       Re: Premonition
By: Ruby Fortuna Date: June 30, 2014, 2:26 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Rolling her eyes at Hawkson as he continued to curse her out,
Ruby stood up and wandered back towards the tree that had her
books under it. Now she would have to relocate, which was
absolutely fantastic, and it wasn't even because of the fact
that the place was now a tad messy, what with the broken tree
branch and the scattered leaves, no, it was because of the two
ponies who had invaded the general area with their shenanigans.
Taking care to pass by as slowly as possible when she walked
past Dais, giving Hawkson an amused and cheeky smirk in the
process as she said, "Aww, someone's just a tad sore about their
little embarassing fall, aren't they? What do you think,
Pharasma?" The snake flicked its tongue at the pair
disinterestedly, clearly having no opinion about the situation
other than maybe how good the two of them smelled, but
nevertheless, Ruby giggled and said, "Oh is that right? Well
maybe we should..." she trailed off a little, her tone dropping
into silence as she stared off to the side for a few seconds. A
funny feeling came over her all of a sudden, sort of like the
feeling of the aftermath of eating something that her stomach
didn't agree with. She felt uncomfortable where she was, she had
to move right now. Right now.
She just kept walking, one hoof in front of the other as she
kept staring off to the side, looking as though she was off in
her own little world as the python once more began to hiss
lowly. A few seconds later after leaving the spot that she had
deemed too unbearable to even consider standing in, a large
boulder hit the ground with a thud, embedding itself into the
dirt and showering the nearby ponies with speckles of soil.
Slowly turning to look at the place that she had decided to
abdicate at the last second, Ruby swallowed slowly as she paled,
her heart beating at what felt like a million miles a minute,
only picking up pace as she came to terms with what just about
happened. Her silence continued to persist as the pegasus that
had been carrying the boulder landed upon it, retrieving and
reading a note while she muttered to herself. "Oh..." Ruby
began, beginning to tremble as shock started to set in, "that
was... oh dear, that almost..." That was almost murder is what
that was. Wham-splat, almost turned into a fine red paste under
a heavy rock, a quick death. Would it have been painful? Would I
have felt each and every bone in my body splinter and break as
       my soft organs were crushed?
       Things were just going wrong.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
With a gigantic flinch and a whinny, Dais did what he could to
get away from the boulder before his shiny blue coat was covered
with dull brown dust. At first Dais was a little shocked at the
threat to his personal safety, but as soon as he could get his
thoughts in order, the first thing that came to mind was
establishing some priorities. As a good friend and town
bureaucrat, Dais felt a certain degree of responsibility for
resolving this particular crisis. He always had a plan on hand
for dealing with various situations, but this time, he realized
that he probably had to prioritize. The three ponies around him
seemed to be each having their own unique problems, and dealing
with them was just too much. As such, Dais reasoned that the
first concern had to be fixing up the tree, since nopony else
seemed to care about that. It made sense for the few
shock-filled seconds his brain had to evaluate the situation.
"Alright" coughed Dais, while walking around dizzily "All part
of the... plan... now there's a huge rock between you and the
snake... you can... thank me later... and you can calm down,
young mare, you're ok... and uh, Carri?... This your boulder? I
think you've got to be a bit more careful when you're flying
       over the park... so anyway..."
Dais' limping dizzy walk sent him careening face-first straight
into the boulder. After shaking his head, he composed himself
back to normal. "I need to rescue some very important tree
branches from under this rock. Who's keen to help out a friend,
       huh?"

Carri rereads her note, confused as to what exactly to do.
Deciding the note reiterates not talking multiple time she
simply nods to Dais and lifts the boulder just high enough for a
pony to walk under. Due to its weight she can't spare a hoof to
recheck the note, and she becomes too curious, "Uh, well, you
were expecting Brash to give you these right? Something about
using them to obliterate something? I found ten more, I couldn't
hold them all at once though."
Carri then snaps her muzzle shut, hoping the disregard for
       orders wouldn't lessen her pay.

Hawkson is about to yell more obscene cuss words at Ruby, but
the giant boulder lands directly in front of him, spraying him
with dirt. He’s about to shout even MORE cuss words before he
notices the filly standing on the boulder. Hawkson is probably
the biggest A-hole in Ponyville and usually has no problems
about saying curse words and yelling at anypony that rubs him
the wrong way, but hes still got standards. And one of those
happens to be to be nice to foals. Especially the adorable ones,
like the one on the boulder.
Hawkson temporarily ignores the whole snake thing and brushes
himself off. He’s about to ask why a filly that looked like she
just got out of school was carrying a boulder that almost
horribly murdered him before her and Dais start talking. Wait
why did he need boulders? What was he, Daring Do? Did he like to
run from them with catchy music playing in the background?
Hawkson is just left there with a confused look on his face as
Carri lifts the boulder and Dais says something about a tree
       branch.

       Re: Premonition
By: Ruby Fortuna Date: July 13, 2014, 3:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Ruby started feeling a slight bit queasy at this point. The more
that she thought about what could have happened had she not had
the desire to move all of a sudden, the more she felt that she
would be sick. Stumbling off to the side, by the tree that she
had sat under for the past few hours, she began trying to do
something else that would hopefully occupy her thoughts:
brushing the leaves off of the books that she had left open, and
placing them back in the bag that she brought them in.
Thankfully the books were not too damaged given the
circumstances, and the librarian was not going to pitch a fit
this time around. After the last book had been placed in the bag
alongside the box that held her tarot cards, she buckled it back
up, taking care not to crush her python as she placed it back
over her back. She was done with this place, with these ponies,
with today altogether for that matter. She was nearly killed,
surely that was reason enough to believe that she could call it
       quits for today.
Just as she was considering where she was going to go next, she
was compelled to look back up to the Everfree Forest, perhaps to
give it one last regarding glance before returning to downtown
Ponyville, and caught sight of a pony walking into the woods.
Squinting her eyes, Ruby tried to catch some sort of identifying
feature of this pony to see if it looked any bit familiar to
her. It looked familiar alright, too familiar. She knew she had
seen this pony before, back on the night that she decided to
wait for the witching hour, the night that horribly thick fog
rolled into the town, the night that she had to stay at
Lamplight's inn. It was the strange pony with the same magenta
coat and the same deep-red mane as Ruby herself. Realization of
this did not come fast enough though, for the stranger turned
her head, looking directly at the bewildered mare, and bared the
same wicked smile that she had seen before. A new wave of nausea
overcame Ruby, and she immediately stumbled up against the tree,
leaned over as she coughed at the ground, a few dry heaves
emerging from her throat before she spat on the ground.
She was now truly exhausted, as one would feel if they had just
finished vomiting. A light breeze picked up from the forest, and
risking another glance up, Ruby saw the same pony still standing
where it was, staring at Ruby. After a moment of calm, it
mouthed something: two simple words that she could not make out,
until their meaning was stated plainly as though they had been
whispered in her ear. You're welcome. It was not a particularly
emotion-filled statement, but more one filled with bitter
disdain, as though whatever it had done had inconvenienced it in
some inconceivable way. As she watched the doppelganger turn and
finally disappear into the forest, Ruby had to ask herself what
the pony could have done that elicited such a response? Did it
have something to do with the events that just took place. No,
surely the fact that the boulder was dropped was purely equine
error, but perhaps it was something else...?
Her thoughts drifted off as she looked back to the boulder, and
the tree branch that Dais was looking to rescue. It was
certainly beyond any sort of repair, surely. It was detached, on
the ground, likely to die soon enough. Who really cared about
it? Certainly not Ruby, nor did she care for the struggle to
save this bit of tree. In fact, she was getting a bit angry now,
that such a thing could afford to be such a waste of attention.
She walked past the three ponies that had now gathered to deal
with issues regarding the boulder, watching them discuss issues
as she did so, before sniffling and adjusting the pack on her
back. She had nothing else to say, she just wanted to leave and
go back home. Leave and not think about what all happened today,
not even about the fact that the thing she had come here to
research about had just appeared once again. Whatever its
intentions were, they couldn't have been malevolent, but that
just left more questions. Why was it here, and why was it
bothering Ruby? She could ponder and research as much as she
wanted, but she had a feeling she already knew what she would
have to do in order to get a conclusive answer. She would have
to follow it into the forest.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Dais tapped his chin lightly with his hoof, as he often did when
       trying to remember something.
"Uhh... not from Brash" he thought aloud "I did order a five-ton
wrecking ball to help me obliterate Brash's house, but I ordered
it from a mare I know called Wily Miley, and I asked for it to
be delivered as close to Brash's house as possible. Apparently
it helps save on shipping. Matter of fact, it should be arriving
in about ten minutes. I suppose there must have been a mistake
on the order, but that's ok. As always, I know exactly how to
handle this. I'll return the boulder to Brash for a refund later
       - and I think I'll bring it to her... personally. But first I
really need to get these tree branches. So anyway, Carri, could
you spare a minute to help my two awesome new frie..."
Dais stopped abruptly, as he suddenly noticed the young mare
with the snake had already wandered off.
"Oh, I mean, my one awesome new friend to move this boulder?
Mister Greenhooves really doesn't like it when other ponies do
his pruning for him, and this giant boulder is one hazardous
       park ornament anyway."

"Wherever you need it!" Carri announces, still trying to
register where an order of so many boulders could've gotten
mixed up with an order of a single wrecking ball. As her face
scrunches in thought she concludes that maybe the boulders were
to be tied together to form a giant wrecking boulder, although
this still left the question as to why Brash was now aiding the
       destruction of their new home.
Carri hovers with the boulder, ready to move.

Hawkson watches Ruby head off into the Everfree, not really
caring why she left, just that the snake was gone. Then, Hawkson
realizes something. The entire situation he just went through
could have easily been avoided if he had just left instead of
freaking out when he saw the snake. It was rather shameful that
someone like him, a rather well known detective, hadn't
realized this before but, as always, fear overcomes logic.
And frankly, now that the snake was gone, he should probably be
on his way. He had important things to do, very important
things, that would probably affect the rest of his life. So, he
stood there for just a moment, considering whether he should
stay and help the two ponies with the boulder and branches, then
thought “!@#$ no.” and went on his way to the train station,
leaving Dais with no awesome new friends to help him.

By: Dais Clash Date: July 22, 2014, 7:22 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Dais wasted no time, dashing right underneath the massive
hovering boulder and grabbing at any branches (which were now
more like crushed twigs and broken leaves) he could find. After
a very quick scramble, however, he had a sudden brainwave.
"Oh yeah" he said as he remembered he had a horn for this kind
of thing. I really need to get my memory checked, he thought to
himself as he recalled having forgotten that exact same thing
earlier that day. After briefly considering it, he refocused on
the task at hand. His horn activated, and one by one the little
pieces levitated and began reassembling themselves on the tree
as if they were a giant 3d puzzle. When they were all up, the
tree looked precisely as it had before it had been climbed on.
"Good thing I read that book once about giant 3d puzzles" he
mused softly as he began to crawl underneath the boulder to get
out "I wonder what's new in crosswords these day..."
Dais paused, realizing that he wasn't actually moving anywhere.
Indeed, in his haste to get under the low-hovering boulder and
grab at everything, his left forehoof had become stuck.
Initially, he did consider teleporting, but for some strange
reason he'd always found it really hard to teleport when his
forehoof was stuck somewhere. He never really understood it
either. Thankfully he could just move his head far enough to
realize that his other awesome new friend had just also totally
       ditched him.
"Hello? Awesome new friend?" he called out, not really expecting
an answer. His ears drooped and his eyes turned towards the
ground. First Brash, then the mare with the snake, and finally
the stallion on the tree had all run away from him. What was he
       doing wrong?
"Umm - Carri? You're still there, right?" called out Dais
hopefully, not really bothering to consider why the rock would
be hovering if she wasn't, but he'd seen stranger things happen
anyway "I'm sort of stuck here, so uh - if you don't mind - do
you think you could lift the rock a bit higher? Just so long as
you can handle it. Whatever you do, DO NOT drop it. You hear me?
       DO NOT drop it."

Carri considered for a moment that when she heard the words
"Drop it" coming from directly below the boulder, which broke he
out of a sudden daydream she'd slipped into, that maybe he
needed her help with something else. Not bothering to think
anymore on that matter she glides forward and sets the boulder
down away from anypony and returns to Dais. "Did you need
       something?"
Noticing his struggle to move from where he stood she attempts
to formulate a plan in her head on how to proceed and still
accomplish her Brash-given duties in one swift move, but ends up
daydreaming again, though she simply looks like she's waiting
       for a response.
