There is a bench where the bus stop comes, as well as a large,
brick archway leading up toward the main buildings.

The bus wasn't nearly as crowded as she expected, with only a
handful of students scattered around the compartment, yet she
felt as if there was a million pairs of eyes drilling into her.
She focused her own eyes on the blurred scenery outside the
window as she tried desperately to steady her breathing. She had
never been the new kid before and she had no idea what to
expect. Ever since primary school she had been in classes with
different combinations of the same people; newcomers were few
and far between and they all seemed stand offish and odd. Now
she, of her own accord, was being thrust into a whole new
environment with a brand new set of people and she was going to
be the odd one. She swallowed thickly and her heart sped up as
the bus turned into the school parking lot. She felt
lightheaded, as if enough oxygen wasn't filtering into her
brain, and she took a deep breath. The tiny voice in the back of
her head pipped up. "Pull yourself together! You're going to
hyperventilate, I'm sure that would make a lasting impression on
Reese." Her stomach swooped excitedly at the mention of Reese's
name and her head tipped forward to rest against the cool
window. The brakes of the bus squealed as it slowed to a stop
before the doors hissed open. The students around her all rose
from their seats, shuffling toward the exit with the bags slung
over they shoulders. She wiped her palms once more before
reaching for her own back back and pulling herself into a
standing position. She was the last to filter into the line and
she didn't reach the doors until almost fifteen seconds after
the person in front of her.
Cool air smacked her across the face as soon as she stepped down
from the bus, the wind blowing her hair and cooling her heated
cheeks. Students were swarming toward the entrance of the
school, pushing past each other to get to classes and friends.
Not far from the door a boy with a mess of golden brown hair was
sitting on a bench, his eyes trained on the buses behind her.
Her stomach swooped again and she bit her lip to hide the smile
that was threatening to break across her face. She gripped the
strap of her backpack with one hand and bounced up on her toes.
Chevy's description really did not to him justice. Even from a
far she could see that he was more beautiful than his picture on
tumblr and she felt a twinge of insecurity tug at her heart.
Goosebumps appeared on her skin and shiver that she suspected
had nothing to do with the wind ran up her spine.
"Reese," she breathed out, eyes widening when it came out far
louder than intended. She glanced around her, eyes darting
around the crowd of students before moving forward toward the
boy, her hands shaking nervously. Stopping in front of the
bench, she took a half a second to gather herself before she
       bounced up on her toes.
"Well, well, well, aren't you a pretty little thing?" she
greeted with a nervous laugh, thinking it better that she didn't
lift a trembling hand to wave at him.

       Reese Middleton
He had been waiting about ten minutes or so. It was a nice day
out, one of those days you wanted to sit and look like a writer,
holding onto a magnificent novel and reading it while the breeze
blew through your hair. He leaned back, his arms stretched out
to either side of him across the back of the bench, and looking
up. There was a tree just behind him, and he studied the way the
wind played with the leaves, appearing to wave at him sleepily
while he watched. Reese closed his eyes. Yes, it was a beautiful
       day, especially for a tour.
       Thrum, thrum, thrum..
Was it footsteps he was hearing, of dozens of teenagers
wandering by, or was it their very heartbeats? Chaka chaka
chaka.. Was it the sound of the boy with the plastic CDs in his
bag, which clanged together, or was it the sound of that girl's
high heels against the pavement? A thousand sounds whirled
around his head at any given moment, the vibrations being the
worst. He shouldn't have chosen to sit on a bench with so much
       metal in it.
Badump-ump-ump-ump Badump-ump-ump-ump. This time the sound was
louder, clearer, more direct. Reese opened his eyes and found
the bus stopped in front of him, people getting off. He scanned
the crowd, but it took a few minutes before the silhouette of
the young woman he waited for came into view.
"Well, well, well, aren't you a pretty little thing?" she
greeted with a little laugh. He smiled, standing up and brushing
off his jeans. Upon leaving the bench, it was like the world
muffled a bit. He always wore the special tennis shoes that
absorbed vibrations, and it made his life at school a lot
easier. Reese looked her up and down, still smiling softly.
"Well, you're not so bad yourself," he said breezily, "Nice to
meet you, Sydora. I'm Reese. Just confirming, so you know I'm
not some random creeper. Although I've been called that before."
He chuckled, gesturing dramatically toward the entrance with one
arm. "I humbly introduce you to...Atticus Academy."
