Looked around a little bit as he stretched, hearing his back pop
just a bit as Pepper looked at him. "It's just....sweet." He
said with a bit of a giggle as he gently tapped the ground with
his hoof. "Very unusual." He waved his tail back and forth
lazily before he trotted up tot he counter. Ordering a pair of
cupcakes, Pepper woudl giggle lightly, looking over the
cupcakes, he would politely wait for Marked to get his own
treat, sitting at a table curiously once Marked took a seat,
Pepper would lean forward, taking a bite of his cupcake, before
a soft blush colored his muzzle. "Ah..th..that's sweet and
good." He said playfully, swaying liughtly as if the taste was
almost entirely new to the stallion...mare...thing~!

Hm? Marked raised an eyebrow slightly but decided to just assume
that Pepper found sweet things unusual simply out of how she
grew blazing hot peppers and probably ate them regularly. Oh
well, Marked thought as he followed her up to the counter,
Marked ordering himself a slice of apple pie - because it was
best pie - then trotting over to a table where the two of them
sat down as he brushed off the thought.
Possibly a bit over eager for his sugar fix, Marked wasted
little time in taking a hearty bite of his food, a happy smile
playing about his features as the familiar sweet and almost
euphoric taste of Sugar Cube Corner's baking filled his senses.
Seeing Pepper's reaction to her cupcakes, Marked almost chuckled
again.
"Wow. Heh. Yeah, that's the first time you've had a cupcake from
here all right. I've seen a couple of other ponies get like that
before.. but they usually don't blush," Marked added playfully,
remembering Pepper's own jest about his previous blushing from
earlier.

Would giggle softly. "Yeah....it's good." She said softly,
giggling, before He looked Mark up and down. "That's a big slice
of pie." He said consuming his other cupcake in slow dainty
nibbles, tails wagging back and forth, lifting up and down in
lazy twitches concentrating on the cupcake as he nibbled and
licked upon it, eyes closed in blissful joy.

Well... Marked would have considered it more of an "average"
sized slice really. Then again he was more used to the generous
servings that the Corner commonly gave ponies. Always made
plenty so why not give plenty, right? Not like they needed to be
stingy with what they baked because of any kinds of financial
issues; the place made plenty of bits a day with how popular it
was.
Still, Marked looked a touch embarassed over how Pepper seemed
to be eating her food in a much more controlled manner compared
to his large bites. But... He doubted he'd be able to help that
any more than he could help himself when faced with such
delicious treats.
"Oh, before I forget again," Marked said, one hoof finding its
way to his pocket to retrieve his glasses while his other
brought him momentary confusion, it taking him a second to
remember that the lumpy mass in his usual storing place for his
notebook was now being occupied by peppers instead, "I was going
to ask you a few things back at your cart. Could you tell me how
a pony could build up a tolerance to spicy food? I know I heard
you mention that you simply build a tolerance through exposure,
but I was wondering if its better to go little by little -
eating the real tame stuff for a long time - or if just going
all in with the more hardcore peppers would shock my system into
accepting it faster? Also, could you describe what the hotter
peppers you have are like to eat? I doubt a mare like you would
think there all that big a deal, but a slight warning for
somepony like me as to what to expect might help."

The earth pony blinked as the writer put on his glasses oh! He
was going to be interviewed how novel an idea! He paused in
thought for a moment before shaking his head. "Definitely a bad
idea to try and shock yourself into tolerance with the big hots,
because eating too much of them too fast can be a harrowing
experience, at the very least better to try the tamer ones until
you find a taste and heat your comforTable with." He said sagely
suddenly becoming verbose with cupcake crumbs lining his muzzle
and a bit of icing on his nose. "The hotter ones are.. They
start of with a warming sensation on Your tongue that builds up
until your muzzle practically wings with the heat, everything
from your nose to your belly will feel it and if you like it...
Well the. You can revisit the song anytime." He said with a
charming, adorable smile as of that explained it at all.

Welp! That settled thst it seemed. While he'd already pretty
much made up his kind on the matter, the fact that pepper hadn't
corrected him when he called her a mare seemed a good enough
sign that he was accurate in his assumption.
Now he could just focus on the research on these peppers, and
from the sound of things his idea of just doing everything at
once to get it over with was a poor one. Trying the "tamer"
ones, which he assumed meant the less intense ones he'd already
bought, sounded like a much better course of action. At least
that way he already knew what to expect when it came to the of
what he was dealing with. This only made him curious however..
"What's the hottest pepper you've got over on your farm?" asked
Marked, the last thing Pepper had said earning a slightly raised
eyebrow.

Pepper was weird. Lesigh. His head tilted to the side a little
bit as he looked Marked over, nibbling delicately on the last
bit of cupcake. "Your going to make me fat, Marked." He teased.
"Introducing me to this place, Mmm...I wonder if they would make
pepper cupcakes.." He mused on this for a moment before settling
back into the present. "Hottest pepper?" That took him a moment.
"Oh! I know. I have a pepper from the everfree forest...it's
flesh is ghost white with a black stem, it's so hot thatr I have
to pick it up with a special bit in my mouth and even then the
metal will start to warm quickly if I'm not carefd0ul. I can
only serve it in very small slices, or people get mad!"

"Hehe, maybe. I think I've heard of one of the ponies who works
here dousing theirs in hot sauce on occasion, so a pepper
cupcake could be pretty possible as a special order." Marked
responded to the idea after chuckling from Pepper's comment of
how he is to blame for any possible weight gain for her in Tue
near future.
"Ghost white..." The writer then said aloud as he jotted down
the words in his notebook, "... Black stem... Too hot to
touch... And what's that pepper called? Is it rare, or is it
just in too dangerous a place to reach easily? I can't imagine
many recipes making use of a pepper that sounds downright
dangerous to even handle."

He would giggle. "I call them Ghosthots. I don't know if there
is an official canterlot backed term for them....there isn't a
royal society of pepper namers, as far as I know." He said a bit
goofily. He had found himself trialing off and simply staring
at Marked, glancing at the way the stallion moved and talked,
Pepper was sure enjoying himself, that was for sure for the
'Mare.' He even began to vaguely think of this as a little mini
date instead of a interview, Well, this is what couples did
right? Go to this sugarcube corner and eat cupcakes/pies and
talk?
"Um." He said snapping ouit of his reverie when he realized the
handsome stallion was no longer just repeating the properties of
the pepper. "It's a little rare, but it's actually fairly easy
to cultivateoutside the everfree forest, I have a small clutch
of them for speciality orders, but occassionally I like to go
into the forest and pluck wild ones for their seeds...keep the
pool from looking like an appaloosa family bush.."

"Wait, so you still go out to the Everfree to collect these
'Ghosthot' seeds instead of just keep to the ones on your farm?
Do you go out there alone, or with somepony? How 'occasionally'
do you make these trips, and how do you deal with, you know, the
timberwolves, hydras, crocodillys, cockatrices, manticores
and... well, everything else in there?"
Marked, especially after living so close to it for a while, knew
that the Everfree Forest was no joke. With all the flora and
fauna in that mess of twisting trails and gnarled branches on
the hunt twenty four seven, he'd always assumed most avoided the
place unless they had a darn good reason to go out there. Either
these peppers were really really valuable to the right ponies,
or Pepper herself knew how to handle danger better than most
ponies.
