fond of your mother, however I could never truly bring myself to
'love' her in the way that most thought I did. I loved her as a
friend. And I truly did hate your father. But I think you've
been punished enough in his stead."

Severus sighed, not sure of why he was doing this. "Potter, I
hated your father, but I didn't want to. He forced me to, by way
of humiliation. But the truth is," he stopped and sighed,
"Potter, I'm protecting you with my life, not to get back at
your father, or because I loved your mother. I am protecting you
because I wanted to watch you grow, and become your own person.
And now...I think it's gone too far. I think I have an unnatural
affection for you."
