Striker finally turned his attention to Kindle when Vinyl
mentioned that she had something. Kindle levitated the signed
paper towards Striker, keeping the autograph facing away from
him to draw out the surprise a bit longer.
       "What's that?" her brother asked.
"I think you'll like it," Kindle replied, pushing the paper into
his hoof. She watched Striker's eyes widen as he read the
       message and signature.
"I can't believe this! Kindle, you're the best sister ever!"
Even though Kindle had been expecting some praise, even hoping
for it, she still blushed at her brother's words. "I can't
really take any credit," she said. "It was all Vinyl's idea, and
she was the one who signed it."

"Whaaaaaaat? I have no idea what she's talking about," Vinyl
said dismissively after Kindle said the autograph thing was all
her idea. "She totally asked me for an autograph to give to you.
Yep." Vinyl finished this statement off with a single, resolute
nod before raising a hoof to fiddle with the earbuds still
blasting its music. "So, a pyrotechnician, huh? Pretty small
niche for unicorns it seems. Which is kinda surprising,
honestly. I mean, who wouldn't jump at the opportunity to play
with some fire and make some cool looking stuff? If that's your
talent, though, you must be hell at parties," she said
teasingly, tossing him a grin in accompaniment.

Striker grinned as Kindle and Vinyl each tried to give the
credit for the autograph to the other mare. He honestly didn't
care whose idea it had been - it was amazing just to be holding
a paper signed by DJ P0N-3. Not only that, he was still chatting
with his favorite celebrity. This potentially the best day of
his life! "Yeah, I've always been surprised there aren't more
unicorns at the university studying the same thing as me,"
Striker responded, keeping up the conversation. He thought about
what had inspired him to try and be a pyrotechnician in the
first place, and wondered if he should tell Vinyl - Well, why
not? He might never get another chance. "Actually, I've wanted
to be a pyrotechnician ever since I saw one of your concerts up
in Canterlot - all those fancy lights and special effects, it's
my dream to contribute to something like that." Striker was
blushing, but he hoped Vinyl wouldn't notice, and continued
talking. "Also, with all the firework shows in Canterlot for the
different celebrations and royal events, there's a lot of things
to be done year round. I'm hoping I'll be able to help design
some of the fireworks for the next Sun Celebration."

The grin on Vinyl's face faded slightly as the stallion
responded to her, agreeing how it was strange not many others
were in the pyrotechnics field as well. That kind of thing was
something she wouldn't mind learning a little bit about, maybe
so she could add just that much more during some of her shows.
But it just seemed like she never had the time to get around to
something like that... As Striker mentioned that it was actually
one of her shows that inspired him to pursue his dream, she
raised a brow at him in surprise before grinning a little bit
once more. "I'd say it sounds like you've got a pretty lucrative
future planned for yourself there, Striker. You get good enough
and you'll have ponies lining up to you to make their events
better. And, of course, it's ponies like you that were the real
masterminds behind making the shows as flashy as they were. I
just told them what I wanted, and what I thought might be cool,
and they worked their magic. Who knows, if you ever impress me
enough, I may even consider hiring you for one of the shows.
"I'd have to see what you could do first, though... How 'bout
this: why don't you keep this..." she said as she took the quill
from before and gently levitated the piece of paper back over to
herself so she could write something on the back. "And contact
me through mail if you get the chance and some time, and we'll
set up something for you to show me what you can do." She then
levitated the piece of paper back over to Striker, showing him
the Ponyville address she'd written down.

Striker took the paper from Vinyl, staring practically in shock
at the inked words. "Kindle, I think you need to kick me to
convince me I'm not dreaming," Striker whispered to his sister.
It felt like a dream! First an autograph, and now... well, not a
job offer, but an opprotunity a least. Of course he wouldn't be
able to jump right into his dream job without completing his
training, that idea was ridiculous, but now he had a real
       chance.
"Thanks, Vinyl, honestly, this is spectacular. You've only just
met me, but you've already made today one of the best days
ever." Striker was so glad that he had decided to take this trip
down to Ponyville on a whim. "I don't know how I could make it
up to you," he said, "but if you ever need a favor while you're
up in Canterlot, just let me know, and I'll be right there to
       help you out."

Vinyl just chuckled at Striker's awed response and rose a hoof
in dismissal. "It's no problem, dude. How about you make it up
to me by really impressing me with a display? 'Cause I'm gonna
just say it now: I can't accept anything less than the best.
I've got a seal of quality I gotta maintain for my fans.
Regardless... I've gotta go finish picking up the rest of my
groceries. So it's been nice chatting with you both." She then
looked over to Kindle as she picked up the candles she'd bought.
"Hey, when do you want that tour I suggested earlier? If we
don't schedule it now, I'm liable to get caught up in other
things and it'd possibly slip my mind."

"I'm sure Striker will be part of the best once he graduates,"
Kindle bragged for her brother, since she knew he wasn't going
to. And from what she'd heard from some of the other university
ponies, it probably wasn't stretching the truth too much. Now,
what was that about a tour? Oh, right, Vinyl had offered to show
her around Ponyville. With Striker's sudden appearance, she had
forgotten about it already. Kindle tipped her head slightly to
the side, trying to remember her schedule for the next few days.
"I think I'm free tomorrow afternoon, and the day after, if
those work okay for you. If you're busy then, that's fine, I'm
sure I'll be free sometime later in the week. I'm trying to
schedule a meeting with the beekeeper, I forget what her name
is, to pick up some wax for candles, but other than that I
haven't got too much to do."

Vinyl gave another nod to Kindle after she laid out a schedule
that would work for her, the glasses wearing mare pausing for a
moment to think if she had anything planned for either of those
two days. "Alright, how about a couple days from now? Around
noon? And we'll meet... back here. Aaanyway, you let me know
when you're ready to wow me, yeah?" she said with a grin as she
looked to Striker before stepping away and waving to the both of
them. "Been nice talking to you both. See you around!" she
called over her shoulder in farewell, her earbuds going back
into her ears as she went to buy the rest of the items she'd
       been sent out to retrieve.

"That time sounds good for me. See you around," Kindle called to
Vinyl. She would definitely mark her first sale as a success.
She had not only managed to make some money from candles, she
had gotten to know somepony in Ponyville, and even introduced
her brother to his hero. Overall, it was not a bad way to start
       off her business.
