Ithilwin thought of her family back in Riverrun. Mama and Papa
would miss her help around the house, and she would miss singing
for the children, and the barkeep would wonder where she's been.
But it would only be for a little while, right? It sure had been
a while since she got time to herself. "I would love to. I feel
I should give this forest another chance." After riding together
for a while and being unable to come up with anything else to
say, Ithilwin decided to sing.
"Oh Queen beyond the Seas!
Oh Light to us that wander here
Amid the world of woven trees!
Clear are thy eyes and bright thy breath!
We sing to thee
In a far land beyond the Sea.
Oh stars now bright and clear
We still remember, we who dwell
In this far land beyond the trees,
Thy starlight on the Seas."

Loren was delighted at her answer he leaned over and gave her a
small hug. He rode with a real sense of pride in his heart. He
was startled was Ithilwin started singing but it quickly soothed
him. He let them ride as she sang. "You have a beautiful voice.
Did someone teach you to sing? You must've got the songs from
somewhere."

Ithilwin was somewhat startled by Loren's embrace, but found it
comforting. "My elvish mother sang them to me as a child. We
would sing and pick flowers from the fields."

"Sounds nice." Eventually the pair came to a clearing in the
forest and Loren dismounted. "If you're hungry I've got food."
He said as he laid out a sewn blanket, it seemed to have been
patched many times with different colour patches in the fabric.
Loren started emptying the satchel he'd had with him, out poured
green apples, bread, and cold meat. "There's probably a few
berry shrubs around here somewhere if you're fancying. That is,
if you remember how to forage" Loren smirked at Ithilwin.

"I have not forgotten how to beat an opponent who likes to
tease, if you keep that up," Ithilwin boasted. She grabbed an
apple and knelt on the blanket, taking a bite. "What else in the
forest would you like to show me? What are your plans?"

"Oh what else? Uh, well I can show you the branch I often sit
on, or the other branch I often sit on. I could also show you
the tree I sit at the base of or -" Loren thought hard,
calculating the risk, the time, the preparation, the journey and
then the arrival. Was it worth it? She's already staying so it's
not like he needs to blow her mind to convince her further but
it would be amazing either way. But dangerous too.
"Okay, I could show you something, it'll either have to be right
now or we wait until tomorrow. I won't take you there in the
dark."

Ithilwin genuinely laughed. "Why wait?" She looked around at the
food though and tried to gauge how much sunlight left in the day
there was. "But we did just sit down. Is there time for a
sandwich before we go?"

"Yeah yeah, but if you want to go today you gotta hurry up. It's
not that far really but, well unlike the unicorns the creatures
I'll take you to meet aren't my friends. There no one's
friends." Loren looked excited but apprehensive at the same
time. He held Ithilwin's hand in his own hands "It'll be
amazing, I can promise you that."

She quickly took some of the meat and placed it on the top of
the bread, and with no time for being a lady scarfed it down.
Still with a mouth slightly full she said, "I am ready for
another adventure."

Loren smiled. "Perfect. We are going to have to leave the
unicorns though, they won't get near what we're heading
towards." Loren saw the concerned look on Ithilwin's face
"Don't worry about Serenity she'll find her way back to the
glade.As for s if we went to get there quickly we'll have to
move fast. Follow me closely, do what I say when I say and we'll
be safe." Loren smiled widely. "Okay, let's go."
