Drabble - By The Sea - Yukirin - Mature Rating
By: Mascii Date: June 12, 2013, 12:06 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Warning: some slightly mature smexy things. (Set in
future-verse)
There was a warm breeze blowing that day, tugging at her hair
and making her eyes sting. She looked over at Yukito, standing
on a few clusters of rock that jutted out into the sea. He wore
just a pair of black swimming trunks today, both of them
barefooted and without much in the way of luggage. It had kind
of been a spur of a moment thing, the trip to the beach. She had
woken up in their grimy little apartment with Yukito’s lips
pressed to hers, and heard him whisper that she should get
dressed. When she asked him why they were going today, he had
just said that he needed it. Erin hadn’t pushed the matter, both
too happy at the prospect to really care, and also knowing that
it was probably something to do with Hal that he couldn’t talk
to her about yet. But that was alright, she could wait. He would
talk to her eventually, in his own time. But for today, they
mutually, silently, agreed not to care, to enjoy the sun and the
sand and the water and just being together. Erin had happily
donned her favorite two piece, just for him, and brought a
little ice chest packed with a few scavenged goodies for them.
“Hey, whatchya lookin’ at?” she called out, following him. The
rock had been washed smooth by the saltwater, and even she had
to watch her step. Yukito looked up at her with those solemn
eyes, sending her a little ghost of a smile before taking her
hand and drawing her toward him. His hands trailed their way
along her hips and encircled her, locking them together as he
buried his face in her hair. At first she was a little
surprised, but then she was just grateful, pulling him into her
own hug. They stayed just like that for a long time, the sea
spray tickling at their feet as it splashed its way up the rock,
the roar around their ears pressing in from all around them.
Once he released her, she looked up and sent him a smile that
stretched from ear to ear.
“I still can’t believe you flew us here..I mean, jeez…girls
boast when their boyfriends cook them breakfast.”
Yukito just smiled, running a hand through her long hair. It had
grown out very long now, and he was constantly playing with it.
She wished he would just talk to her about whatever-it-was. Not
to say she wasn’t getting used to it, but…it was hard to be
patient sometimes.
They wandered back toward the beach where Erin had laid out the
towels, and Erin eagerly pulled out one of the tubs she had
packed. “Hey, it didn’t melt all that much yet!”
“What?” Yukito queried, looking out at the sea.
“The ice cream!” She scooped out three spoonfuls of the soft
chocolate into a plain cone she had brought with her, quickly
replacing it in the cooler and sitting next to him on the towel.
Erin joined him in silence for a minute, watching the waves,
then she glanced over at him. She couldn’t see his eyes because
of the sunglasses, but she could see the thin line of his lips
and his posture, and she could tell he was still really
bothered, and trying hard not to show it.
“It’s amazing that you found this place!” she exclaimed,
determined to lighten the mood. “It’s like a friggen’ private
beach, like we’re some kind of rich celebrities or something,”
she succeeded in making him smile a little at that, at least.
“It’s because of the rocks,” he said quietly, looking on either
side of them, then pointing off to their left. “They’re probably
a bunch of people down that way.”
“Wow, you can’t hear them at all,” she licked at her ice cream,
but it was melting much quicker than anticipated. “If I didn’t
know better, I’d think we were stranded on some deserted island!
Hmmm…I’d be okay with that!”
Yukito smiled again, considering her words. He watched the ice
cream as it started to melt down around her fingers while she
hurriedly tried to salvage every drop of it. She suddenly let
out a little groan as some of it splattered down on her exposed
stomach.
“Ugh! It’s melting too fast!” she giggled, holding out the cone
to Yukito, demanding his help in consuming the treat. Instead of
helping her clean up the cone, though, Yukito removed his
sunglasses and bent down to lick the ice cream that had drizzled
onto her stomach, making her gasp in surprise. Something in her
abdomen jolted along with her, and she drew her right knee up a
little to keep her balance. “Yukito!” she giggled, expecting him
to stop and pull away, silent and solemn as ever. But instead,
he kept going and her giggles deepened, coming in sweet little
waves. She wasn’t sure what he thought he was doing, but she
wasn’t going to complain. She could feel the coolness of the ice
cream against the warmth of his tongue on her skin, and it was
making little goosebumps rise up on her arms. Yukito leaned
forward, trying to catch every drop.
“Yukito..” she whispered, trying not to show how breathless she
was already, “What are you doing?” In reply, Yukito made the
journey up her torso, exploring the edges of the bikini top she
wore, while his hands started running up and down the sides of
her body, his fingertips catching on her swimsuit. Then
suddenly, he dragged his tongue up against her neck. Silenced,
she lifted her chin to offer it to him, swallowing roughly. Just
a trace of his teeth touched along her jawline, and she let out
a little whimpering sound. The cone in her hand fell to the
sand, forgotten.
Her hands wound around his neck even as she started to feel the
pressure of his shoulder against her. His skin felt taut but his
touch was gentle, and her mouth opened to receive his kiss as he
finally…finally…made it to her mouth. She was quite happily
preoccupied with that activity for some time, and didn’t even
notice when his hands had started to wander again, knowing only
that she didn’t want him to move away. She didn’t want him to
put a distance between them ever again. If they could stay like
this, she would be happy. Months of going back and forth, months
of never understanding each other, and feeling like the other
didn’t care. Months of beating themselves up over the stupidest
things. Dealing with Hal and the resistance, deaths, new
beginnings…none of it mattered. He was here, with her, right
now. She had to learn how to appreciate that simply for what it
was.
She felt like the Yukito of here and now, with his calloused
fingertips catching on her swimsuit material and on her skin,
was the real Yukito. Here was another shade of him that he kept
constantly hidden. Here was the way he loved her, and wanted
her. Erin was drawn up from her position by some invisible
thread that sent shivers down her spine – when had his hands
become so cold? She opened her eyes briefly and found little
trails of the melted ice cream had been drawn all along her
skin, dripping from Yukito’s fingertips as his hands started the
descent. She felt increasingly restless, trying to shift her
position, and she felt like he was deliberately holding her down
without even giving much effort into it, he looked so calm…
Erin jumped suddenly, letting out another gasp as Yukito’s hand
crossed the forbidden barrier of her swimsuit, slipping through
and knocking the breath out of her. “Yuki-”
He placed a single finger to his lips, watching her face for a
long moment, his working hand continuing even as he leaned
forward to kiss the corner of her lips.
“Someone could see us…” she whispered, as if speaking at a
normal volume would give them away. He sent her a look, almost
reprimanding, and then smiled, turning his attention back to
other, more unexplored parts of her. She knew what he meant,
without him even speaking. There was no way someone would come
along this way – if he thought that was even a possibility, he
wouldn’t have risked it. She should know him better than that.
What? Better than what? He had his hands in her swimsuit! She
let out another little whimpering sound, completely unsure of
herself now, and Yukito stopped, looking up at her with his head
tilted to the side curiously. He seemed to become more aware of
her state, then, and was suddenly quite concerned.
“Are you okay?” he queried, frowning and sitting back a little,
as though she had verbally reprimanded him. She looked up at
him, sticky from the ice cream and still trembling from his
touch. He watched her, waiting for an answer. She wasn’t sure
what to tell him, but she knew that she didn’t want him to stop.
“Y-y-yes..” she managed, then sent him a reassuring smile. “It’s
just…I wasn’t expecting..this..”
“So this...this is okay?” he asked again, his eyes pleading for
honesty. He still hadn’t moved back toward her. Erin smiled
again, giving a nod. After a moment, she giggled, still feeling
weak in the knees from before. She was leaning back now, her
hands propping her up against the towel, and she could feel the
little shiver in her own muscles as Yukito moved back toward
her. This time, he started out more cautiously, going one hand
at a time. One of her own hands followed a little behind his
like an echo as it journeyed across the sticky skin, pausing at
her hip bone, circling back to her swimsuit top, the straps now
loosened. Their hands abandoned each other then, her cupping his
jaw in hers as she kissed him deeply. Although she had initiated
the kiss this time, he played into it a little more, nudging his
chin up once or twice, encouraging her. But all Erin could do
was sit there, trying to get her breath back, waiting for the
next wave of shivers to return. He gently laid her head down
against the towel so that she was stretched out beneath him, her
hands splayed out at her sides, open to him.
Now Yukito was on top of her, burying his face in her neck, his
sticky hands in her hair as he kissed, surprising her at the
most unexpected moments with another lick at her skin. A giggle
bubbled up from her neck, and he placed his hand on her throat,
appreciating it with a smile. Her giggles died away as she
looked up at him, smiling down on her. And she saw it, for just
a little moment. She saw in his eyes that he loved her, much
more than he could tell her in words or in kisses. They were
suspended for a moment in the space between, connected by much
more than eye contact, but by an understanding. He loved her.
And she loved him back just as much, if not more. But it was the
first time she could remember ever feeling challenged by his
love for her. The first time it crossed her mind that he might
cherish her even more than she did him.
“Erin Chloe Spenser,” he said, his accent softly trickling over
her name. That was the exact moment she realized that he was
pretty breathless, too. Despite how cool-headed he had seemed,
he was still the sweet, nervous Yukito he always was at heart.
She reached up and gently ran her hands along his arms, closing
her eyes for a moment, and re-opening them to find him still
there, still real. His weight on her, pressing against her, warm
sunshine heat bearing down on them and setting their world on
fire.
“Hmm?” she hummed in reply.
“I’m going to marry you one day,” he promised, meaning every
syllable of it. She wore his engagement ring at all times, the
simple, cheap stone not what he had wanted to give her, but
special to them, all the same.
“Then you’ll have to get used to calling me by a new name…” she
giggled with glee, cupping his cheeks in her palms. She let out
a little humming sound when his hand trailed down to her thigh
this time, slipping between her legs and trailing his fingers
there until it tickled her with pleasure.
“Erin Chloe Spenser Maki,” he whispered, his voice deepening in
a way that told her that he liked saying it as much as she liked
hearing it. He still straddled above her, and Erin felt like he
had led the party enough, thank you very much, and it was about
time for her turn.
“You’re all sticky..” she complained, wriggling beneath him in
an attempt to get that shiver out of her body that came in
little waves whenever she thought about how close he was to her
now, or the way he had started to touch her. It was a silly
thing to say, she knew, but she couldn’t think of anything else
with him there. Yukito ran his hands down her arms, removing
them from his face, and then placed them on the sand just above
her head, pinning her gently there. Erin bit her lip a little,
eyes lifting up to meet his, shifting a little beneath him and
only making the shivering worse. One hand still holding hers
down, Yukito fell forward on top of her, covering her with his
thin, but muscular frame. His lips crushed on hers and tasted
vaguely of chocolate, shared between them and washed away. She
tried to wriggle free, as the shiver was turning into a shudder,
but instead of releasing her, Yukito seemed to pulse against the
entire length of her body, until she completely forgot where
they were and that anything else existed. His heartbeat thrummed
against her chest, his hands woke up the little nerves all along
her body, and she couldn’t keep still against it. It was as if
he already knew her.
What was happening? She didn’t know, but he kept his hold on
her, retracing his steps earlier until he was licking the edge
of her stomach again, where the ice cream that had started
everything no longer had any trace. Yukito’s hands had wandered
south again, acting as though there was no barrier for him to
break through, and Erin’s whole mind was consumed with a
drumbeat that crashed in around her in the dark behind her
eyelids. The shudder that was once a shiver now blossomed into
an earthquake throughout her body. Yukito continued the drumbeat
with his touches all through her body, still dotting her with
kisses in time to some silent music that could only be felt
between them. Erin’s breath was coming quicker now, like she was
running…even though she wasn’t. And then, he slowed down, his
lips paused as though frozen against her collarbone. Her eyes
closed to everything, she laid her head to the side and exhaled
a great breath.
Slowly, the thunderous roar of the waves returned to her ears,
matching the thrumming vibrations that ran all the way up her
body as they slowly, ever so slowly, ebbed away. A war drum that
slowly faded, leaving her limp against the blanket. What was it
he had done? She didn’t care what you called it, he was against
her again, letting out a single hummed note as he brushed her
hair out of her eyes. Erin opened her eyes and saw him smirking
down at her, mischievous as though he had won something. She
laughed, for no reason at all, pushing at him in playful
protest, but surprised at how weak her own hands felt.
“No f-fair!” she laughed, but he just kept smiling down at her,
silently. Erin twisted until she was able to slip out from under
him, just as he decided to move off of her. She readjusted her
swimsuit straps, half-playing at the haughty air – she hadn’t
realized she was letting him do all of that. But she still had
some pride left, after all. She sat up on her heels and jutted
her bottom lip at him. “But I’m still covered in ice cream!”
Yukito gave a little shrug, not caring in the least, but Erin
snatched his hand up and raced toward the water. Their towels
were abandoned on the beach, their bare feet flying across the
sand. Here was where she would excel.
They hit the cold water hard, but Erin kept going, her hand
still clutching Yukito’s tightly as she pulled them both
directly off a drop-off and under the waves. She heard him call
out her name, trying to hold her back and make her slow down for
a moment, but she refused to listen. He became such a child once
he was in water – and she knew it well. Erin pulled him beneath
the waves, opening her eyes to see him starting to flail about.
Calmly, she smiled, curling herself around him and placing her
lips on his. Did he forget one of her own special talents? She
exhaled into his mouth, offering him air to breathe, and she
felt his muscles start to calm. They could stay under here,
beneath the surface of the sea, for much longer than he was
aware of. The artificial lungs in her body were designed to make
her the ultimate mermaid, and she loved to feel him relax,
allowing her to temper their position in the water. The waves
crashed a couple of feet above their heads, making them sway
back and forth against the current. Yukito’s hands still
clutched at her waist, stiffer and still unsure. But Erin knew
what she was doing. She was curled up against his chest, slowly
turning them over in the water. Her hair became entangled in
his, floating about their faces. They were suspended in time, no
sound, no gravity, no one else. Not a soul existed as far as the
eye could see, and she would have been content to stay here in
their solitude forever. Her lips wrapped around his in energetic
insistence, as if wordlessly telling him her way was best,
because now they could both enjoy the exhilaration.
At last, she felt him giggling into her mouth, his chest
vibrating beneath her hand, and she smiled, kicking off the
sandy floor where they had momentarily landed and pulling him up
toward the sun that glimmered above them. Once they broke the
surface of the water, they both let out a laughter that rang out
across the shoreline, and she threw her arms around his neck. He
still chuckled, leaning in to bury his face in her hair once
more. He didn’t even need to say it but Erin was happy all the
same when she heard him whisper in her ear, “I love you, Erin.
Don’t ever change.”
“Well, why would I do that? I’m amazing just as I am!” she
chirruped, and he touched their noses together in a soft little
Eskimo kiss, still beaming at her. “And I love you, too.”
