THE RULES
General Forum Rules
1. This is the golden rule: What happens off the forum, stays
off the forum. Personal life leaves once you enter the webpage.
I will not take action if two members disagree off forum, but if
it becomes a problem on here, then both parties will be dealt
with appropriately.
2. Be respectful to members.
3. The warning system: If you break a rule listed you may be
verbally warned. This is a simple scolding and holds nothing
against you at present, though it may in the future. Further
rule-breaking will result in a physical warn, meaning a
temporary or permanent ban.
4. Do not be afraid to post what you want. Any type of roleplay
and threads go. You may post whatever you want, so long as it
does not break any laws (i.e. Torrents, hacks, child porn, etc).
5. No godmodding. “Godmodding” is a term referring making “super
characters” that are perfect in every way and better than
everyone else. These are also called Marty Stus and Mary Sues.
Everyone has at least one flaw and using it to your advantage is
what makes a good character.
6. Absolutely no running someone else’s character without their
permission. It’s fine to add a future-sense sentence to your
post like “He did a backflip, and when he was asked why he did
that, he replied with, “Just feeling silly.”
7. No metagaming. This means having a character knowing
something you know and he wouldn’t realistically know that. For
example, let’s say you know that a troll’s weakness is fire. If
your character is a first-time adventurer going into his first
dungeon with no knowledge of what’s inside and finds a troll, it
would be metagaming to have him grab a torch and start attacking
the troll with it.
8. Keep the style of writing in the same format. This means it
has to be unanimously agreed to have it run in a manuscript or
novel format. Manuscript is run like a play’s script, like you
have “Character Name: [action] Wow, he rocked!” Novel is your
standard storybook style of play. *All roleplay posts are done
in THIRD person.
9. All RPs need to have a preplanning topic that describes the
plot, acceptable characters, and open slots. Once everyone is
ready to go, then the RP started can start the RP officially.
Private RPs are exempt.
10. You are allowed to have private RPs between certain
selections of members. They are not required to have a
preplanning topic, but please add the usernames of those
involved so we do know it’s private.
11. When discussing out of RP events, please add an OOC (Out of
Character) tag. This can be something like putting OOC:
[message] or using double parenthesis (( )). Please limit the
amount of OOC tags, as this can pull away from the RP
experience. Use them to make quick notes about where things are
in the plot. If you end up needing a small conversation in OOC,
consider making a separate topic in the Planning Area.
12. Have fun! Don’t be afraid to try new things and ideas. Forge
friendships, go on adventures, and most of all stay safe. Even
if you’re new to the whole thing, don’t let anything hold you
back.
13. RP threads are highly encouraged, but not required to have
one or more tags added to the title. This lets a member know at
a glance just what kind of content is inside. Yes, even private
RPs can be read by any other member.
Common tags are as follows:
V-UltraViolence.(18+ violence)
G-Gore (excessive bleeding...etc)
N-Nudity(18+nudity)
S-sex(Sexual behavior)
If you need writing help, don’t be afraid to contact me or
someone else. I/we’ll be more than happy to help. If you have
any more questions, shoot me a PM/Email my way and I’ll get to
you as soon as possible.
