
       "I-i'm R-Ryo... N-nice to meet you..."
After Kindle presented a candle from her saddlebag, lit it and
offered it to her, Ryo's ears flopped down as she was seemingly
trying to say something, but couldn't. After a short, awkward
while Ryo blew the flame out of the candle, before saying
"T-thanks..." and accepting the now unlit candle from Kindle.
After that she just stood there, as if waiting for permission,
       or orders to do something.

Kit tilted her head at the candle-blowing-out Pony and clicked
her beak where one would normally chuckle or smile. Beaks
weren't good for that sort of thing. "It's my pleasure to meet
you, Ryo Adorable." She said giving Ryo what she thought was an
appropriate last name, before she stood beside Ryo and patted
       her with an outstretched wing.
"So, are you from Ponyville?" She asked curiously, tail lashing
from side to side, keeping that wing on Ryo's body, like a human
might throw an arm around someone's shoulder in greeting, her
head tilted to the side as she let out a little chirp at the
traffic around them. "You wanna see our awesome new shop?"
