OOC: Your following post can be the closing post if you'd like!
Vera's practically done here. I'm alright if you want to add a
few things to the conversation before Vera yawns, as well. BIC:
Verochka Stolich-Königin
"So. Americans, right? They're everywhere. I'm glad to know
someone from Across The Water, at the very least." Lilith
changed the topic.
"Me also. Americans!" She waved her hand, as if 'Americans'
equaled a dozen flies buzzing around her face and she was trying
to swat them away. "Most of them can't cook, most of them don't
read, and half of them... well, their politicians aren't that
bad, I guess. But they get away with crap that wouldn't last at
home." she said. "Or so I'd hoped, anyway."
She knew what it was like to be the child of politicians. It
wasn't all that fun.
"True," Lilith finished off the last of her coffee, reminding
Vera that she had her own drink. She took a sip, and winced. It
was cold.
Just as Lilith added, "And they have horrible fashion sense",
Verochka commented "Although they do have half-decent fashion
sense."
Lilith paused for a moment, her expression surprised. Then she
let out a laugh, long and hard. Vera's chuckle wasn't quite as
strong, but she still laughed as well at the timing.
"Haha..do you really think so? I've been trying to ignore all
the tube tops and Uggs I've been seeing everywhere I go. One of
these days, I may go into a mall and vomit from overdose."
"Oh, never Uggs. I don't understand why they are such a big deal
either. Formless footwear. Blech. Tube tops really aren't that
much better. I mean, just put on a bikini top already. It has
about the same effect." She wrinkled her nose. "But some of the
rest is not so bad, I guess. Although I tip my hat to France's
fashion industry." She smiled at Lilith, but eyed the coffee
shop for a garbage bin. She would probably chuck her drink
before it got too cold. She could make tea later.
She might have thought differently about fashion earlier in the
semester, but France was starting to grow on her. And she knew
Lilith was from France.
A huge yawn cracked her jaw open for several seconds longer than
she thought necessary. "Ow." She rubbed the hinge of her jaw for
a second. "I'll take that as my cue to go home and to bed, early
as it is. Maybe I will get some decent sleep tonight." The
homework that would go undone was not a big deal. She would do
her best to finish it all in the morning.
She was not entirely convinced that she would get to sleep easy,
but she would at least sleep. There was only so long her body
could function before she just passed out.

Just as Lilith added, "And they have horrible fashion sense",
Verochka commented "Although they do have half-decent fashion
sense." It gave them an awkward moment of pause, wherein either
girl was unsure as to what to say next, before they both started
to laugh a little at their own timing.
"Haha..do you really think so? I've been trying to ignore all
the tube tops and Uggs I've been seeing everywhere I go. One of
these days, I may go into a mall and vomit from overdose."
"Oh, never Uggs.” Verochka agreed with her on that area, at
least, for which Lilith was thankful, “I don't understand why
they are such a big deal either. Formless footwear. Blech. Tube
tops really aren't that much better. I mean, just put on a
bikini top already. It has about the same effect." She wrinkled
her nose. "But some of the rest is not so bad, I guess. Although
I tip my hat to France's fashion industry." She smiled at
Lilith, who gave a thin smile but said nothing in response. She
honestly couldn't really tell whether Verochka meant the comment
sarcastically or not, but she wasn't needy enough to probe the
other girl for an answer. Their gazes wandered off for a moment,
and a silence fell again, before Verochka let out another
dragged out yawn.
"Ow." She rubbed the hinge of her jaw for a second. "I'll take
that as my cue to go home and to bed, early as it is. Maybe I
will get some decent sleep tonight."
Lilith offered another tight-lipped smile, nodding in
understanding to Verochka's need for sleep as soon as possible.
“Hopefully. You look like you need the rest. Try not to let
fashion kill you.” She sat back in her chair, her long
fingernails tapping against the cardboard as she still held her
empty cup in her long fingers. “The pins and needles tend to
make you bleed more than expected.”
Once Verochka had finally moved off, Lilith went to dump her
empty cup and return to her shift. But the rest of the time she
spent in the coffee shop, her mind kept wandering to things they
probably shouldn't. Such as the pile of unfinished sewing
projects on her own couch. Or the cell phone in her pocket,
vibrating with the occasional text. Or her own homework.
This interaction is finished. But Lilith is still up for an
interaction, if you like! Anyone want to torture her/earn some
nasty sarcasm?
