By: Patches Date: May 3, 2014, 3:33 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Patches shook her head at the offer of a pepper. What a strange
thing to offer to somepony you had just met, even if the food
was said namesake. Perhaps this pony just wanted to promote what
he was selling here at this festival of something that Patches
still had yet to deduce, just like most of the other stall
running ponies here. Most of the stalls here were from pretty
well known places, but there were some that she definitely
didn't recognize, which she guessed to be the 'little guys'
trying to make their way in this economy. "No thank you, I'm not
all for eating peppers as they are. I can only really eat them
when I cook them with something, and even then, my tolerance for
them is pretty low." Of course this wasn't entirely true,
cooking with 'hot' foods was something she enjoyed doing every
once in a while, and eating a jalapeno without a second thought
was regular for her. She just balked at the idea of a trinidad
or a habanero though; there was such thing as too much of
       something good.
She looked down at the cat as it approached her, and she simply
watched it as it looked back at her. She wasn't very good with
most animals that weren't birds, but she was pretty sure that
this cat wanted attention of some sort. Hesitantly raising a
hoof, unsure if the cat would like what she was about to do,
Patches would try petting its head. That's what it wanted, yes?
She could never tell with some animals. "Finding someplace to
sit sounds nice," she began, "though I'm not sure how long I
will be staying. I was just going for my evening walk when I
came upon this gathering." She looked back around to the one
pony she recognized from before, who was accompanied by a
somewhat glowing noctral and an orange unicorn, and gestured
towards them, "Perhaps we should stick with them?"

Coal purred as Patches stroked the fur behind his ears, but
Kindle could see the mare wasn't quite comfortable around her
pet. "That's enough bothering other ponies for today, Coal," she
said, and gently levitated the cat back to her side. She looked
over to the group of ponies Patches pointed to, the same ones
that she had seen the Noctral join earlier. She was curious to
have a conversation with her, and maybe, finally, they could
figure out what the nighttime festival was for. "Sounds good to
me," Kindle replied to Patches, and began walking across the
grassy meadow towards the trio of ponies.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Ivory smiled delightfully at Lamplight, trotting in place as her
excitement seemed to be reaching critical mass. "It's amazing
times infinity!~ Mr. Fore--I don't know if you know him--helped
set this whole thing up as a giant surprise. Maybe now the other
residents will take some form of interest. Of course, I'm going
to have to get a few more things together for something official
official, but that's for a later time.~" The Noctral slowed down
just enough to get her words out properly, but she came to a
complete stop as Schwambart began to drop things and tried to
address her... She giggled outwardly, reaching out to give him a
hug before she suddenly found a cookie presented right in front
       of her.
Blinking in confusion, Ivory simply noms the whole cookie in one
bite. She wasn't one to pass up a free cookie, and if his
cookies were anything like his brownies, then Ivory might make
the effort to take off with the whole plate. Its sweetness was
perhaps an ounce overbearing, but for a sweet-fiend like Ivory,
it was perfect. After a few seconds of chewing and happily
dancing in place, the Noctral finally spoke up again. "Yes, I
know I'm glowing. Well, kinda..." Ivory paused to look herself
over; the moon's glow, depending on which direction she was
facing, was only just strong enough to bring her coat to a dull,
yet noticeable shimmer. "Moon's not quite in full swing yet,
although when it is, everypony around me will definitely know.
Just ask Lamplight~." Ivory smiled once more to the mare,
giggling softly before trying to achieve some sort of
eye-contact with Schwambart, now curious about his glasses, or
lack thereof. The Noctral decided not to bring it up for now,
although she swore she remembered something about him being as
blind as a... well... bat. She payed no mind to his stuttering
or his attempt to change the subject, already knowing full well
that this was just normal for him. Or at least as far as she
could tell... Regardless, she moved to sit right in front of
him, still wearing that genuine smile she flew in with. "I'm
really glad you came, Schwambart. I was afraid that I may have
scared you off somehow. By the way, the cookies are
       incredible.~"
Ivory then pushed off the ground, hovering slightly in midair
before redirecting her attention to Lamplight. "Miss Lamplight,
this here is Schwambart, another really good friend of mine.
Since this is his first time here and we have a completely new
setup, how about I guide you to the best place to sit? I can
even stick you by the musicians, if you'd like.~ They have
something special prepared for this performance, and I. Can't
Wait!~" As Ivory did a little aerial backflip in excitement, she
spotted something yellow coming their direction... "Hello~," she
       waved, now overly excited again.

Actually, for Ivory it'd be a strange twist of the old wedding
saying of 'Something new, something now and something old'
Except in this case it'd be a yellow unicorn, a orange and black
earth pone, and a patches! He turned his head towards Patches
and Kindle as they began to meander towards the group and
shrugs, chomping down on the mild bell pepper he had offered
Patches earlier as he idly shrugged. "I should've brought my
cart to sell Peppers, but ah well, I think enjoying this as not
a vendor might be nice, whatever this might be." He said,
humming to himself as they walked towards the group, head
tracking the flying pony with a bemused look on his face. "Man,
she must be excited for this....I wonder if it has anything to
       do with her specifically?"

Lamplight can't help a small sly smile from forming at
Schwambart's awkward stuttering. Seems the green pegasus had a
bit of a crush... Or at least to her it did. He had been talking
to Lamplight just fine a second ago, so she doubts it was just
being awkward with mares. Her little smile grows into a larger,
genuine one at Ivory's excitement. The name of the pony who had
set everything up does ring a bell with Lamplight, though she
can't remember exactly where she's heard it before. Maybe he'd
visited her tavern a few times. She'd be sure to thank him if
she saw him. She looks around as Ivory talks to Schwambart, the
small group who seems to be heading their way catching her eye.
These three she didn't recognize either, so she can only assume
they're interested in talking to Ivory. Lamplight turns her
attention back to the other two, smiling as Ivory introduces the
green pegasus. "It's good to meet you." She says, standing back
up since it seems they're going to be moving. She steps a little
closer as Ivory turns to greet the newcomers. "So how long have
       you known Ivory?"

By: Foxtrot Date: May 5, 2014, 8:38 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
As the festivities continue under the clear night sky, Foxtrot
resumes his evasion of his temporary captors. However the
physical exhaustion from going from roof to roof as starting to
take its toll, add that with the lack of sleep and you have a
very tired unicorn. He stops at the top of a two story house,
looking around to take in the sight; although he was being
pursued, it doesn't hurt to enjoy he sights. The cool breeze
       lifts the scents of the forest and fresh grass into the air;
Foxtrot takes a deep breath, his shoulders dropping as he
exhaled. He may not like it, but he has to lay low for a short
time. That was when he saw it, about a short five minute parkour
across town, was a gathering. A fireplace, food, and music
definitely seem like a public function. Part of the unicorn
urges him to stay away, reminding him of the pegasus he met
earlier and how that ended horribly. 'I'm on the run, I
shouldn't bring more ponies into this.' The rumbling of his
stomach insists otherwise, the grumbling continuing for some
time before receding. Foxtrot sighs, "Alright, just pass on
through to see what's up. Besides, I have to go that way anyway
to get to my good hiding spot." He looks down, frowning slightly
at the cuffs still locked over his hooves; glancing to his
shoulders, he pulls down the sleeves to his jacket, covering the
incriminating accessory. 'Just lay low, keep the talk short and
keep going.' With a short sigh Foxtrot pats himself down,
'Vindicator, check. Backpack, check. Guitar, check. Hood...' the
unicorn pulls his jacket's hood up, covering most of his face,
'Check.' Now sure that everything was in order, the unicorn
       begins pouncing from roof to roof until he nears the clearing;
from there he jumps down to the ground and continues at a slow
walking pace. On the far end of the was what looks like a
gathering, as if preparations are being made. Above the group of
ponies was a Noctral, something that did catch Foxtrot off guard
slightly, 'Huh, it's been a while since I've seen another one. I
wonder if they're Lunar Guard.' Figuring it was best not to
disturb the group and draw suspicion, Foxtrot instead skirts
along the stalls; to his pleasant surprise he finds most of the
vendors giving away free food. Of course he helps himself to a
few small things, curing his tummy ailment. Still armed with a
few snacks, the unicorn looks around, trying to find a more
secluded area of the festivities; unfortunately there is a more
empty area, but it meant walking by all of those ponies. He
could try going around, but with the forest on one end and the
buildings hiding the hunters on the other, there isn't much
wiggling room. "Ok Fox, you got this." The unicorn assures
himself as he begins walking towards the group, "Just walk past,
sit down, and catch your breath. Don't make eye contact with
anyone, you're just a background pony." His training on blending
into the background wasn't a problem, his occupation placing him
in situations that called for being a face in the crowd; but
this time it was different, the gathering was too few and far
       apart to just melt into the crowd. Canterlot wan't much problem;
in a city you run into ponies you rarely meet again. Ponyville
though, a small town where everypony knows everypony else,
living here in general is going to be difficult, especially if
situations like this keep happening. As he nears the group, he
strays off to the side, keeping his view to the ground as he
trots by as silently as he could.

"Hi," Kindle waved back to the hovering Noctral. With that much
excitement, surely she knew what the festival was for - or maybe
she was even personally involved in it, as Pepper had mentioned
it. Although Kindle had already met one mare in Ponyville who
seemed be excited about something all of the time, regardless of
whether she knew what was going on. "Hey, do you guys know what
this festival's about?" she asked, accidentally skipping polite
introductions in her curiosity over what they were gathered for.
"Oh, sorry, I'm Kindle. These are Pepper and Patches, maybe
you've met them before, and my cat... Coal?" To Kindle's
surprise, the black cat was no longer by her side. She searched
the nearby area frantically, catching sight of his dark form a
few yards away, accosting yet another unfamiliar pony. "Just a
sec, I have to go get my cat," she told the Noctral.
Coal was walking beside and meowing at a hooded pony walking
through the meadow. Kindle trotted in front of him and pulled
the cat away. "If you don't stop annoying other ponies, I'm
going to have to put you on a leash," she said crossly. "Sorry
about... that..." Kindle tralled off as she caught sight of the
other pony's expression. It seemed so intense that she backed
away for a few steps, before getting ahold of herself. Ponyville
was supposed to be a quiet town, she must just be overwhelmed by
all the strange faces she had seen today. "I, uh, hope you're
enjoying the festival... You could join us if you want," she
said to the hooded stallion nervously, trying to make up for her
initial rudeness. Then, she turned and walked briskly back to
stand near the Noctral, making sure Coal stayed close this time.

       Re: A Ponyville Lunar Festival
By: Patches Date: May 5, 2014, 11:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Patches followed Kindle to the group of three that had been
seated a ways away, occasionally glancing up at the sky to let
out a deep exhale when she was sure no pony immediately around
her was looking. So far so good, she was making what Slash had
called 'small talk' and she had yet to be mocked or ridiculed.
The dull throbbing in her head started to disappear as she could
feel her anxiousness begin to ebb away. This wasn't so bad,
surely Slash's training her to be social would be enough to get
her through the night without shying away. To make things even
better, she recognized one of the other ponies as she approached
even closer. The noctral, Ivory Star, she was the one who came
by after her duty with the weather patrol to help Patches escort
Schumburt to his nonexistant house. It had been a while since
she had last seen the noctral, and probably a few mane cuts
later, but it was hard to forget somepony like her.
Arriving next to the newly formed group of six, she simply sat
down near the edge, watching each individual for a while and
nodding politely when she was introduced. She didn't say much
though, she was more of a listener than a speaker, so she was
content for now with just listening to what was being discussed,
and choosing to speak up when she was comfortable with this
newly formed group. There was nothing wrong with that, surely.
Her ears twitched a little as she watched the cat jump off of
Kindle's back, making its way over to another pony that seemed
to be just walking by the group with his head down and a hood
over his head. So suspicious, especially given the fact that he
was looking at the ground when the entire area of ponies were
more content with stargazing. This was the kind of behavior that
Patches would watch for in her shop; it was the difference
between turning a profit in that week and suffering hundreds of
bits worth of losses from stolen merchandise, and this pony
would have been one to set off all the red lights and alarms in
Patches' head just by how he was acting. She was staring now at
this point, two emerald green eyes focused on the stallion as he
made his way around the group, and the more she stared, the more
suspicious she became of him. Hopefully that weapon he carried
was not going to be used, but even then, her training as a
Samareai told her to watch him for now.

By: Schwambart Date: May 6, 2014, 2:31 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Schwambart turns back to look at Ivory when she begins talking
to him, her features easier to distinguish this close but still
blurred. Yout can do this, Cambart. You've been talking for
years. Surely you won't forget just because a mare seems to be
doing her best to turn your knees into jello. He smiles in a
way that hopefully won't come off as deranged, then squints to
get a better look at Ivory's face, make sure she isn't reacting
       badly to his horrid reaction.
Oh gosh. He did that at exactly the wrong (or right) time,
catching an eyeful of Ivory's dazzling, genuine smile, the kind
that implies that the smiler has nothing to hide and would just
love to be your friend. The fangs of the Noctral just makes it
seem even more so to him, as he's pretty sure he couldn't manage
a smile like that if he had teeth like that. The overall effect
is...well, let's just say he's glad he was already sitting down,
because after catching a beam like that directed at him he
wouldn't have been able to stay on his hooves anyway. And
falling would have caused his cheeks and ears to burn even more
than they are doing. In fact, he finds it infectious, sneaking
onto his face as well, though on him it looks more like a silly
grin. "N-no," he says quietly, trying to force it down in favor
of a more normal expression to little success, "d-didn't scare
me aw-way at all, Ivory, just, uh, *ahem*" He clears his throat
at the end of his stuttering attempt at conversation before
       giving up.
The best seat, she says? Well, that sounds awfully nice of her.
It might be kind of wasted on him without his glasses, but she
says it's also next to the musicians. He wouldn't mind that
part. "I, uh, musicians! Yes, I'd like, uh...I'll..." he says,
varying his volume erratically before taking a deep breath.
"I'llgetmystuff," he says in a rush, standing up in the process
before promptly falling over. Face flaming, he staggers to his
hooves. "I-I know how to w-walk, I p-promise," he mutters,
nearly proving himself to speak falsely as he stumbles again,
this time managing to catch himself before falling. Phase 1
completed. Now, phase 2: pick up your stuff. He steps to the
edge of the blanket and manages not to set off the collapse of
modern civilization, which is a pleasant surprise, and he begins
scooping up his bag, violin case, blanket and cookie bag without
starting any world wars. That he knows of.
"N-nice to meet you, Lamplight, I-I'm Schwambart-t, call me, uh,
Schwambart, Cappy, Carpal Tunnel, or maybe 'that dern green
pegasus', that one seems to be a favorite," he says, managing to
control himself a little bit for his semi-routine introduction,
everything aside from his actual name (which he forgot to
mention aside from his surname) improvised. "Haven't known her
to long, but she, uh, helped when I was, uh, moving in,
       uh...problems with house, uh..."
He breaks off when the other group comes over, introduction
flying. Schwambart unconsciously takes a small step back eyeing
thefuzzy newcomers with a squint that hopefully doesn't mame him
look angry or anything. Patches. Why does hat name sound
familiar? He peers at one of the shapes while the yellow one
turns and goes, saying something about her cat. That blob looks
       familia, but wh-
Oh, that's right. That was the very first blob he saw here in
Ponyville. Along with the other faintly glowing blur hovering
nearby. Her triangle was on her back, not her head. That must
be what was throwing him off. "Oh, h-hi Ms-" No, she's married.
That hulkink mass f muscle that may or may not be bigger in his
memory that she was married to was her husband. "Mrs...".
Shoot. What was that last name? It started with one of those
letters late in the alphabet. "...Zapper?". Well, he'd have to
go with that. "I-it's nice to see you a-again."

Pepper sat back looking at everything curiously it he did seem
to radiate a small sense of unease Bout being in such a large
group his smile getting less enthusiastic and more cautious
watching as kindle and the others seem to blend in so easily.
Eventually he found himself in thenperiphRy of the group looking
up in the sky at the stars. "Maybe I should have gone back to
the farm." He mused to himself. "This large gathering of ponies
thing doesn't seem to be my style." He muttered softly watching
the dazzling noctral in the air, waving a hoof at her if he
thought she was looking, but his eyes remained upwards drifting
towards the moon for the moment, shoulders slightly hunched as
if trying to make himself look smaller.
