Minecraft Server
By: Sepheris Date: March 17, 2014, 10:15 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Server is set up using the Direwolf20 pack for Minecraft
v1.7.10. Player cap is currently set to 5, but I can increase
that should interest exceed expectations.
Server IP: 192.111.137.154
Current Version: 1.4.1
Now, you will need to download the Feed The Beast
HTML http://www.feed-the-beast.com/
launcher from their site. When
you get that running, you'll want to select the latest
Direwolf20 pack from the list and launch it. The launcher will
install and configure everything for you. If you have any
issues, let me know and I'll try to help, but you may be better
off trying their forums or subreddit (I personally have more
luck with the subreddit, but that's just me).
And question, again, feel free to ask me and I'll get back to
you as soon as I can.
For those that feel so inclined, donations to keep the server
running can be sent here:
HTML http://playments.creeperhost.net/gQR
All money sent there can only be used for the server (I have no
way of using it for me personally).

Things have changed since moving onto 1.7.10 in regards to
MineLittlePony
HTML http://www.minelittlepony.com/wiki/Main_Page.
For starters, it's
a lot simpler.
First, you'll need to download the relevant files.
MineLittlePony and LiteLoader can both be downloaded here
HTML https://www.dropbox.com/s/b9ottlgl2jhvjjh/1.7.10%20MineLittlePony.rar?dl=0<br
/>(LiteLoader needs a bit of fiddling, so I just did it all and
put it and MineLP in a single compressed folder. Just remember
to extract the two files inside it).
After that, it's a simple case of bringing up the FTB launcher
and clicking the edit mod pack button while the Direwolf20 pack
is selected, then click add mod and browse to where ever the two
files are and add them both. And you're done.
Now, there's a couple of things worth pointing out;
[li]For some reason, skins aren't displaying to other players,
so every player will look like a random pony, but you will still
have you're own correct skin (from your perspective). This isn't
an issue with MineLP, even after removing the mod, players are
appearing as the default Steve to others.[/li]
[li]The Morph mod doesn't play too well with MineLP this time
around. You can use it to take on the properties of other mobs
(flight, collision size, fire immunity, ect), but you will
always appear as a full sized pony (and you will appear to phase
through blocks if the mob you become has a smaller collision
box). This one is an issue with MineLP as the removal of it
makes Morph behave normally. I've spent a few hours trying
various "fixes" but nothing has worked yet.[/li]
If none of that bothers you, then feel free to install it. Also,
if anyone should manage to get skins to display correctly, or
morph to work with MineLP, let me know. Thanks.

Unfortunately, the Radio has been removed from OpenBlocks. If
that ever changes, I may get around to reinstating the radio
stations.
[s]After Ryo mentioned it to me and piqued my interest, I looked
into a certain little item in the pack called the Radio, added
by the OpenBlocks mod. There's items in the game called tuning
crystals which allow it to tune into radio stations. Only
there's a couple of catches.
First off, I have to personally add the radio station to the
mod's config files. Secondly, it will only support certain
formats. Most internat radio stations use the same 2/3 formats
anyway, so that's no big deal. The biggest is the current
version of the mod pack we're using. No, it's not a case of
we're using something out dated. It's the developers. The
version we're using is the exact point they decided to cut all
the files that will actually allow you to listen to the radio
and put them as a secondary download/mod addon.
Now. The first one is a bit of a pain to deal with, since only I
have access to the mod files (not too big of a deal) but to make
any change (no matter how small) I will have to shutdown the
entire server. So if I ever add a radio station, I would,
ideally, like to do multiple at a time.
The second isn't really an issue. It's mostly to let you all
know that I might not be able to add every station someone
suggests. Oh, and I'm open to suggestions. I'm not really sure
about any particular themes or anything, but try not to get
things inappropriate. The stations I've added are all a part of
the fandom, not sure if to just keep with that or not. Guess
I'll see what people suggest (if anything).
The third is the biggie. Well... potentially. Like I said, the
files needed to actually use the radio are a separate mod addon
now. If you want to listen to and hear the radios, you will need
to download and install NotEnoughCodecs over here
HTML http://openmods.inf
o/. Notice I said "if", this codec is
entirely client side, if you don't have it installed, you won't
hear anything and radios will give you an error saying it's an
Unknown Stream Type (though they still play a brief sound file
as though trying to tune in).
So, if you think listening to some internet radio on your ingame
radio is something you'd want to do, go install NotEnoughCodecs
HTML http://openmods.inf
o/, otherwise, just continue as you were. Oh,
and I suppose you'll want a list of current radio stations.
These I just grabbed from the PonyvilleLive Network
HTML http://ponyvillelive.com/
of radio stations. There's only 13 in
the network and I grabbed 7 that seemed a good variety and may
add more later.

[s]I've been informed that there's a mod called FastCraft that
supposedly helps frame rates and lag.
HTML http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=10820
It's entirely optional, it works as a client or server side only
thing (you'd need it in your client to help with framerate
issues). So, download it completely optional. Just click the
"Edit Modpack" button on the launcher while having the
Direwolf20 pack selected and then the "Add Mod" button on the
window that pops up, browse to and select the FastCraft .jar
file and you should be all set.[/s]
As of v1.1.1, FastCraft is installed in the pack by default. So
better frame rates all around.

I also wanted to add this. I found a site that has a dedicated
server for rebuilding Equestria. You can apply as a builder, or
just join the server to have a look around (which I may do at
some point). That aside, they have a forum full of tutorials for
building houses and the like in a show-type style and figured it
may interest some of you;
