       Trent Fisher -- night vision
       By: GGJ5 Date: June 1, 2013, 12:01 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Full name: Trenton Fisher
       Age: 17
Physical description: Messy blond hair and light hazel eyes and
a long and thin face, he could pass for older than he is. He
reaches just to 5'11-- the shortest in his family, and is
visibly strong from the various sports he avidly plays
throughout the year. (baseball, basketball, American football
and soccer). Pretty much always in a pair of broken-in jean
shorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops if he has to wear shoes.
Unless he's on stage for something, then it's a little
       different...
       Character's Personality/Background Info:
Trenton, normally preferring just Trent (though a select few
have taken to calling him Fish/Fisher/other plays on his last
name), is the kind of person with an intelligence very much
above average, but you'd only know it from watching him in
school or reviewing his work. It's not something he cares to
show off, or really think about much at all. His philosophy is
of the "Eat, drink, and be merry" mindset, and as the youngest
of his two other siblings in a single-father home, he has a bit
more freedom to do what he wants, especially since it never
seems to affect his grades. It takes a lot to get on his nerves
and is pretty hard to anger, though he will hold grudges far
past their expiration date. Rather noncommittal, Trent has yet
to keep a girlfriend for more than a couple of months at a
time-- in the way of girls, he's easily distracted, and usually
breaks up with them before they realize they've lose his
attention. He is lead guitarist for his band, Veritas, and
spends a majority of his time outside of school and sports in
the local music scene, whether that be seeing other bands'
shows, having random jam sessions, working at the music store,
or practicing with his own band. He doesn't think about what
tomorrow might hold, but fully enjoys today.
Enhancement (if any): When he was very little, Trent's family
noticed the way he suddenly seemed to feel lost in low-lit
places. After going from one eye doctor to another until they
were talking with a neuro-ophthalmologist, Trent and his family
learned he had little to no night vision, which surprised him as
a child. He'd been under the impression that everyone saw the
way he did, so to learn that seeing near blackness in low-lit
rooms was uncommon struck him as a surprise. However, more tests
showed that the night blindness was from an unusual lack of rods
in his eyes, and that there were other problem signs. Having a
history of retinal degeneration in his family, Trent was a high
risk for losing vision completely as he got older.
As Enhancements became available, albeit through two full-time
jobs for his dad and money from whatever his older brothers
could earn... and far, far too many loans... and selling the
house... and many other ways to squeeze money out.... Trent's
dad sought out a way to keep light as part of Trent's life.
Through multiple-step surgeries, Trent was equipped with a
cyberoptic lens built into each eye that served like an animal's
tapetum lucidum-- the thin layer that amplified any light that
entered it. The cyberoptic lenses were genetically fused with
his cornea, which at first had been extremely painful. A
separate operation inserted into his eyes synthetically-produced
rod cells, making up for the natural deficiency he had as a
child. Though the cyberoptic lenses mean that at all times,
Trent takes in amplified light, making him prone to constantly
carrying a pair of sunglasses with him. However, at night, his
       vision is impeccable.
